Abstract:A new integral equation about charge distribution on conductor surface is presented in this paper and singular integration is calculated.Numerical results on sphere and spherical cap are in good agreement with the corresponding analytic results.

Abstract:Applying the finite difference method,the numerical simulation of the surface charge density of a finite conductor stick is presented.It turns out that not only curvature radius of the conductor surface but also the shape of it and the other conductor around it have influences on its surface charge density.

Abstract:This work concentrates on a TM-polarisation plane wave scattered by various multiple strip-loaded cylindrical chiral objects. The two-dimensional electric dyadic Green's functions in multi-layered cylindrical chiral media are derived according to the scattering superposition principle. Then the direct singular integral equation has been formulated for describing the electric current distributions on the multiple strips. Numerical investigations has been performed to demonstrate the far-zone field characteristics with the changing of geometrical dimensions and constitutive parameters of strip loaded cylindrical chiral objects.

Abstract:In this paper, the singularity in the integrand of electrical field integral equation (EFIE) for 3-dimensionalvector fields scattering is first analyzed. Two numerical metods for solving the singularity integral equation are developed.One method is the singularity transferring method for calculating integral value containing O(1/R) singularity in its integrand[1];. The other singularity is removed first and the integral contribution of this small area is proved to be zero. Thus, theintegral on the whole integral area can be calculated properly by using numberical method.

Abstract:The evaluation of the Sommerfeld integrals (SIs) has been considered by the quasi-analytical formulas simulating electromagnetic field propagating along the planar surface over a dielectric-coated conductor. The lateral wave and trapped surface wave are resulted from the branch-cut integration and contribution of pole-residue by complex integration, respectively. As a simple but efficient approach, we derive the complex determination equation for poles into a set of equations with real numbers. This technique would eradicate the redundancy roots arose from numerical root finding algorithm, and also provide with some help in extending previous studies into thick-dielectriccoating case.

Abstract:A new method to calculate the electric field inside a spherical shell with surface charge in terms of solid angle is presented. The integral can be readily carried out without invoking special functions typically used for this classical problem. For a flat surface of uniform charge density, the electric field normal to the surface is shown to be proportional to the solid angle subtended by the surface only.

Abstract:In this paper, a random numbers model using an innovative equiperipheral grid in cylindrical coordinates has been proposed to predict the contact spot distribution of two rough surfaces at various loads. The ability of this method to predict the contact spot distribution has been proven through comparison with results using a conventional equiangular grid. Further, a network method using such an equiperipheral grid has been developed in order to solve a three-dimensional heat conduction problem where two cylindrical specimens were connected to each other along the longitudinal direction. A uniform heat flux is given at the bottom surface of specimen I, a uniform temperature is maintained at the top surface of specimen II, and thermal insulation is assumed at the outer radius of the two specimens. The present numerical results have been compared to calculations using conventional equiangular grids and to experimental results obtained for cylindrical brass specimens. The present results are shown to compare much more closely with experimental measurements than previous calculations using conventional numerical models.

Abstract:Uniform charged spherical sphere generated by the electric field in the sphere inside and outside electric field strength distribution is very simple, but it is difficult to obtain the spherical surface of the electric field strength with Gauss’s law . This article introduced the integral calculation and deductive analytic two methods, using field strength’s principle of superposition to calculate the electric field strength value of the charged spherical surface, to obtain a complete electric field strength distribution of the uniformly charged spherical generated electric field . According to the investigation, the present study is the first example.

Abstract:In this paper,the electric flux on each side of the cube is systematically calculated while a uniform charged sphere surface on the diagonal of a cube.The result shows that the electric flux on each side is closely related to the radius and the position of the charged sphere surface.When the radius is larger,the electric flux exhibits an evident double-peak structure.But with the radius decreasing,the distance between the two peaks shortens,and finally it degenerates into a result of a point charge.

Abstract:This paper presents an improved surface charge simulation for computation of three-dimensional capacitance. In this method, each curved surface on which the charge is distributed is divided into a number of curved surface elements instead of planar elements. The surface shape of each element is approximated by a quadratic formula. The capacitance of a shielding ring and a plane against ground is calculated using this improved surface charge simulation method. The computed capacitance values of these configurations agree well with the measured data.

Abstract:Based on the Gouy-Chapman electrical double layer model, an analytical solution to the Poisson-Boltzmann equation describing the distribution of the electrical potential around spherical particles has been obtained. The advantage of this method is that it is not restricted to the Debye-Huckel approximation condition, where ze psi much less than kT. The present results compare favorably to results obtained under the ze psi much less than kT condition for spherical particles and to results obtained for the general solution for flat plate geometry. This approach provides, an effective method for the iterative calculation of the electrical double layer potential for spherical particles.

Abstract:This paper investigates the interactions between incident electromagnetic wave and nanoparticles, especially metallic nanoparticles. The scattering of nanoparticles is characterized by using volume integral equation. By considering the total electric field, i.e. the sum of incident fields and the radiated fields by equivalent electric volume currents, the volume integral equation can be established within the scatterers. The resultant volume integral equation is discretized using appropriate basis functions and is solved numerically using a matrix solver. Numerical results are presented to demonstrate the application of volume integral equation to analyze the plasmon resonance.

Abstract:Numerical analysis of electrostatic field problems is widely demanded in science and engineering. Boundary element methods based on integral equations are popular due to its high efficiency. Conventional boundary element methods require conformal meshing on the interface between two dielectric objects, which is more complicated than non-conformal meshing in terms of mesh generation. This paper presents an integral method compatible with non-conformal meshes on the interface between contacting objects, thus reducing the meshing complexity for dielectric objects in contact. Numerical tests and comparison with traditional methods are shown in this paper also.

Abstract:By using the iterative method in functional analysis, the Poisson-Boltzmann (PB) equation, which describes the distribution of the potential in the electrical double layer of a cylindrical particle, has been solved analytically under general potential conditions. Both the potential and the surface charge density coincide with those results obtained from the Debye-Huchel approximation when the very low potential of ze psi << kT is introduced. The advantage of this method is that it has completely overcome the restriction that the BP equation can be solved analytically only under the Debye-Huchel approximation condition.

Abstract:The current continuity equation is usually applied to solve DC electric field distribution when there is inhomogeneous material conductivity due to temperature gradient or multi-layer dielectrics. However, in the presence of charge accumulation, which may result from the process of electrode injection, impurity ionisation or charge trapping, the material conductivity is in tangled relationship with local field strength, and the current continuity equation can be hardly applied due to the ignorance of conductivity distribution. Thus, quantitative analysis on the effect of space (surface) charge for DC apparatus with inhomogeneous material conductivity has been a difficult problem, which requires a complicated physical model to solve. This paper has proposed a simple method to compute the synergetic influence of inhomogeneous conductivity and the space charge on the DC field distribution; through assigning bulk (interface) charge as functions of local material conductivity and field strength, the effect of inhomogeneous conductivity can be incorporated in Gauss' law and the space charge accumulation can be further included in the equation. The effect of space (surface) charge on electric field distribution in DC apparatus with temperature gradient as well as multiple-layer dielectrics is simulated through the proposed method, which shows that the method has offered a convenient approach for investigating the effect of charge accumulation on DC field distribution under various insulation structure and working conditions.

Abstract:Poisson's equation frequently emerges in many fields, yet its exact solution is rarely feasible, making the numerical approach notably valuable. This study aims to provide a tutorial-level guide to numerically solving Poisson's equation, focusing on estimating the electrostatic field and potential resulting from an axially symmetric Gaussian charge distribution. The Finite Difference Method is utilized to discretize the desired spatial domain into a grid of points and approximate the derivatives using finite difference approximations. The resulting system of linear equations is then tackled using the Successive Over-Relaxation technique. Our results suggest that the potential obtained from the direct integration of the distance-weighted charge density is a reasonable choice for Dirichlet boundary conditions. We examine a scenario involving a charge in free space; the numerical electrostatic potential is estimated to be within a tolerable error range compared to the exact solution.

Abstract:When an uncharged conductor is moved to the electric field produced by a point charge,there will be induced charge distribuion on the surface of the conductor.It is proved that for conductor with arbitrary shape,the interaction energy between the point charge and the conductor is half of the coulomb interaction energy between the point charge and image charges.Furthermore a very simple understanding to this result is provided.
