Abstract:AbstractSelf-shrinkers are an important class of solutions to the mean curvature flow and their generalization is λ-hypersurfaces. In this paper, we study λ-hypersurfaces and give a rigidity result about complete λ-hypersurfaces.

Abstract:In this paper we study the regularity and singularity of the mean curvature flow of closed, smooth, embedded hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space with positive mean curvature, with an attempt to understand the geometry of first time singularities. First we consider the mean curvature flow of graphs and convex hypersurfaces. Then we consider the special blow-up solutions at the maximal mean curvature points and obtain self-similar solutions at type I singularities and translating solutions at type II singularities. Finally we show that a general blow-up sequence converges along a subsequence to a convex limit flow, and give a classification of ancient convex solutions. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification: 53C44, 53A10, 35J60.

Abstract:Let M 2 be a compact Willmore surface in the (2 + p )-dimensional unit sphere S 2 + p . Denote by H and S the mean curvature and the squared length of the second fundamental form of M 2 , respectively. Set ρ 2 = S −2 H 2 . In this note, we proved that there exists a universal positive constant C , such that if ∥ ρ 2 ∥ 2 < C , then ρ 2 =0 and M 2 is a totally umbilical sphere.

Abstract:An n-dimensional lambda-hypersurface X : M -> Rn+1 is the critical point of the weighted area functional integral(M) e(-1/4|X|2) d mu for weighted volume-preserving variations, which is also a generalization of the self-shrinking solution of the mean curvature flow. We first prove that if the L-n-norm of the second fundamental form of the lambda-hypersurface X : M -> Rn+1 with n >= 3 is less than an explicit positive constant K(n, lambda), then M is a hyperplane. Secondly, we show that if the L-n-norm of the trace-free second fundamental form of M with n >= 3 is less than an explicit positive constant D(n, lambda) and the mean curvature is suitably bounded, then M is a hyperplane. We also obtain similar results for lambda-surfaces in R-3 under L-4-curvature pinching conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate Yau's rigidity problem for compact submanifolds with parallel mean curvature in pinched Riemannian manifolds. Firstly, we prove that if M-n is an oriented closed minimal submanifold in an (n + p)-dimensional complete simply connected Riemannian manifold Nn(+p), then there exists a constant delta(0)(n, p) is an element of (0, 1) such that if the sectional curvature of N satisfies (K) over bar (N) is an element of[delta(0)(n, p), 1], and if M has a lower bound for the sectional curvature and an upper bound for the normalized scalar curvature, then N is isometric to Sn+p. Moreover, M is either a totally geodesic sphere, one of the Clifford minimal hypersurfaces S-k(root k/n) x S-n (k)(root n-k/n) in Sn+1 for k = 1,..., n-1, or the Veronese submanifold in Sn+d, where d = 1/2n(n + 1) - 1. We then generalize the above theorem to the case where M ia a compact submanifold with parallel mean curvature in a pinched Riemannian manifold.

Abstract:Under the hypothesis of mean curvature flows of hypersurfaces, we prove that the limit of the smooth rescaling of the singularity is weakly convex. It is a generalization of the result due to G. Huisken and C. Sinestrari in [5]. These a-priori bounds are satisfied for mean convex hypersurfaces in locally symmetric Riemannian manifolds with nonnegative sectional curvature.

Abstract:Let M be an n-dimensional oriented compact submanifold with parallel mean curvature in the unit sphere $S^{n+p}$. Denote by H and S the mean curvature and the squared length of the second fundamental form of M, respectively. We obtain a classification theorem of M if it satisfies $S+\lambda _2\le \alpha (n,H)$, where $\lambda _{2}$ is the second largest eigenvalue of the fundamental matrix and $\alpha (n,H)$ is defined as in Theorem B.

Abstract:In this paper we investigate the rigidity of ancient solutions of the mean curvature flow with arbitrary codimension in space forms. We first prove that under certain sharp asymptotic pointwise curvature pinching condition the ancient solution in a sphere is either a shrinking spherical cap or a totally geodesic sphere. Then we show that under certain pointwise curvature pinching condition the ancient solution in a hyperbolic space is a family of shrinking spheres. We also obtain a rigidity result for ancient solutions in a nonnegatively curved space form under an asymptotic integral curvature pinching condition.

Abstract:In this paper, we first investigate several rigidity problems for hypersurfaces in the warped product manifolds with constant linear combinations of higher order mean curvatures as well as “weighted” mean curvatures, which extend the work (Brendle in Publ Math Inst Hautes Études Sci 117:247–269, 2013 ; Brendle and Eichmair in J Differ Geom 94(94):387–407, 2013 ; Montiel in Indiana Univ Math J 48:711–748, 1999 ) considering constant mean curvature functions. Secondly, we obtain the rigidity results for hypersurfaces in the space forms with constant linear combinations of intrinsic Gauss–Bonnet curvatures L_k . To achieve this, we develop some new kind of Newton–Maclaurin type inequalities on L_k which may have independent interest.
On rigidity of hypersurfaces with constant shifted curvature functions in hyperbolic space

Abstract:In this paper, we first give some new characterizations of geodesic spheres in the hyperbolic space by the condition that hypersurface has constant weighted shifted mean curvatures, or constant weighted shifted mean curvature ratio, which generalize the result of Hu-Wei-Zhou \cite{HWZ23}. Secondly, we investigate several rigidity problems for hypersurfaces in the hyperbolic space with constant linear combinations of weighted shifted mean curvatures as well as radially symmetric shifted mean curvatures. As applications, we obtain the rigidity results for hypersurfaces with constant linear combinations of mean curvatures in a general form and constant Gauss-Bonnet curvature $L_k$ under weaker conditions, which extend the work of the third author and Xia \cite{WX14}.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain a rigidity result of $2$-dimensional complete lagrangian self-shrinkers with constant squared norm $|\vec{H}|^{2}$ of the mean curvature vector in the Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^{4}$. The same idea is also used to give a similar result of Lagrangian $\xi$-submanifolds in $\mathbb{R}^{4}$.

Abstract:By the integral method we prove that any space-like entire graphic self-shrinking solution to Lagrangian mean curvature flow in $\R^{2n}_{n}$ with the indefinite metric $\sum_i dx_idy_i$ is flat. This result improves the previous ones in \cite{HW} and \cite{CCY} by removing the additional assumption in their results. In a similar manner, we reprove its Euclidean counterpart which is established in \cite{CCY}.

Abstract:In this note we prove a global rigidity result for asymptotically flat, scalar flat Euclidean hypersurfaces with a minimal horizon lying in a hyperplane, under a natural ellipticity condition. As a consequence we obtain, in the context of the Riemannian Penrose conjecture, a local rigidity result for the family of exterior Schwarzschild solutions (viewed as graphs in Euclidean space).

Abstract:We establish Łojasiewicz inequalities for a class of cylindrical self-shrinkers for the mean curvature flow, which includes round cylinders and cylinders over Abresch-Langer curves, in any codimension. We deduce the uniqueness of blowups at singularities modelled on this class of cylinders, and that any such cylinder is isolated in the space of self-shrinkers. The Abresch-Langer case answers a conjecture of Colding-Minicozzi. Our proof uses direct perturbative analysis of the shrinker mean curvature, so it is new even for round cylinders.

Abstract:International Journal of Mathematics, Ahead of Print. In this paper, we investigate the rigidity of self-shrinkers in a Euclidean space [math]. We first prove that any self-shrinker [math] with constant squared norm of the second fundamental form and with at most two distinct principal curvatures is an open part of a hyperplane [math], a cylinder [math] or the round sphere [math]. Then, it can be applied to show that any complete self-shrinker [math] with constant squared norm of the second fundamental form and with at most two distinct principal curvatures is isometric to a hyperplane [math], a cylinder [math] [math] or the round sphere [math]. Finally, some characterizations of self-shrinkers with constant mean curvature in [math] are also obtained.

Abstract:We study the weak stability index of an immersion ϕ: M → Sn+1 (1) ⊂ Rn+2 of an n-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold. We prove that the weak stability index of a compact hypersurface M with constant scalar curvature in Sn+1 (1), which is not totally umbilical, is greater than or equal to n + 2 if the mean curvature H1 and H3 are constant, and that the equality holds if and only if M is $\smash{S^m(c)\times S^{n-m}(\sqrt{1-c^2})}$. As an application, we show that the weak stability index of an n-dimensional compact hypersurface with constant scalar curvature in Sn+1 (1), which is neither totally umbilical nor a Clifford hypersurface, is greater than or equal to 2n + 4 if the mean curvature H1 and H3 are constant.
