Abstract:In this paper we characterize when the product of two block Toeplitz operators is a compact perturbation of a block Toeplitz operator on the Hardy space of the open unit disk. Necessary and suucient conditions are given for the commu-tator of two block Toeplitz operators to be compact.

Abstract:A truncated Toeplitz operator is the compression of a classical Toeplitz operator on the Hardy space to a model space. A truncated Hankel operator is the compression of a Hankel operator on the Hardy space to the orthogonal complement of a model space. We study the product of a truncated Hankel operator and a truncated Toeplitz operator, and characterize when such a product is zero or compact.

Abstract:In this paper we completely characterize finite rank semicommutator or commutator of two Toeplitz operators with bounded harmonic symbols on the Bergman space. We show that if the product of two Toeplitz operators with bounded harmonic symbols has finite rank, then one of the Toeplitz operators must be zero.

Abstract:We consider the dual Toeplitz operators acting on the orthogonal complements of Hardy–Sobolev spaces of the unit ball. We first characterize the compactness of finite sums of dual Toeplitz products. Using this result, we next study the problem of when finite sums of products of two dual Toeplitz operators is another dual Toeplitz operator. Our results extend several known results on the Dirichlet spaces to the Hardy–Sobolev spaces.

Abstract:We study compactness of product of Toeplitz operators with symbols continuous on the closure of the polydisc in terms of behavior of the symbols on the boundary. For certain classes of symbols $f$ and $g$, we show that $T_fT_g$ is compact if and only if $fg$ vanishes on the boundary. We provide examples to show that for more general symbols, the vanishing of $fg$ on the whole polydisc might not imply the compactness of $T_fT_g$. On the other hand, the reverse direction is closely related to the zero product problem for Toeplitz operators on the unit disc, which is still open.

B is called the skew commutator of A if In this paper, we completely characterize when a Toeplitz operator on the Hardy space is a skew commutator of a Hankel operator and when a Hankel operator on the Hardy space is a skew commutator of a Toeplitz operator. Moreover, we also obtain a necessary and sufficient condition for the product of a Hankel operator and a Toeplitz operator to be self-adjoint on the Hardy space.

A distribution function inequality is established for the generalized area function. Abstract:We study infinite multiplicative Toeplitz matrices and Toeplitz operators on the Hardy space H^2(𝕋^∞) over the infinite-dimensional polydisc. This pair is a companion to the pair of Toeplitz matrices and Toeplitz operators on the Hardy space over the unit disc. We obtain a Brown- Halmos type theorem and the spectral inclusion theorem. The conditions for the semi-commutator T_fT_g-T_fg of Toeplitz operators T_f and T_g to be of finite rank are obtained if one of ƒ and g depends only on finitely many variables. It is also shown that the Toeplitz algebra 𝒯^F_∞ generated by Toeplitz operators with bounded symbols depending only on finitely many variables on H^2(𝕋^∞) doesn’t contain any nonzero compact operator. In particular, the Toeplitz algebra generated by Toeplitz operators with continuous symbols on H^2(𝕋^∞) , as a C * -subalgebra of 𝒯^F_∞ , contains no nonzero compact operators, and this is in sharp contrast to the case of finite-dimensional polydiscs. Moreover, the symbolic calculus for the Toeplitz algebra generated by all bounded Toeplitz operators is established.

Abstract:In this paper, we study some characterizations of the Toeplitz and Hankel operators with positive operator-valued function as symbol on the vector-valued Fock-type spaces. We first discuss that the Bergman projection is bounded for all , and obtain the duality of the vector-valued Fock-type spaces. Second, using operator-valued Carleson conditions, we give a complete characterization of the boundedness and compactness of the Toeplitz operators on $F^p_{\Psi }({\mathcal {H}})(1<p<\infty )$ . Finally, we describe the boundedness (or compactness) of the Hankel operators and on in terms of a bounded (or vanishing) mean oscillation. We also give geometrical descriptions for the operator-valued spaces and defined in terms of the Berezin transform.</p

Abstract:In this paper we investigate when a finite sum of products of two Toeplitz operators with quasihomogeneous symbols is a finite rank perturbation of another Toeplitz operator on the Bergman space. We discover a noncommutative convolution $\diamond$ on the space of quasihomogeneous functions and use it in solving the problem. Our main results show that if $F_j, G_j$ ($1\leq j\leq N$) are polynomials of $z$ and $\bar{z}$ then $\sum_{j=1}^{N}T_{F_j}T_{G_j}-T_{H}$ is a finite rank operator for some $L^{1}$-function $H$ if and only if $\sum_{j=1}^{N}F_j\diamond G_j$ belongs to $L^1$ and $H=\sum_{j=1}^{N}F_j\diamond G_j$. In the case $F_j$'s are holomorphic and $G_j$'s are conjugate holomorphic, it is shown that $H$ is a solution to a system of first order partial differential equations with a constraint.
