Abstract:It is an old topic to talk about Plato's aesthetics,but there can be new insights into it.As a matter of fact,as a philosopher well-known for his 'banishment of poets",Plato had chosen to become a poet like Homer as his goal of life.This can help us rediscover the value of his aesthetic theory.His transformation of political philosophy,in a sense,suggests the foundation of ethical aesthetics which is centered on his "theory of justice".The term "aesthetic issue of city of justice" also addresses the confusion in recognizing the logical determinacy of 'the ultimate good" as "beauty itself'.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore this issue for Chinese aesthetic study which is universally lack of real "problem awareness".

Abstract:Although their clownery, their lofty and the combining of this two factor are why the comic heroes in Chinese legends make people laugh, but the deepest roots of it is that they are the embodiment of primordial life, the enbodiment of pure life. There are occasionally some solitude and sorrow in their life although, but what they show in the last analysis are mightness, bloom and flowing of life, and the victory of this life, which make pelple fell joy and exultation. Perhaps, it is roots of all comdy and comic heroes, and the essence of comdy spirit.

Abstract:Contemporary Chinese literary and artistic theories have been long entangled in the question "Where is the way".The problem lies in the fashion "topics" of various kinds brought about by "academic discourses",which have taken the place of academic "issues" with real ideological connotations.The so-called "nonsense talk" is continuously prevalent in contemporary Chinese literary and artistic field,which is the crux of the problem that causes too much soliloquizing with an air of growing popularity.The hope that only lies in the future development of literary and artistic aesthetics is to stop such a bad practice through criticism of theoreticism.

Abstract:Both Feng Youlan and Ludwig Wittgenstein have recognized the difference between the speakable and the unspeaka- ble and its significance in philosophical studies.They especially pay attention to the unspeakable.However,most of the re- searchers seem to be absorbed in the speakable what they elaborate in “the positive method” and overlook the unspeakable what they express or not express directly in “the negative method”.This paper takes a method of comparative studies to reveal the significance of the unspeakable what Feng Youlan and Wittgenstein suggest in “the negative method” in aesthetic studies.

Abstract:Sitcom(short for situation comedy) is a humorous drama based on the situation that might arise in everyday life.Among the American and Chinese sitcoms,Friend and I Love My Family are the most popular ones,Based on the previous researches,the present study makes a tentative exploration into the underlying mechanisms of the verbal humor presented in Chinese and American sitcoms I Love My Family and Friends,Languages used in situation comedies of both countries share certain similarities in producing humorous effects,however,as carriers of different cultures,the differences are more obvious due to the basic differences of the two languages and some social factors.

Abstract:The paper explores the intriguing relationship between Aestheticism and Anti-aestheticism in the light of Pierre Bourdieu's theory about the internal struggles within the literary field:Anti-aestheticism came into being almost at the same time as Aestheticism and its satirical cartoons and comedies were even more popular than the serious works of Aestheticism;it is Anti-aestheticism that made Aestheticism widely known and created the stereotype of the Aesthete — Oscar Wilde is more a parody than a prototype.However,Anti-aestheticism has been the blind spot in the research field:critics view Wilde and Aesthetes as the elite artist and hero and Anti-aesthetes as the philistine public persecuting "genius".In truth,the myth of pure art and art's autonomy results from their combined efforts;their arguments revolve around "Aesthete":whether it is the real artist or the pseudo-artist,that is,the monopoly of the literary legitimacy.

Abstract:Homonology is the starting point and the premise for all social science researches. The settlement of large numbers of important theoretical problems in the study of art and literature depends on the settlement of human beings’ problems. In the history of Western literary theories, atheistic existentialism, based on the existence of human beings, is applied to inquire into the problems of art and literature. Therefore, the unique homonological thinking in art and literature is thus formed, which has produced a sustained and profound influence on the construction of the concept of contemporary art and literature. In terms of homonological thinking, atheistic existentialism is opposed to traditional essentialism and the human essence before his existence the viewpoint of ontological homonology. It believes that the viewpoint reduces man to a ″such ″ being that his essential existence is logically covered. On the contrary, however, atheistic existentialism proposes that human existence precedes his essence, regarding man in the real meaning as a primitive and indefinable being against describing him in any epistemological or logical paradigms. It also pays full attention to man’s transcending being, and moreover makes human life possible by intellectually removing all transcendent yokes of human existence and by vigorously affirming the possibility of free choice. In brief, this Sartrean formula points to the fundamental freedom of man and his ability to create himself. In terms of art, existentialism lays particular emphasis on the relationship between art and man, holding that art decodes the truth of human existence, and real art is embodied in his life. It constructs an ideological system of homonology in art and literature with existence, truth, transcendence, and freedom as its core.In summary, existential homonology in art and literature has broadened our horizons and changed our past conception in art and literature. Firstly, it attaches importance to the link between art and (human) life, emphasizing the interpretation of artistic activities with life and elevating it to an ontological level, which is an ultimate of artistic being. We are thus provided with a fresh perspective of artistic nature, and the homonological spirit will become the guiding spirit in art and literature, while the ultimate, existence and exploration of human beings will be the sole subject of art and literature. Secondly, the existential homonology is opposed to traditional art and literature that takes art and literature as a form of knowledge, emphasizing their function of cognition, artistic truth, human existence, and individuality (of all men). In this connection, the foundation of artistic value is shifted from knowledge to existence. Thirdly, the existential homonology rewrites the beauty of traditional art and literature that is regarded as their determinant nature, emphasizing the truth as the nature of art. Therefore, according to the existential homonology, art and literature are no longer the symbol of beauty; instead, they are the home of truth.

Abstract:The dualistic epistemology is one of serious obstacles to the development of Chinese contemporary aesthetic theory,for this reason,the dualism between subject and object must be cast aside.Beauty is not ready-made object but exists in aesthetic activity,which is a starting point in aesthetic research and a basic practice of human beings,so the author advances a new view that beauty in a broad sense is a state of life.In brief,one of valuable attempts is to form practical existential aesthetics for giving impetus to Chinese aesthetic research.
