Abstract:Dual-phase microstructural pipeline steels have the combination of high-strength and high-toughness to achieve the higher safety and reliability compared with traditional pipeline steels in seismic region. X100 High deformability (HD) pipeline steel is the highest grade deformability pipeline steel at present. In this paper mechanical properties and microstructure of X100 HD line pipe with different thermal aging processes were investigated. The results showed that Yield strength (YS) and YS/UTS ration of aged X100 HD line pipe increased compared with that of the untreated, but its CVN value decreased slightly. The stress-strain curves of aging specimens displayed the higher deformation hardening capacity, and there existed the obvious continuous yield platform before the maximum stress. These changes were derived to microstructural evolution during the thermal aging. A large number of small precipitates were found in the matrix of aging samples compared with that of the untreated. Small precipitate size gradually increased with the increase of aging temperature. Moreover, thermal aging induced dislocation movement and the dislocation density decreased in the matrix.
