Abstract:In this paper, a fuzzy control method is proposed for a class of fractional-order chaotic systems. The dynamics of the system are unknown and are perturbed by the external disturbances. Also, the value of the fractional-order is assumed to be unknown. The type-2 fuzzy systems (T2FSs) are employed to estimate the unknown functions in the dynamics of the system. The parameters of T2FS and the value of fractional-order are estimated by unscented Kalman filter. The upper bound of the approximation error is online estimated, and a new fractional-order compensator is designed to eliminate the effect of the uncertainties and to guarantee the closed-loop stability. The effectiveness of the proposed method is shown by simulations, and the results are compared with some other techniques. It is shown that the proposed method results in better performance in the presence of unknown fractional-order and unknown perturbed dynamics.

Abstract:In the paper, H∞ and robust H∞ control for fractional order systems (FOS) with order 0<α<1 are studied. Firstly, necessary and sufficient conditions of H∞ control and state feedback controller design are proposed. Then, robust H∞ control for FOS with uncertainty is studied, and state feedback controller is designed. These conditions are based on linear matrix inequalities (LMI) and can be easily solved by the LMI toolbox. Finally, the effectiveness of these conditions is verified by two numerical examples.

Abstract:This paper deals with the stabilization of a class of commensurate fractional order uncertain nonlinear systems. The fractional order system concerned is of the strict-feedback form with uncertain nonlinearity. An adaptive control scheme combined with fractional order update laws is proposed by extending classical backstepping control to fractional order backstepping scheme. The asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system is guaranteed under the construction of fractional Lyapunov functions in the sense of generalized Mittag-Leffler stability. The fractional order nonlinear system investigated can be stabilized asymptotically globally in presence of arbitrary uncertainty. Finally illustrative examples and numerical simulations are performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Abstract:In this paper, robust H∞ control for fractional-order switched systems (FOSSs) with uncertainty is studied. Firstly, the fractional-order switching law for FOSSs is proposed. Then, H∞ control for FOSSs is proven based on the switching law and linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Moreover, H∞ control for FOSSs with a state feedback controller is extended. Furthermore, the LMI-based condition of robust H∞ control for FOSSs with uncertainty is proven. Furthermore, the condition of robust H∞ control is proposed to design the state feedback controller. Finally, four simulation examples verified the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the stabilization problem for a class of uncertain nonlinear fractional order systems described by an interval type-2 fuzzy model, under actuator faults. To solve the problem, a robust fault-tolerant control (FTC) scheme composed mainly of an augmented non-fragile observer and a new-type controller is developed. The resulting control system is with the following advantages. On the one hand, the system stability domain is extended significantly, attributed to introducing the concept of D-stability to the control design and stability analysis, instead of the conventional indirect Lyapunov theory. Theoretically, the stability domain can be expanded from the original half-plane to nearly the overall plane. On the other hand, the control system is robust against the measurement noise and external disturbances which however are not taken into account in the related works. This is achieved by adopting the control method in a novel way, in which a new technical lemma is presented to solve real linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). In this way, the robust FTC design is also simplified, wherein the number of the required decision variables is reduced from four to two. Besides, the control design is less restrictive: three common requirements for the system matrix or the control gain selection are eliminated. Finally, the simulation results on an electrical circuit system and a numeral example both illustrate the above theoretical findings.

Then, a control scheme based on fractional-order reaching law is proposed to make the resulting control system reach the sliding mode surface in a finite time. The effectiveness of proposed methods is illustrated by a numerical simulation example.

Moreover, the order is also uncertain and belongs to an interval containing the integer one. This kind of system models are reasonable results of fractional order system identifications. In this note, we derive the robust stability analysis and synthesis of such uncertain fractional order systems. Two numerical examples are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and potential of the developed theoretical results.

Abstract:Since most physical systems always contain various uncertainties, these bring difficulties to robust stability analysis and controller design of thesystems. Therefore, it is significant in practice to do research on the control theory of uncertain fractional-order systems. This paper considers robuststability for a class of fractional order uncertain systems with interval perturbations. Necessary and sufficient conditions based on the representation for aninterval matrix and μ-analysis tools are obtained. Two examples are given to illustrate the proposed results. Numerical simulations show the effectivenessof the proposed method.
