Abstract:In this note, the authors carry over the tensor Bezoutian for polynomial matrices to the case of a general polynomial basis. Some of important properties, such as the Barnett-type factorization, the expressions in terms of controllability- and observability-type matrices, and some intertwining relations with companion matrices and resultant matrices, are characterized.

Abstract:The bases{(αn)_i~(z)=(1±z)n-i(1■z)i,0≤i≤n}of linear polynomial space C_(n+1)[z]were constructed from a bilinear transformation function.The resultant matrices and generalized Bezoutians for polynomials under such bases were investigated.The greatest common divisor of two polynomials were computed in terms of the resultant matrices.Two fast algorithm formulas for the elements of generalized Bezoutians of order nwere given,and the costs of the algorithms were o(n~2).Connections between these two classes of matrices were also discussed.

Abstract:In order to extend the connections between the (classical) Sylvester resultant matrix and Bezout matrix to the circumstance for the Bernstein polynomials basis, a kind of generalized Sylvester resultant matrix and Bezout matrix with respect to the Bernstein polynomials basis are defined. They have not only theoretical interest, but also preserve the original similar relations between these two kinds of matrices when the power basis is replaced by Bernstein polynomials basis. Since the transformation matrix between the Bernstein and power polynomials bases is ill-conditioned, so the paper mainly focuses on the theoretical research instead of the computational consideration.

Abstract:The Bernstein Bezoutian with respect to the Bernstein polynomials basis is investigated. A general linear control system under the Bernstein polynomials basis is established from the classical one, and a kind of generalized controllability/observability matrices are constructed. Connections between Bernstein Bezoutian and generalized controllability/observability matrices are discussed. Some results for polynomial stability in terms of the Bernstein Bezoutian are obtained, which generalize the corresponding classical Fujiwara-Hermite and Routh-Hurwitz criteria.

Abstract:The author constructed a class of Sylvester-type resultant matrix for the special polynomial basis generated by a bilinear transformation function,and discussed mainly the connections between the Sylvester-type resultant matrix and generalized Bezoutian under such basis.It turned out that these new properties of their connections also kept the similar forms as the ones for the standard power basis and they could be viewed as the extension of classic results on their connections.

Abstract:In polynomial and linear control systems, the Lienard-Chipart stability criterion plays an important role in the judgment of the zeros of a real polynomial based on the inertia of a Bezout matrix. In this paper we consider the case in the Bernstein polynomials basis. First, the Bernstein Bezout matrix and some important properties are introduced, and then a generalized perturbations of a real polynomial under the Bernstein polynomials basis is considered. Finally, a generalized Lienard-Chipart stability criterion in terms of the Bernstein Bezout matrix is established.

Abstract:A real representation of complex polynomial matrices in the framework of conjugate product is first proposed, and some interesting properties of the proposed real representation are given. With the real representations as tools, alternative proofs for some properties of conjugate product are given. In addition, the concept of real determinant is proposed for complex polynomial matrices in the framework of conjugate product, and based on the real determinant the invertibility in the framework of conjugate product is investigated. These results imply that the proposed real representation has potential applications in the further investigation of conjugate product.

In this paper, introduces firstly a concept of polynomial coefficient matrix, and then the polynomial multiplication is masterly changed into the computing of matrix multiplication. Then a theorem is received. Throughout the process, the steps are very clear and the calculating is pretty simple. At the same time, the polynomial division, under certain conditions, is also made a more in-depth analysis and accessed to a similar conclusion. Abstract:This paper tackles the problem of constructing Bezout matrices for Newton polynomials in a basis-preserving approach that operates directly with the given Newton basis, thus avoiding the need for transformation from Newton basis to monomial basis. This approach significantly reduces the computational cost and also mitigates numerical instability caused by basis transformation. For this purpose, we investigate the internal structure of Bezout matrices in Newton basis and design a basis-preserving algorithm that generates the Bezout matrix in the specified basis used to formulate the input polynomials. Furthermore, we show an application of the proposed algorithm on constructing confederate resultant matrices for Newton polynomials. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed methods perform superior to the basis-transformation-based ones.

Abstract:<p>In this paper we associate a class of Hurwitz matrix polynomials with Stieltjes positive definite matrix sequences. This connection leads to an extension of two classical criteria of Hurwitz stability for real polynomials to matrix polynomials: tests for Hurwitz stability via positive definiteness of block-Hankel matrices built from matricial Markov parameters and via matricial Stieltjes continued fractions. We obtain further conditions for Hurwitz stability in terms of block-Hankel minors and quasiminors, which may be viewed as a weak version of the total positivity criterion.</p>

Abstract:In Chap. 6, a kind of real representations for complex matrices has been used to investigate some complex conjugate matrix equations, such as the normal con-Sylvester equations, the con-Yakubovich equations, and the generalized con-Sylvester equations. A basic feature of the approaches in Chap. 6 is that the basic solutions of these matrix equations are obtained by indirectly using the results of their corresponding real representation matrix equations. In this chapter, polynomial matrices are used to investigate some complex conjugate matrix equations. In such a framework, it is not necessary to use relevant results on some matrix equations without the conjugate of the unknown matrices. © 2017, Springer Science+Business Media Singapore.
