Abstract:The Mn partitioning behavior and its effect on microstructure and mechanical properties of low-carbon Q&P steel were studied by means of intercritical annealing-quenching(IQ), quenching-partitioning process(Q&P) and intercritical annealing-austenitizing-quenching-partitioning process (I&Q&P).The results show that after treated by IQ process, the microstructure of the steel is transformed from the initial microstructure of ferrite pearlite to ferrite martensite phase structure, and C and Mn elements constantly diffuse from ferrite to austenite during process of phase transformation, finally, C and Mn elements obviously enrich in austenite. For Q&P process, with the prolonging of C partitioning time, the tensile strength of steel constantly decreases, while the elongation first increases and then decreases. When the C partitioning time is 60 s with the Q&P process, the volume fraction of retained austenite is up to 12 %, and its product of strength and elongation reaches 20 GPa? %;Compared with Q&P steel, at the same C partitioning time, the steel treated by I&Q&P process obtain lower tensile strength, but higher elongation; When the C partitioning time is 120 s of I&Q&P process, the volume fraction of retained austenite is up to 15%, and the product of strength and elongation reaches 22 GPa? %.
