Abstract:In this paper, we establish the existence of viscosity solutions of Hessian equations with singular right-hand sides and obtain the asymptotic boundary behavior of solutions. The asymptotic results generalize those for Poisson equations and Monge-Ampère equations, and are more precise than obtained from Hopf lemma.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate positive solutions of the degenerate parabolic equation not in divergence form: ut=upΔu+auq−bur, subject to the null Dirichlet boundary condition. We at first discuss the existence and nonexistence of global solutions to the problem, and then study the large time behavior for the global solutions. When the positive source dominates the model, we prove that the global solutions uniformly tend to the positive steady state of the problem as t→∞. In particular, we establish the uniform asymptotic profiles for the decay solutions when the problem is governed by the nonlinear diffusion or absorption.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the Hessian equation with infinite Dirichlet (blow-up) boundary value conditions. Using radial functions and techniques of ordinary differential inequality, we construct various barrier functions (super-solution and subsolution). Existence and non-existence theorems are proved by those barriers, maximum principle and theory of viscous solutions. Furthermore, generic boundary blow-up rates for the solutions are derived.

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly study the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the following problems u ± a(x)| ∇ u|^q = b(x)f(u), x ∈Ω, u|_∂Ω = + ∞ , where Ω is a bounded domain with a smooth boundary in ℝ^N (N ≥ 2) , q > 0, a ∈ C^α(Ω̅) is positive in Ω, and b ∈ C^α(Ω̅) is nonnegative in Ω and may be vanishing on the boundary. We assume that f is Γ-varying at ∞, whose variation at ∞ is not regular. Our analysis is based on the sub-supersolution method and Karamata regular variation theory.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the following nonperiodic Hamiltonian elliptic system {−ε2△u+V(x)u=Hu(x,u,v)inRN,−ε2△v+V(x)v=−Hv(x,u,v)inRN,u(x)→0andv(x)→0as|x|→∞, where ε>0 is a small parameter, and the potential V is bounded below, and H is asymptotically linear in z as |z|→∞ with z=(u,v). By applying a generalized linking theorem of strongly indefinite functionals, we obtain the existence of multiple semiclassical solutions for the above system.

Abstract:The existence and nonexistence of the Gamma-subharmonic solutions for the complex Hessian equations with infinite Dirichlet boundary value are proved in the certain bounded domain in C-n. We calculate the k-Hessian of the radially symmetric function and use radial functions to construct various barrier functions in this paper. Moreover, it is shown that the growth rate conditions are nearly optimal.

Abstract:In this paper, we focus on the existence of positive solutions for a singular Hessian equation with a negative augmented term. By finding more appropriate upper and lower solutions, we not only overcome the difficulty due to the negative augmented term but also remove a critical condition required in the existing work and establish new results for the existence of positive solutions of the equations under study. Our results improve and complement many existing works.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the asymptotic behaviour of global classical solutions of diagonalizable quasilinear hyperbolic systems with linearly degenerate characteristic fields. Based on the existence results of global classical solutions, we prove that when t tends to infinity, the solution approaches a combination of C-1 travelling wave solutions, provided that L-1 boolean AND L-infinity norm of the initial data as well as its derivative are bounded.
