Abstract:As has been noted,corpus is playing an increasingly important role in linguistic researches.This paper aims to expound on some tentative ideas of basing construction grammar studies on corpus,i.e.a new corpus-based approach to construction grammar studies,at a very theoretical and macro-level,which has seldom been employed in construction studies.In the light of some existing problems with researches into construction grammar at home and abroad,I strongly suggest basing construction studies on corpus to overcome or compensate for these problems to certain extent.
