Abstract:As a promising cathode material of the rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, LiFePO4 still suffers from the sluggish Li-ion solid-state diffusion caused by the one-dimensional ion transfer channel and Fe-Li antisite defect, seriously affecting the release of the power performance. Herein, a modified polyol method is proposed to prepare nanosized LFP/C materials under the condition of over-boiling. In this approach, the superheat temperature (Delta T), as the single variable, is employed to regulate and control the crystal orientation, morphology and the anti-site defect quantity of the LFP/C samples. Benefiting from more exposed (101) crystal face and limited Fe-Li anti-site defects, LFP/C2 demonstrates the highest Li-ion diffusion coefficient, thus achieving the excellent rate and cycling performances. Remarkably, the initial capacity of 110 mAh g(-1) and decay rate of 0.026% per cycle during 1500 cycles are obtained, even under the current rate of 40C. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
