Abstract:In this paper we first show that Lϕ(μ)-averaging domains are invariant under some mappings, such as K-quasi-isometries and Φ-quasi-isometries. Then we prove that John domains are Lϕ(μ)-averaging domains for any ϕ satisfying the conditions in the definition of Lϕ(μ)-averaging domains.
Geometry of Complex Bounded Domains with Finite-Volume Quotients

Abstract:We first show that for a bounded pseudoconvex domain with a manifold quotient of finite-volume in the sense of Kahler-Einstein measure, the identity component of the automorphism group of this domain is semi-simple without compact factors. This partially answers an open question in [Fra95]. Then we apply this result in different settings to solve several open problems, for examples, (1). We prove that the automorphism group of the Griffiths domain [Gri71] in ℂ^2 is discrete. This gives a complete answer to an open question raised four decades ago. (2). We show that for a contractible HHR/USq complex manifold D with a finite-volume manifold quotient M, if D contains a one-parameter group of holomorphic automorphisms and the fundamental group of M is irreducible, then D is biholomorphic to a bounded symmetric domain. This theorem can be viewed as a finite-volume version of Nadel-Frankel's solution for the Kahzdan conjecture, which has been open for years. (3). We show that for a bounded convex domain D⊂ℂ^n of C^2-smooth boundary, if D has a finite-volume manifold quotient with an irreducible fundamental group, then D is biholomorphic to the unit ball in ℂ^n, which partially solves an old conjecture of Yau. For (2) and (3) above, if the complex dimension is equal to 2, more refined results will be provided.

Abstract:We study the quasisymmetric geometry of the Julia sets of McMullen maps fλ(z) = zm + λ/zℓ, where λ ∈ ℂ {0} and ℓ and m are positive integers satisfying 1/ℓ+1/m < 1. If the free critical points of fλ are escaped to the infinity, we prove that the Julia set Jλ of fλ is quasisymmetrically equivalent to either a standard Cantor set, a standard Cantor set of circles or a round Sierpiński carpet (which is also standard in some sense). If the free critical points are not escaped, we give a suffcient condition on λ such that Jλ is a Sierpiński carpet and prove that most of them are quasisymmetrically equivalent to some round carpets. In particular, there exist infinitely renormalizable rational maps whose Julia sets are quasisymmetrically equivalent to the round carpets.

Abstract:We first establish the local Poincaré inequality with L𝒜-averaging domains for the composition of the sharp maximal operator and potential operator, applied to the nonhomogenous A-harmonic equation. Then, according to the definition of L𝒜-averaging domains and relative properties, we demonstrate the global Poincaré inequality with L𝒜-averaging domains. Finally, we give some illustrations for these theorems.

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly consider the weakly quasisymmetric mappings and uniform domains on the generalized Grushin planes. We prove that Φ : G r → C is a weakly ( h , H ) -quasisymmetric mapping. Meanwhile, we also show the invariance of uniform domains on the generalized Grushin planes.

A new characterization of $L^2$-domains of holomorphy with null thin complements via $L^2$-optimal conditions

Abstract:In this paper, we show that the $L^2$-optimal condition implies the $L^2$-divisibility of $L^2$-integrable holomorphic functions. As an application, we offer a new characterization of bounded $L^2$-domains of holomorphy with null thin complements using the $L^2$-optimal condition, which appears to be advantageous in addressing a problem proposed by Deng-Ning-Wang. Through this characterization, we show that a domain in a Stein manifold with a null thin complement, admitting an exhaustion of complete Kähler domains, remains Stein. By the way, we construct an $L^2$-optimal domain that does not admit any complete Kähler metric.

Abstract:We study the mappings satisfying the so-called inverse Poletsky inequality. We consider mappings of the domains with quasiextreme distance, domains with locally quasiconformal boundary, and domains regular (in a sense of prime ends) onto the domains with locally quasiconformal boundary, regular domains, or domains that are locally Hölder equivalent to a half ball on their boundary. For these mappings, we prove their Hölder logarithmic continuity in a neighborhood of points of the boundary.

Abstract:In this paper, we study quasimöbius invariance of uniform domains in Banach spaces. We first investigate implications of certain geometric properties of domains in Banach spaces, such as the (diameter) uniformity, the $\delta$-uniformity and the min-max property. Then we show that all of these conditions are equivalent if the domain is $\psi$-natural. As applications, we answer partially to an open question proposed by Väisälä, and provide a new method to prove a recent result of M. Huang, Y. Li, M. Vuorinen, and X. Wang in [On quasimöbius maps in real Banach spaces, Israel J. Math. 198 (2013), 467-486], which also gives an answer to another question raised by Väisälä.

Abstract:In this note, we study the relation between the existence of a negatively curved complete hermitian metric on a complex manifold M and the product structure of (or contained in) M. We introduce the concept of geometric ranks and give a curvature characterization of the rank one manifolds, which generalizes the previous results of P. Yang and N. Mok (see below). In the proof, we used the old techniques of Yau's Schwartz lemma and Cheng-Yau's result on the existence of Kahler-Einstein metrics.

Abstract:In this paper we prove a conjecture of Griffiths about vanishing of the zeroth cohomology groups of locally homogeneous vector bundles on compact quotients of non-classical period domains, and construct a new $G_\R$-invariant complex structure on any non-classical period domain $D=G_\R/V$ with $G_\R$ of Hermitian type. Various geometric and algebraic characterizations of non-classical period domains and several geometric applications on their compact quotients are deduced as consequences of our results.

Abstract:The combinatorial Mandelbrot set is a continuum in the plane, whose boundary is defined as the quotient space of the unit circle by an explicit equivalence relation. This equivalence relation was described by Douady (1984) and, separately, by Thurston (1985) who used quadratic invariant geolaminations as a major tool. We showed earlier that the combinatorial Mandelbrot set can be interpreted as a quotient of the space of all limit quadratic invariant geolaminations with the Hausdorff distance topology. In this paper, we describe two similar quotients. In the first case, the identifications are the same but the space is smaller than that used for the Mandelbrot set. The resulting quotient space is obtained from the Mandelbrot set by ıpinching" the transitions between adjacent hyperbolic components. In the second case we identify renormalizable geolaminations that can be ırenormalized" to the same hyperbolic geolamination while no two non-renormalizable geolaminations are identified.

Abstract:For any pair of orientable closed hyperbolic $3$--manifolds, this paper shows that any isomorphism between the profinite completions of their fundamental groups witnesses a bijective correspondence between the Zariski dense $\mathrm{PSL}(2,\mathbb{Q}^{\mathtt{ac}})$--representations of their fundamental groups, up to conjugacy; moreover, corresponding pairs of representations have identical invariant trace fields and isomorphic invariant quaternion algebras. (Here, $\mathbb{Q}^{\mathtt{ac}}$ denotes an algebraic closure of $\mathbb{Q}$.) Next, assuming the $p$--adic Borel regulator injectivity conjecture for number fields, this paper shows that uniform lattices in $\mathrm{PSL}(2,\mathbb{C})$ with isomorphic profinite completions have identical invariant trace fields, isomorphic invariant quaternion algebras, identical covolume, and identical arithmeticity.

Abstract:Kamiya, Takemura, and Terao initiated the theory of the characteristic quasi-polynomial of an integral arrangement, which is a function counting the elements in the complement of the arrangement modulo positive integers. They gave a period of the characteristic quasi-polynomial, called the LCM-period, and showed that the first constituent of the characteristic quasi-polynomial coincides with the characteristic polynomial of the corresponding hyperplane arrangement. Recently, Liu, Tran, and Yoshinaga showed that the last constituent of the characteristic quasi-polynomial coincides with the characteristic polynomial of the corresponding toric arrangement. In addition, by using the theory of toric arrangements, Higashitani, Tran, and Yoshinaga proved that the LCM-period is the minimum period of the characteristic quasi-polynomial. In this paper, we study an arrangements over a Dedekind domain such that every residue ring with a nonzero ideal is finite and give algebraic generalizations of the above results.

Abstract:We develop a framework for common commensurators of discrete subgroups of lattices in isometry groups of CAT(0) spaces. We show that the Greenberg-Shalom hypothesis about discreteness of common commensurators of Zariski dense subgroups and lattices fails in this generality, even if one imposes strong finiteness conditions. We analyze some examples due to Burger and Mozes in this context and show that they have discrete common commensurator.

Abstract:AbstractIn this paper, in terms of the hyperbolic metric, we give a condition under which the image of a hyperbolic domain of an analytic function contains a round annulus centred at the origin. From this, we establish results on the multiply connected wandering domains of a meromorphic function that contain large round annuli centred at the origin. We thereby successfully extend the results of transcendental meromorphic functions with finitely many poles to those with infinitely many poles.
