Design of Customer Power Quality Monitor Based on Network Technology

Abstract:Main power quality(PQ)problems influencing customers directly emerge in distribution system or at low voltage sides in power systems. But up to the present, most practical PQ monitors are either located at high or medium voltage sides or simply portable instruments.Both of the current conditions can not fulfill the PQ monitoring requirements of common customers . After analysing correlative PQ indices to common customers, the paper points out that the whole PQ level could be enhanced through the collection and analysis of voltage signal in electrical outlet. Finally idea of PQ monitoring fit for common customers is proposed and the network configuration and key technology are discussed.
