Abstract:The distributed generation technology is at the stage of limited application now,confronting restrains from the economic efficiency,business modes and policy environments,and thus to understand these restraints and adopt effective countermeasures is a key issue for its development in a large scale.Summarizing the disadvantages of centralized power supply and the advantages of distributed power supply,and classifying the research subjects related to the distributed generation,this paper makes an overview on the various impacts from the distributed resource integrating into power grids,and its main related research fields,pointing out that how to coordinate the distributed resources and network,or to coordinate microgrid and network is an important issue to be studied and resolved in near future,and the coordination of the distributed resources and network is the basis for the application of distributed generation technology while the coordination of microgrid and network is one of the supports for the construction of smart distributed network.

Abstract:With the development of smart grid and information and communication technology (ICT), flexible demand resources have been utilized for accommodating the high penetration of wind power. In this paper, various uncertainties affecting reliable and secure operation of power systems were analyzed including the uncertainties of cyber physical system (CPS). Moreover, multi-state reliability models of conventional generating units and wind farms were introduced. The techniques for analyzing dispatch-able potential and reliability of flexible demand resources were proposed considering the uncertainties of electric power information system. Furthermore, reliability evaluation procedures for power systems considering cooperative interaction between wind power and flexible demand resources were summarized. Finally, possible research directions of reliability analysis were pointed out under the new situations.

Abstract:This paper presents a technique to evaluate unreliabilities and responsibilities of power market participants such as Gencos, transmission network and customers in a restructured power system. An optimal power flow (OPF) model subject to market and network constraints is used to determine load curtailment, generation re-dispatched and reserve dispatched. Reliability and economic indices for market participants are introduced in this paper to represent their unreliabilities and the associated responsibilities. The modified IEEE-RTS with the Poolco market structure has been analyzed to illustrate the techniques. The proposed technique can be used to evaluate both conventional and restructured power systems, and can provide both economic and reliability information for the independent system operator to manage system reliability, for Gencos to enhance their reliability, and for customer to select suppliers based on their reliability requirements.

Abstract:With the development of electricity reform,China's electricity market construction should not only consider the current conditions,but also study the advanced experience from other countries,to develop a market model and corresponding roadmap with Chinese characteristics.Nord pool is the first multi-national electricity market in the world and has advancements in many aspects,such as the design of successful market mechanism,the development of smart grid and high renewable energy penetration etc.The experience accumulated by Nordic market will have reference value for China's construction of electricity market.This paper firstly introduced the generation situation of the power industry and the exchange model of market in Nordic area,including the driving force of Nordic market development,history,exchange mechanism and framework etc.What's more,several key issues during the development of Nordic market were refined,including congestion management,market power control,wind power consumption and future market development etc.Besides,the paper compared the two mainstream market models in the world-Nordic (Europe) and US market and summarized the design concepts and the differences of the two markets.Finally,based on the current situation of resources endowment,network congestion and load distribution,some advice was proposed for the development of China's market.

Abstract:Internet technology has introduced new vitality into the rapid development of the Energy Internet. However, reliability evaluation and risk management are more complicated due to the uncertainty and specific properties of information. Additionally, the operation model of energy system has been transferred into a competitive situation under the market-oriented reformation, which challenges the security and adequacy of energy supply. Therefore, risk assessment in information and market level is the focus of future research. Based on the review of risk assessment for Energy Internet (part I), the paper summarized the pros and cons of the existing research and proposed three critical scientific issues for the Energy Internet in information and market level: joint risk assessment for multi-energy system and information & communication system, risk assessment under market environment, common issues involving information and market level. Information and market level risk assessment contributed to the efficient resource allocation for the purpose of secure and reliable operation and laid the theoretical foundation for market-oriented reformation in the energy industry.

Abstract:Focused on life, consumption, and leisure, communities have been regarded as the basic unit of energy use in a city owing to rapid urbanization, whose energy use density continues to increase. Moreover, community integrated energy systems (CIESs) in the rapid development stage have become em-bedded, small, and self-sufficient energy ecosystems within cities because of their environmental and economic benefits. CIESs face a competitive energy trading environment that comprises numerous entities and complicated relationships. This paper presents an extensive review of various issues related to CIES trading. First, the concepts, types, and resources of CIESs are described. Second, the trading patterns and strategies of CIESs are reviewed from the four perspectives of the trading objects: community-to-peer (C2P), peer-to-peer (P2P), community-to-community (C2C), and community-to-grid (C2G). Third, a tri-layer trading framework and the features of CIESs that participate in combined multienergy markets are proposed. Last, the key issues in CIES trading are summarized.

Abstract:With the research achievements in both theory and practice domain,more and more new challenges for power system operation and planning have been aroused in the electricity industry restructuring process. Some hot topics about these new problems are analyzed in this paper,which is the first part of a series of two. The history of electricity market is firstly reviewed. The interactive process between the power system optimization theory and the microeconomics theory is discussed. Then the advantages of some foreign electricity markets, such as North-Europe, United Kingdom and PJM etc,are summarized. Especially the SMD(Standard Market Design) framework is focused in the analysis. Finally some suggestions on the market design work are proposed based on the western successful experiences and the realities of China.

Abstract:Requirements of modern inter-connected grids on restorative control are first clarified, followed by a summary on state-of-the-art of researches on the bottom-up, top-down and hybrid restoration strategies. From both technical and economic prospects, functions of a decision support system are pointed out. Based on risk analysis, an adaptive decision support system is proposed, influence of electricity market environment on blackstar-t service analyzed, and coordination between risk management and technical optimization discussed. In addition, it is emphasized that the technical performance of the startup service and the risk cost of blackout can be expressed by quantitative indices and added into the objective function for the optimization.

Abstract:Inverter-based resources (IBRs) are playing a major role in modern power systems, and the installation of IBRs is still growing in recent years, which necessitates the continuous development of grid codes and requirements, e.g. National Grid GC0137 in 2021 and IEEE Std. 2800 in 2022. In the meanwhile, conventional control strategies (i.e., grid-following, GFL) are facing challenges when dealing with a high-percentation-IBR power system, especially in faulty conditions. Considering this, new control schemes like grid-forming (GFM) control has been put forward to offer a stable voltage for the grid. However, certain concepts and definitions remain unclear. With the above concerns, a review of the recent requirements for IBRs and GFM technologies is given in this paper, where further perspectives and open discussions are presented.

Abstract:As effective measures to optimize generation and transmission resources, electricity spot market has been constructed in six pilot areas in China. Currently, several pilot areas have compiled and published market rules for public comments based on their own realities of the electric power industry. In order to provide pilot experience for the provinces where spot markets have not been built, it is urgent to compare and summarize the market construction practice in different pilot areas. Therefore, this paper reviews the electricity spot market reform in China from current status to future development. According to international experience of electricity market reform, six key issues of spot market construction are summarized. From the standpoints of the previous key issues, the market rules in the pilot areas are compared to illustrate the current status of spot market construction in China. On the basis, the experience of spot market construction is also concluded. Moreover, the future development of market construction is proposed.

Abstract:With the intensifying energy crisis and environmental pollution, the Energy Internet and corresponding patterns of energy use have been attracting more and more attention. In this paper, the basic concept and characteristics of the Energy Internet are summarized, and its basic structural framework is analyzed in detail. On this basis,couplings between the electric power system and other systems such as the cooling and heating system, the natural gas system, and the traffic system are analyzed, and the operation and planning of integrated energy systems in both deterministic and uncertain environments are comprehensively reviewed. Finally, the research prospects and main technical challenges of the Energy Internet are discussed.

Abstract:Power industry restructuring and hence establishment of electricity markets lead to significant challenges to power system planning, operation and control. Many experiences gained and lessons learnt from operation of existing power markets. However in the new market environment, some old power system planning, operation and control issues become much more difficult to solve and new problems arise, and up to now quite a lot of problems still remain unsolved. Challenges of market-based operation of power systems are discussed including: market structure design, IT system requirement, congestion management, ancillary service provision, market power in electricity markets, strategic bidding for generation companies, and generation and network expansion in the market environment. The objective of this paper is to stimulate further discussions and investigations rather than to solve these problems.

Abstract:According to the current status of Distributed Generation (DG) in our country, this paper discusses issues on pricing policies and trading mechanism of interconnection in the following two fields, renewable DG and Combined Cooling Heating & Power (CCHP). For renewable energy, the paper studies the associate measures to our National Renewable Energy Law which implemented this year, designs two reasonable costsharing methods: Fund and Volunteering Purchasing Mechanism. For CCHP, the paper brings the proposal of compensatory expenses to the reserve capacity of power system. Long Term Marginal Cost methodology is discussed for calculating basic price of power tariff. The paper uses the date of Beijing-grid to calculate the expenses standard under different voltage levels of interconnection. In the final, suggestions on pricing policies and trading mechanism of DG are given. ©2006 IEEE.

Abstract:The large-scale exploitation and utilization of renewable energy will become a major global energy development trends. How to implement extensive interconnection of distributed renewable energy and how to increase energy efficiency and flexibility of the energy system are key problems. Energy internet based on the concept of the internet has become the main trend in this area. Energy internet will bring great changes to energy exploitation, allocation, consumption and all aspects of human life, and this series of changes bring a more comprehensive and stringent requirements to information and communication systems. The needs for energy internet and information and communication technologies are fully analyzed, and then the information and communication architecture for energy internet based on power electricity is presented. Against the background of the energy internet application, more than twenty key information and communication technologies from collecting and monitoring, processing, analysis decision, fundamental resource, security guarantee and support system are introduced. At last, prospect on hot spots and the development direction of energy internet is concluded.
