Abstract:The Ethernet is more and more used in the industrial environments. Because of the non-deterministic protocol of CSMA/CD, Ethernet is thought not to be suitable for the control of real time applications. With the worldwide application and development of Ethernet, its transmission rate is considered sufficiently high enough to estimate that all messages can be received inside a predefined temporal window. Especially, using Ethernet in industrial network will brings a lot of advantages: (1) consistency with the other communication systems installed in the enterprise; (2) employment of the same hardware all over the factory; (3) short cycle-times due to the high transmission speed; (4) large availability of chips implementing the MAC protocol, etc. In this paper, we first analyze the real-time capability of Ethernet and features of traffic for industrial network. Then, we propose some technologies for the design of an Ethernet-based real-time application. Finally, we present an EPA (Ethernet for Plant Automation)-based open network control system.

Abstract:In the process of China's automated production, the upgrading and networking of old infrastructures becomes one of the key issues. With large quantity, numerous varieties and wide distribution, these infrastructures brings complex design work and high cost to network them into fieldbus, which greatly hamper the building of intelligent factories. This paper proposed an industrial-control solution to network these infrastructures by power line carrier (PLC) communication. The solution applies Time-Triggered Ethernet(TTE), one of the real-time Ethernet to solve the problem of communication congestion and can limit the control accuracy on the level of ns. The network performance of TTE is verified on OMNeT++ at the last of the paper.

Abstract:Based on the research status of real-time ethernet, End-to-End delay of ethernet in industrial control processes was analyzed, and its calculation procedure was presented. Through simulation experiment, the real-time characteristics of standard ethernet and fast ethernet under three information releasing modes (synchronous, random, scheduled) were discussed. The results show that the real-time performance of fast Ethernet is obviously better than that of standard ethernet; and in low traffic load, the real-time performance of Ethernet under scheduled releasing mode is the best, but a visible frequency turning point exists; and when the traffic load is saturated, there is no difference under the three information releasing modes.

Abstract:To overcome the bad real-time performance of remote control system usually used in industrial field,a method is given to implement remote control based on real-time Ethernet,which combines real-time Ethernet,virtual instrument and optic fiber transmission.The result of experiment indicates that the remote control system based on real-time Ethernet has high reliability,better real-time performance and stronger anti-jamming ability,compared with the common PLC remote control system.It has great value in the control of large industrial field.

Abstract:Based on industrial control process,this paper detailedly analyzes end-to end delay of ethernet,and presents the expectation expression of queue delay and calculation procedure of send delay and transmission delay.By simulation,this paper also analyzes influence of three parameters on real-time capacity of ethernet,and puts forward improving methods on real-time capacity of ethernet in industrial application.These parameters are the number of nodes,the length of frames and communication rate.

Abstract:The demand on high-performance control network is increasing gradually because enterprises will-carry out the remote manufacturing, management and market operation in the field of industrial control today. In order to realize integration of management and control, more and more device maintenance and management informations will be transferred by control network, which requires higher bandwidth. Though Fieldbus develops rapidly, there are some lacks in aspects of transmission speed and real-time. Recently Ethernet and TCP/IP infiltrate into control field more and more, industrial control network is faced with baptism. Therefore, the status quo of industrial control network, fieldbus technology and mixed distributed control network are analyzed in detail in this paper. In addition, the promotion and innovation of Ethernet and TCP/IP to control network are also presented. Combined with thorough analysis of TCP/IP protocol network intelligent sensor and embedded Internet, Internet-based industrial control network is brought forward. With development of integrated circuit rapidly, Ethernet interface can be embedded into field instruments, the new control network will have huge development foreground.

Abstract:There is a growing interest in using Ethernet to support time constrained communication in process control, factory automation and other real-time applications. The paper first presents a comprehensive analysis of the temporal characteristics of traditional Ethernet and the improvements for them, then summarizes the interesting features offered by a switched Ethernet for supporting time constrained communication. Finally, the paper points that there is still lack of general means to handle the capability of switched Ethernet after investigating the QoS of switched Ethernet.

Abstract:This paper presented a method to design the network-interface module based on TCP/IP protocol, which can be used to implement the action agent in networked control system. An embedded system was employed to build the TCP/IP protocol system, the circuit diagram of hardware implementation and the flow chart of software implementation were shown, and the key technologies in the realization were introduced in detail. The experiment results show a satisfying performance on network communication of the interface module and can meet the requirements of the networked control system.

Abstract:The evolvement of the industrial field control system is brief reviewed. Its main contents include intelligent device and instrument, distributed control system, fieldbus and industry Ethernet. In the past several years, the standard of Ethernet had been improved much especially on determination, speed and information priority. Abstract:As Ethernet technology is being matured and perfect, Ethernet also show the advantage of its application in industrial control field because of its good reliability and real-time performance. After introducing calculation method of basic power parameter briefly, the Ethernet communication strategy between smart meter and acquisition terminal in the electric energy data acquisition system is studied for the date communication requirements of energy data acquisition. The rule of data transfer regulation, and formulation method of Modbus/TCP protocol based on DLT_645, hardware design and software design of Ethernet communication interface are given. The test showed communication is stabilized, and the transmission efficiency of electric energy data meet requirement.

Abstract:This study explores the important task of validating data exchange between a control box, a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and a robot in an industrial setting. To achieve this, we adopt a unique approach utilizing both a virtual PLC simulator and an actual PLC device. We introduce an innovative industrial communication module to facilitate the efficient collection and storage of data among these interconnected entities. The main aim of this inquiry is to examine the implementation of Ethernet/IP (EIP), a relatively new addition to the industrial network scenery. It was designed using ODVA's Common Industrial Protocol (CIP™). The Costumed real-time data communication module was programmed in C++ for the Linux Debian platform and elegantly demonstrates the impressive versatility of EIP as a means for effective data transfer in an industrial environment. The study's findings provide valuable insights into Ethernet/IP's functionalities and capabilities in industrial networks, bringing attention to its possible applications in industrial robotics. By connecting theoretical knowledge and practical implementation, this research makes a significant contribution to the continued development of industrial communication systems, ultimately improving the efficiency and effectiveness of automation processes.
