Abstract:Several important issues on dynamic equivalent identification are studied, including disturbance type, disturbance place, comparison with theoretical aggregation approach, parameter sensitivity and the influences of power flow. The studies are considered very necessary from both theory and application aspects. The results are verified by applications in Huazhong Power Network.

Abstract:Based on the multi-conductor transmission line(MTL) model,the equivalent circuit of traction substation and sectioning post is derived,and a general mathematical model is established.This model is suitable for the analysis of traction power networks fed by different power supply modes.Parameter identification method is used to establish a model of induction motor in parallel with the static part of train's traction and drive system to realize train's exact modeling.On this basis,the simulation software based on coupling between train and network for traction power supply system of electric railway is developed.Calculation results of actual example show that the method fully considers interactive influence of trains and traction power supply system,and possesses good generality and reliability properties.

Abstract:The neutral grounding modes of distribution network in some main countries are discussed and the trends of neutral grounding in 20 kV distribution network in recent years are summarized.Then the main technical characteristics and the suitable scope of three neutral grounding modes are analyzed.The scope of capacitance currents in neutral point through arc suppression coil and through low resistance are studied in this paper.Finally,detailed recommendations of the neutral grounding in 20 kV distribution network are put forward through a real lightning situation in Zhejiang Province.

Abstract:A special conductor configuration mode,i.e., three phase conductors are arranged in inverted-delta mode within the same tower window,is adopted in compact transmission lines in China.Such a special arrangement of phase conductors leads to special electric parameter characteristics.The authors systematically analyse power frequency characteristics and frequency-dependent characteristics of electric parameters of these compact transmission lines,and research the influences of ground wires,ground modes and ground resistivity variation on electric parameters of these compact transmission lines.On the basis of calculation results the authors evaluate the influences of these characteristics on secondary arc current and recovery voltage,protective relaying,reactive power regulation,overvoltage limitation and electromagnetic transient.The research conclusion will be useful for the design and operation of compact transmission lines in the future.

Abstract:Compared with the AC distribution network, the DC distribution network has lower line losses, better power quality, higher reliability and is suitable for all kinds distributed generation and DC lords access, etc. This paper deals with DC distribution network for distributed generation, electric vehicle charging and discharging station access at first, and then put forward a DC network topology structure, finally with the using PSCAD/EMTDC to model and simulate the distributed generation and the DC distribution network; the distributed generation capacity will change when the environmental factors change, but the DC voltage and the power of DC lords in the DC distribution does not follow the distributed generation capacity, they stay in a constant value, at the same time the DC distribution can transfer energy with the AC network, the DC distribution network can also regulate the power flow in the AC network. The result of the simulation verified the feasibility and effectiveness of the DC network topology structure.
A Dynamic Equivalent Method of Three-Sequence Network for Electromagnetic Transient Simulation

Abstract:Electromagnetic transient simulation can accurately simulate the dynamic characteristics of AC/DC power system under asymmetric faults. In order to reduce the amount of simulating calculation and improve the simulation efficiency, it is necessary to simplify the large-scale power system. A dynamic equivalent method of three-sequence network for electromagnetic transient simulation is proposed. Based on the physical equivalence dynamic reduction technique, this method improves the standard equivalent structures of low-voltage networks, takes into account the negative sequence and zero sequence currents under asymmetric short-circuit faults, and adopts a practical engineering method of parameter aggregation of equivalent generators and selection of controller models. The equivalent method does not produce negative resistance branches in the simplification process, and avoids the emergence of equivalent transformers with negative resistance or reactance. Finally, the proposed method is applied to the simplification of Zhejiang Power Grid. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:According to the development trend of power system and many practical problems facing power industry at home and abroad,this paper puts forward an important basic problem of the future power grid(integration of three networks including transmission network,distribution network and microgrid) planning and design,and further proposes the research thinking of developing the concepts and methods of complex network theory to be thereby applied to the planning and design of the new three-level power network.This study involves three basic subjects: one is the macroscopic morphological and conceptual design of the three-level power network;the second is the basic theory framework of the three-level power network structure;the third is the three-level power network planning method based on self-organized criticality(SOC) theory.This paper comprehensively illustrates the urgency and necessity of the planning and construction of three-level network,and definitely points out that the three-level network will be one of the main development directions in the future power grid.

Abstract:On basis of deep analysis in development trend of technologies about DC distribution system, this paper summarizes main application occasions of DC distribution technology, presents typical structures of DC distribution networks and possible patterns of grid integration, and clarifies key technologies of DC distribution system from aspects of planning, operation and control, and fault isolation. Moreover, it should be attached high importance of stimulation of technological breakthroughs in new semiconductor material technology, information science, operation pattern of DC distribution system and so on to rapid advancement of DC distribution technologies. Finally, this paper proposes several suggestions and prospects on development of DC distribution systems in China.

Abstract:The couplings between different types of energy networks are receiving increasing attention, especially in distribution networks. One of the fundamental topics of interest is the dynamic coupling between power grids and gas networks. To study dynamics in gas pipelines and the interaction between gas networks and electric power grids, dynamic modeling of gas networks gives the foundation. Commercial software is available and mature, but has flaws: (1) time-consuming simulation and complex implementation, and (2) the interface to electric power grids is not friendly. In this paper, transfer functions (TFs) are used to model a single pipeline. To model a gas network with multiple pipelines, a universal networking method is proposed. The accuracy of transfer function models are thoroughly examined under step and sinusoidal excitations, and the influence factors of accuracy is investigated. The adaptability of TF models is then quantitated by reference curves. Finally, the proposed modeling approach is applied in analyzing a gas-electricity system to test its capabilities.

Abstract:How to verify the reasonableness of the topology and how to predict the impact on network performance when the topology changes in the electric power communication network are very important. A method to analyze the performance of power communication network based on scene contrast is proposed and a simulation platform is designed in this paper.Experi-ment results show that the platform is good for verifying topological reasonableness in the early establishment of the communi-cation network and predicting the impact on network performance when changing the topology or business after the establish-ment. The platform could be an useful analysis and forecasting tool in the stage of design, construction and maintenance for rela-tive people of power company.

Abstract:The stability of equilibrium point is an essential problem to be considered in the study of power network system, a small fault in the system may lead to collapse of the power grid. This paper makes a detailed theoretical supplement to the stability analysis of the equilibrium point of the power network model proposed by Yang and Motter. We introduce noise and time delay that may exist in actual power network system, and study the stability of the equilibrium point of the power network model with noise and time delay. Besides, this paper improves the transmission line model of the power network model to make it closer to modern intelligent grid. Finally, a numerical simulation of a 7-bus power network system is carried out to further verify the stability of the equilibrium point of the power network with time delay and noise in this paper.

Abstract:Graph theory, which was originally a branch of mathematics, is now an interesting subject with a wide range of applications. It is an important tool for studying natural science, engineering technology, economic management, and social phenomena. In this paper, the specific applications of graph theory in the analysis and design of electrical network are introduced based on basic concepts and basic theorems of graph theory. The application fields include the circuit calculation, the construction and analysis of power electronic topology and the distribution network. The idea of graph theory is integrated into the electric network, and the related complex issues are transformed into graph theory problems, as a result, the analysis process is simplified and optimized.

Abstract:The growing number of power electronic equipment in power system making harmonic a more complicated problem. The harmonic amplification phenomenon through power system components will decrease power quality, damage equipment. Therefore, this paper proposes a harmonic transfer function to analyse harmonic amplification phenomenon on long-distance underloaded line, to improve the power quality. Firstly, the harmonic transfer model of long-distance light-load transmission line is established, and the harmonic transfer characteristics and amplification mechanism in long-distance light-load line are analyzed by harmonic transfer function. Secondly, according to the actual situation, the distribution network structure is built based on Matlab plarform, and the accuracy of the wave transfer coefficient is proved through theoretical and simulation analysis.

Abstract:In terms of the general policy of Chinese power system development,which is “power transmission from west to east,mutual supply between south and north,nationwide interconnection”,the problems that may appear in the implementation of this strategy are analyzed. The accident of the gigantic power failure in America and Canada is a lesson. The following measures are sugges-ted. A new type of distributed protection relay system should be set up on the basis of wide area information net to alleviate the impact of disturbance on power system. An integrated system of protection and local emergency control should be set up to increase the power transfer capacity and to prevent the power system stability damage. A network protection system should be set up to maintain the stability and security of power network structure,which coordinates the network-wide performance to prevent interlocking trips. An adaptive network disconnection and emergency recove-ry system should be set up to prevent the interconnected power system collapse and accident overspreading. Comparison of Single-phase-to-ground Faults in Distribution Network with Two Kinds of Grounding Methods

Abstract:In order to obtain a better application of low resistance grounding system to improve the safety and reliability of distribution network, the author investigated different characteristics of the power distribution network with neutral grounding through small resistors or petersen coil in the event of single-phase-to-ground fault, as well as the difference between the protecting methods. The symmetrical components method was used to analyze the single-phase-to-ground faults. Then a simulation via MATLAB was conducted. The results show that the different features of the two kinds of networks during single-phase-to-ground fault lead to adopting different relaying methods. With the spreading of low-resistance grounding method, the corresponding relaying methods should be improved.

Abstract:A new transformation method of solving phasor- mode impedance of double circuits on same tower with differ- ent transposition is presented. The impedance matrix and transformation matrix corresponding to three common ways of transposition are obtained. The transformation matrix does not contain complex element and is fully diagonalized. There- fore, it can provide theoretical basis for fault location and phase selective protection of new type of double circuits on same tower. The correctness of this method is validated by EMTP.
