Abstract:In 2014, some scholars showed that every 2-connected claw-free graph G with independence number α(G)≤3 is Hamiltonian with one exception of family of graphs. If a nontrivial path contains only internal vertices of degree two and end vertices of degree not two, then we call it a branch. A set S of branches of a graph G is called a branch cut if we delete all edges and internal vertices of branches of S leading to more components than G. We use a branch bond to denote a minimal branch cut. If a branch-bond has an odd number of branches, then it is called odd. In this paper, we shall characterize all 2-connected claw-free graphs G such that every odd branch-bond of G has an edge branch and such that α(G)≤5 but has no 2-factor. We also consider the same problem for those 2-edge-connected claw-free graphs with α(G)≤4.

Abstract:Let $G$ denote a graph and $k\geq2$ be an integer. A $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\ldots,K_{1,k},\mathcal{T}(2k+1)\}$-factor of $G$ is a spanning subgraph, whose every connected component is isomorphic to an element of $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\ldots,K_{1,k},\mathcal{T}(2k+1)\}$, where $\mathcal{T}(2k+1)$ is one special family of tree. In this paper, we put forward some sufficient conditions for the existence of $\{K_{1,1},K_{1,2},\ldots,K_{1,k},\mathcal{T}(2k+1)\}$-factors in graphs. Furthermore, we construct some extremal graphs to show that the main results in this paper are best possible.

Abstract:Let G be a graph and be a set of connected graphs. A spanning subgraph H of G is called an –factor if each component of H is isomorphic to a member of . In this paper, we first present a lower bound on the size (resp. the spectral radius) of G to guarantee that G has a –factor (or a perfect k –matching for even k ) and construct extremal graphs to show all this bounds are best possible. We then provide a lower bound on the signless laplacian spectral radius of G to ensure that G has a –factor, where is an integer. Moreover, we also provide some Laplacian eigenvalue (resp. toughness) conditions for the existence of –factor, –factor and –factor in G , respectively. Some of our results extend or improve the related existing results.

Abstract:Recently, Jackson and Yoshimoto proved that every bridgeless simple graph G with @d(G)=3 has an even factor in which every component has order at least four, which strengthens a classical result of Petersen. In this paper, we give a strengthening of the above result and show that the above graphs have an even factor in which every component has order at least four that does not contain any given edge. We also extend the above result to the graphs with minimum degree at least three such that all bridges lie in a common path and to the bridgeless graphs that have at most two vertices of degree two respectively. Finally we use this extended result to show that every simple claw-free graph G of order n with @d(G)=3 has an even factor with at most max{1,@?2n-27@?} components. The upper bound is best possible.

We completely determine the d when k = 2. We propose a conjecture for those k-connected graph, where k ≥ 3.

Abstract:For a vertex subset $X$ of a graph $G$, let $\Delta_{t}(X)$ be the maximum value of the degree sums of the subsets of $X$ of size $t$. In this paper, we prove the following result: Let $k$ be a positive integer, and let $G$ be an $m$-connected graph of order $n \ge 5k - 2$. If $\Delta_{2}(X) \ge n$ for every independent set $X$ of size $\lceil m/k \rceil+1$ in $G$, then $G$ has a 2-factor with exactly $k$ cycles. This is a common generalization of the results obtained by Brandt et al. [Degree conditions for 2-factors, J. Graph Theory 24 (1997) 165-173] and Yamashita [On degree sum conditions for long cycles and cycles through specified vertices, Discrete Math. 308 (2008) 6584-6587], respectively.

Abstract:A graph $G$ is called an $[s,t]$-graph if any induced subgraph of $G$ of order $s$ has size at least $t.$ We prove that every $2$-connected $[4,2]$-graph of order at least $7$ is pancyclic. This strengthens existing results. There are $2$-connected $[4,2]$-graphs which do not satisfy the Chvátal-Erdős condition. We also determine the triangle-free graphs among $[p+2,p]$-graphs for a general $p.$

Equitable factorizations of highly edge-connected graphs: complete characterizations

Abstract:In this paper, we show that every highly edge-connected graph $G$, under a necessary and sufficient degree condition, can be edge-decomposed into $k$ factors $G_1,\ldots, G_k$ such that for each vertex $v\in V(G_i)$ with $1\le i\le k$, $|d_{G_i}(v)-d_G(v)/k|<1$. This characterization covers graphs having at least $k-1$ vertices with degree not divisible by $k$. In addition, we investigate almost equitable factorizations in arbitrary edge-connected graphs. Next, we establish a simpler criterion for the existence of factorizations $G_1,\ldots, G_k$ satisfying $d_{G_i}(v)\ge \lfloor d_G(v)/k\rfloor$ for all vertices $v$ (reps. $d_{G_i}(v)\le \lceil d_G(v)/k\rceil$). As an application, we come up with a criterion to determine whether a highly edge-connected graph with $\delta(G)\ge \delta_1+\cdots+ \delta_m$ (resp. $\Delta(G)\le \Delta_1+\cdots+ \Delta_m$) can be edge-decomposed into factors $G_1,\ldots, G_m$ satisfying $\delta(G_i)\ge \delta_i$ (resp. $\Delta(G_i)\le \Delta_i$) for all $i$ with $1\le i \le m$, provided that $\delta_1+\cdots+ \delta_m$ is divisible by an odd number $p$ and $\delta_i\ge p-1\ge 2$ (resp. $\Delta_1+\cdots+ \Delta_m$ is divisible by $p$ and $\Delta_i\ge p-1\ge 2$). For graphs of even order, we replace an odd-edge-connectivity condition. In particular, for the special case $m=2$, we refine the needed odd-edge-connectivity further by giving a sufficient odd-edge-connectivity condition for a graph $G$ to have a partial parity factor $F$ such that for each vertex $v$ with a given parity constraint, $| d_{F}(v)-\varepsilon d_G(v)|< 2$, and for all other vertices $v$, $| d_{F}(v)-\varepsilon d_G(v)|\le 1$, where $\varepsilon $ is a real number and $0< \varepsilon < 1$. Finally we introduce another application on the existence of almost even factorizations of odd-edge-connected graphs.

Abstract:Let k be a positive integer. A k ‐cycle‐factor of an oriented graph is a set of disjoint cycles of length k that covers all vertices of the graph. In this paper, we prove that there exists a positive constant c such that for n sufficiently large, any oriented graph on n vertices with both minimum out‐degree and minimum in‐degree at least (1∕2−c)n contains a k ‐cycle‐factor for any k≥4 . Abstract:Let A be a set of connected graphs. Then a spanning subgraph A of G is called an A-factor if each component of A is isomorphic to some member of A. Especially, when every graph in A is a path, A is a path factor. For a positive integer d ≥ 2, we write P≥d = {Pi|i ≥ d}. Then a P≥d-factor means a path factor in which every component admits at least d vertices. A graph G is called a (P≥d,m)-factor deleted graph if G – E′ admits a P≥d-factor for any E′ ⊆ E(G) with |E′| = m. A graph G is called a (P≥d, k)-factor critical graph if G – Q has a P≥d-factor for any Q ⊆ V (G) with |Q| = k. In this paper, we present two degree conditions for graphs to be (P≥3,m)-factor deleted graphs and (P≥3, k)-factor critical graphs. Furthermore, we show that the two results are best possible in some sense.

Abstract:Win proved a very famous conclusion that states the graph G with connectivity ? (G), independence number a (G) and a (G) = ?(G) + k - 1 (k = 2) contains a spanning k-ended tree. This means that there exists a spanning tree with at most k leaves. In this paper, we strengthen the Win theorem to the following: Let G be a simple 2-connected graph such that |V(G) | = 2? (G) + k, a (G) = ?(G) + k (k = 2) and the number of maximum independent sets of cardinality ? + k is at most n - 2? - k + 1. Then, either G contains a spanning k-ended tree or a subgraph of K-? V ((k + ? - 1)K1U Kn-2?-k+1).
Cycle-factors in oriented graphs

Abstract:Let $k$ be a positive integer. A $k$-cycle-factor of an oriented graph is a set of disjoint cycles of length $k$ that covers all vertices of the graph. In this paper, we prove that there exists a positive constant $c$ such that for $n$ sufficiently large, any oriented graph on $n$ vertices with both minimum out-degree and minimum in-degree at least $(1/2-c)n$ contains a $k$-cycle-factor for any $k\geq4$. Additionally, under the same hypotheses, we also show that for any sequence $n_1, \ldots, n_t$ with $\sum^t_{i=1}n_i=n$ and the number of the $n_i$ equal to $3$ is $\alpha n$, where $\alpha$ is any real number with $0<\alpha<1/3$, the oriented graph contains $t$ disjoint cycles of lengths $n_1, \ldots, n_t$. This conclusion is the best possible in some sense and refines a result of Keevash and Sudakov.

Abstract:A graph of order $n$ is $p$-factor-critical, where $p$ is an integer of the same parity as $n$, if the removal of any set of $p$ vertices results in a graph with a perfect matching. 1-Factor-critical graphs and 2-factor-critical graphs are factor-critical graphs and bicritical graphs, respectively. It is well known that every connected vertex-transitive graph of odd order is factor-critical and every connected non-bipartite vertex-transitive graph of even order is bicritical. In this paper, we show that a simple connected vertex-transitive graph of odd order at least 5 is 3-factor-critical if and only if it is not a cycle.

Abstract:An edge-colored graph G is called properly connected if any two vertices are connected by a properly colored path. The proper connection number of a graph G, denoted by p c ( G ), is the smallest number of colors that are needed to color G such that it is properly connected. A separating vertex of G is bad if it is contained in at least three blocks, each of which contains at most three vertices. Let G be a graph of order n without bad vertices. In this paper, we show that if the degree sums of any three nonadjacent vertices of a graph G is at least 3 n / 4 and n > 48, then p c ( G ) = 2, which generalizes the results due to Borozan et al. (2012) and Chang et al. (2019).

Abstract:Let $G$ be a bipartite graph with bipartition $(X,Y)$, let $k$ be a positive integer, and let $f:V(G)\rightarrow \{-1,\ldots, k-2\}$ be a mapping with $\sum_{v\in X}f(v) \stackrel{k}{\equiv}\sum_{v\in Y}f(v)$. In this paper, we show that if $G$ is essentially $(3k-3)$-edge-connected and for each vertex $v$, $d_G(v)\ge 2k-1+f(v)$, then it admits a factor $H$ such that for each vertex $v$, $d_H(v)\stackrel{k}{\equiv} f(v)$, and $$\lfloor\frac{d_G(v)}{2}\rfloor-(k-1)\le d_{H}(v)\le \lceil\frac{d_G(v)}{2}\rceil+k-1.$$ Next, we generalize this result to general graphs and derive sufficient conditions for a highly edge-connected general graph $G$ to have a factor $H$ such that for each vertex $v$, $d_H(v)\in \{f(v),f(v)+k\}$. Finally, we show that every $(4k-1)$-edge-connected essentially $(6k-7)$-edge-connected graph admits a bipartite factor whose degrees are positive and divisible by $k$.

Abstract:Liu and Ma [J. Combin. Theory Ser. B, 2018] conjectured that every $2$-connected non-bipartite graph with minimum degree at least $k+1$ contains $\lceil k/2\rceil $ cycles with consecutive odd lengths. In particular, they showed that this conjecture holds when $k$ is even. In this paper, we confirm this conjecture for any $k\in \mathbb N$. Moreover, we also improve some previous results about cycles of consecutive lengths.

Abstract:A graph is called k -linked, if for any 2 k distinct vertices x 1 , x 2 , … , x k , y 1 , y 2 , … , y k , there exist k vertex disjoint paths P 1 , P 2 , … , P k such that P i connects x i and y i for each 1 ≤ i ≤ k . Robertson and Seymour showed that every 2 k -connected graph having K 3 k as a minor is k -linked. In 2005, Chen, Gould, Kawarabayashi, Pfender, and Wei proved that every 6-connected graph having K 9 − as a minor is 3-linked, where K k − i is the graph obtained from the complete graph with k vertices by deleting exactly i edges. We improve these two results by showing that every 2 k -connected graph having the graph obtained from K 3 k by deleting independent k edges as a minor is k -linked.
