Abstract:Let G be some generalized -soluble groups and F be a Fitting set of G. In this paper, we prove the existence and conjugacy of F-injectors of G and give a description of the structure of the injectors.

Abstract:We prove that if F is a non-empty Fitting class, pi = pi(F) and G is a group such that every chief factor of G/G(F) is an E-pi(N)-group, then G has at least one F-injector and any two F-injectors are conjugate in G. This result is used to resolve an open problem and generalize some known results.

Abstract:Over a ring R, let P(R) be a finitely generated projective right R-module. Then we define the G-injector (G-projector) if P(R) preservers Gorenstein injective modules (Gorenstein projective modules), the G-flator if P(R) preservers Gorenstein flat modules. G-injector (G-flator) and G-injector are characterized focus primarily on the cases where R is a Gorenstein ring, and under this condition we also study the relations between the injector (projector, flator) and the G-injector (G-projector, G-flator). Over any ring we also give the characteristics of G-injector (G-flator) by the Gorenstein injective (Gorenstein flat) dimensions of modules.

Abstract:In this paper we consider the Fitting subgroup $F(G)$ of a finite group $G$ and its generalizations: the quasinilpotent radical $F^*(G)$ and the generalized Fitting subgroup $\tilde{F}(G)$ defined by $\tilde{F}(G)\supseteq \Phi(G)$ and $\tilde{F}(G)/\Phi(G)=Soc(G/\Phi(G))$. We sum up known properties of $\tilde{F}(G)$ and suggest some new ones. Let $R$ be a subgroup of a group $G$. We shall call a subgroup $H$ of $G$ the $R$-subnormal subgroup if $H$ is subnormal in $ \langle H,R\rangle$. In this work the influence of $R$-subnormal subgroups (maximal, Sylow, cyclic primary) on the structure of finite groups are studied in the case when $R\in\{F(G), F^*(G),\tilde{F}(G)\}$.

We call a subgroup H of G F n-supplemented in G if there exists a normal subgroup K of G such that G = HK and (H ∩ K)H G/H G is contained in the F-hypercenter Z F ∞(G/H G) of G/H G. In this paper, we use F n-supplemented subgroups to study the structure of finite groups. Some known results in the literature are generalized. © 2008 World Scientific Publishing Company.

Abstract:We introduce the concept of higher $F$-injectivity, a generalisation of $F$-injectivity. We prove that an isolated singularity over a field of characteristic zero is $k$-Du Bois if it is $k$-$F$-injective after reductions modulo infinitely many primes $p$. Under the ordinarity conjecture, we also establish the converse. As an application, we study Frobenius liftable hypersurfaces.

Abstract:Let F be a class of groups. A subgroup H of a group G is called F-s-supplemented in G if there exists a subgroup K of G such that G = HK and K/K boolean AND H-G belongs to F. We obtain some results about the F-s-supplemented subgroups and use them to determine the structure of some groups. In particular, some new criteria of p-nilpotency, solubility, supersolubility of a group are obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish the theory of F-centrality of chief factors and F-hypercentre for Fitting classes. Based on this, we prove that every F-injector of G covers each F-central chief factor of G and avoids each F-eccentric chief factor of G if the Fitting class F has an integrated and invariable H-function. As an application, we also give a new method to define local Fitting classes, that is, we use local functions but not H-functions to define local Fitting classes.

Abstract:Let f(x) be a non-zero polynomial with integer coefficients. An automorphism φ of a group G is said to satisfy the elementary abelian identity f(x) if the linear transformation induced by φ on every characteristic elementary abelian section of G is annihilated by f(x). We prove that if a finite (soluble) group G admits a fixed-point-free automorphism φ satisfying an elementary abelian identity f(x), where f(x) is a primitive polynomial, then the Fitting height of G is bounded in terms of deg⁡(f(x)). We also prove that if f(x) is any non-zero polynomial and G is a σ′-group for a finite set of primes σ=σ(f(x)) depending only on f(x), then the Fitting height of G is bounded in terms of the number irr(f(x)) of different irreducible factors in the decomposition of f(x). These bounds for the Fitting height are stronger than the well-known bounds in terms of the composition length α(|φ|) of 〈φ〉 when deg⁡f(x) or irr(f(x)) is small in comparison with α(|φ|).

Abstract:We first determine in this paper the structure of the generalized Fitting subgroup F * ( G ) of the finite groups G all of whose defect groups (of blocks) are conjugate under the automorphism group Aut( G ) to either a Sylow p -subgroup or a fixed p -subgroup of G . Then we prove that if a finite group L acts transitively on the set of its proper Sylow p -intersections, then either L/O p ( L ) has a T.I. Sylow p -subgroup or p = 2 and the normal closure of a Sylow 2-subgroup of L/O 2 ( L ) is 2-nilpotent with completely descripted structure. This solves a long-open problem. We also obtain some generalizations of the classic results by Isaacs and Passman on half-transitivity.

Abstract:In this paper, Gorenstein FP-injective modules are introduced and studied. An R-module M is called Gorenstein FP-injective if there is an exact sequence ... -> E-1 -> E-0 -> E-0 -> E-1 -> ... of injective R-modules with M = ker(E-0 -> E-1) and such that Hom(E,-) leaves the sequence exact whenever E is an FP-injective R-module. Some properties of Gorenstein FP-injective and Gorenstein flat modules over coherent rings are obtained. Several known results are extended.

Abstract:This paper explores the structure groups G ( X , r ) of finite non-degenerate set-theoretic solutions ( X , r ) to the Yang–Baxter equation. Namely, we construct a finite quotient $\overline {G}_{(X,r)}$ of G ( X , r ) , generalizing the Coxeter-like groups introduced by Dehornoy for involutive solutions. This yields a finitary setting for testing injectivity: if X injects into G ( X , r ) , then it also injects into $\overline {G}_{(X,r)}$ . We shrink every solution to an injective one with the same structure group, and compute the rank of the abelianization of G ( X , r ) . We show that multipermutation solutions are the only involutive solutions with diffuse structure groups; that only free abelian structure groups are bi-orderable; and that for the structure group of a self-distributive solution, the following conditions are equivalent: bi-orderable, left-orderable, abelian, free abelian and torsion free.

Abstract:Let G be a finite group and F a saturated formation of finite groups. We say that G is quasi-F-group if for every F-eccentric chief factor H/K of G and every x. G, x induces an inner automorphism on H/K. In particular, we have the concepts of quasisoluble, quasisupersoluble, quasimetanilpotent groups, and so on. In this article, we obtain some results about the quasi-F-groups and use them to give the conditions under which a group is quasisoluble, quasimetanilpotent, or quasisupersoluble.

Abstract:To every group of I-type, we associate a finite quotient group that plays the role that Coxeter groups play for Artin–Tits groups. Since groups of I-type are examples of Garside groups, this answers a question of D. Bessis in the particular case of groups of I-type. Groups of I-type are related to finite set-theoretical solutions of the Yang–Baxter equation. So, our result provides a new tool to attack the problem of the classification of finite set-theoretical solutions of the Yang–Baxter equation.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to determine the structure and to establish the isomorphic invariant of the finitely generated nilpotent group G of infinite cyclic commutator subgroup. Using the structure and invariant of the group which is the central extension of a cyclic group by a free abelian group of finite rank of infinite cyclic center, we provide a decomposition of G as the product of a generalized extraspecial ℤ-group and its center. By using techniques of lifting isomorphisms of abelian groups and equivalent normal form of the generalized extraspecial ℤ-groups, we finally obtain the structure and invariants of the group G.

Abstract:Let Z p be a group of order p and G≀Zp the regular wreath product of the group G with Z p . A Fitting class F is said to be X -quasinormal if there exists a natural number m such that Gm≀Zp∈F whenever F⊆X , p is a prime, G∈F and G≀Zp∈X . In this paper, we generalize the well known theorem of Blessenohl and Gaschütz and prove that the intersection of any set of nonidentity X -quasinormal Fitting classes is a nonidentity X -quasinormal Fitting class. For a Fitting class F , we also discuss the relation between its X -normality and its X -quasinormality, and give the condition of X*=X⊛ , where " * " is Lockett star operation and X⊛ is the smallest nonidentity X -quasinormal Fitting class.
