Abstract:The boundary differentiability is shown for solutions of elliptic differential equations in non-divergence form on convex domains. Counterexamples are given to illustrate that the result is optimal in the sense that gradients of solutions exist but may be discontinuous along boundaries.

Abstract:We obtain the pointwise boundary differentiability of strong solutions for elliptic equations with the lower order coefficients, the boundary, and the right-hand side term satisfying a Dini type condition. Furthermore, we establish a pointwise estimate of strong solutions and show that the gradients of the strong solutions are continuous along the boundary if the drift term, the boundary, and the right-hand side term satisfy a uniform Dini type condition on the boundary.

Abstract:The lateral boundary differentiability is shown for solutions of parabolic differential equations in nondivergence form under the assumptions that the parabolic boundary satisfies the exterior Dini condition and is punctually C1 differentiable one-sided in t-direction. The classical barrier technique, the maximum principle, the interior Harnack inequality and an iteration procedure are the main analytical tools.

Abstract:In this paper, we give pointwise geometric conditions on the boundary which guarantee the differentiability of the solution at the boundary. Precisely, the geometric conditions are two parts: the proper blow up condition (see Definition 1) and the exterior Dini hypersurface condition (see Definition 2). If $\varOmega $ satisfies this two conditions at $x_0\in \partial \varOmega $, the solution is differentiable at $x_0$. Furthermore, counterexamples show that the conditions are optimal (see Remark 3 and the counterexample in Section 2).

Abstract:In this paper, we will study the differentiability on the boundary of solutions of elliptic non-divergence differential equations on convex domains. The results are divided into two cases: (i) at the boundary points where the blow-up of the domain is not the half-space, if the boundary function is differentiable then the solution is differentiable; (ii) at the boundary points where the blow-up of the domain is the half-space, the differentiability of the solution needs an extra Dini condition for the boundary function. Counterexample is given to show that our results are optimal.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the pointwise boundary Lipschitz regularity of solutions for the semilinear elliptic equations in divergence form mainly under some weaker assumptions on nonhomogeneous term and the boundary. If the domain satisfies C-1,C-Dini condition at a boundary point, and the nonhomogeneous term satisfies Dini continuity condition and Lipschitz Newtonian potential condition, then the solution is Lipschitz continuous at this point. Furthermore, we generalize this result to Reifenberg C-1,C-Dini domains.

Abstract:In this paper we study the Dirichlet problem of a class of nonlinear elliptic equations which includes Monge–Ampère equation, K-Hessian equation and the usual linear elliptic equation. This problem becomes singular near the boundary of the domain. By carefully constructing sub-solutions we obtain the boundary Hölder estimate for the convex solution to the problem when the domain satisfies exterior sphere condition.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the existence of positive solutions for singular elliptic equations with mixed Dirichlet-Neumann boundary conditions involving Sobolev-Hardy critical exponents and Hardy terms by using the concentration compactness principle, the strong maximum principle and the Mountain Pass lemma. We also prove, under complementary conditions, that there is no nontrivial solution if the domain is star-shaped with respect to the origin.

Abstract:In this paper, we are concerned with the nonlinear elliptic systems in divergence form under controllable growth condition. We prove that the weak solution u is locally Hölder continuous besides a singular set by using the direct method and classical Morrey-type estimates. Here the Hausdorff dimension of the singular set is less than n-p{n-p}. This result not only holds in the interior, but also holds up to the boundary.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish the pointwise boundary differentiability on Reifenberg domains for viscosity solutions of fully nonlinear elliptic equations which extends the result under the usual $$C^{1,\mathrm {Dini}}$$ condition and generalizes the result for linear equations in Huang et al (Manuscr. Math 162(3–4):305–313, 2020). Moreover, our proofs are relatively simple.

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly study the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the following problems u ± a(x)| ∇ u|^q = b(x)f(u), x ∈Ω, u|_∂Ω = + ∞ , where Ω is a bounded domain with a smooth boundary in ℝ^N (N ≥ 2) , q > 0, a ∈ C^α(Ω̅) is positive in Ω, and b ∈ C^α(Ω̅) is nonnegative in Ω and may be vanishing on the boundary. We assume that f is Γ-varying at ∞, whose variation at ∞ is not regular. Our analysis is based on the sub-supersolution method and Karamata regular variation theory.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the boundary pointwise $C^{0}$-regularity of weak solutions for Dirichlet problem of elliptic equations in divergence form with distributional coefficients, where the boundary value equals to zero. This is a generalization of the interior case. If $\Omega$ satisfies some measure condition at one boundary point, the bilinear mapping $\langle V\cdot,\cdot\rangle$ generalized by distributional coefficient $V$ can be controlled by a constant sufficiently small, the nonhomogeneous terms satisfy some Dini decay conditions, then the solution is continuous at this point in the $L^{2}$ sense.

Mixed type boundary value problem of elliptic equation in a thin domain

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the a priori estimates for two-dimensional second order homogeneous linear elliptic equations in a narrow region. In a crescent-shaped area, part of the boundary is subject to an oblique derivative boundary condition, while the other part of the boundary is subject to a Dirichlet boundary condition. We show that, as the crescent-shaped area collapses into a segment under suitable conditions, the boundary value problem obeys uniform Schauder estimates and induces an asymptotic estimate.
