Abstract:In this paper, by making use of the generating function methods and Padé approximation techniques, we establish some new recurrence formulas for the Hermite polynomials and their squares. These results presented here are the corresponding extensions of some known formulas.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish some reciprocity formulas for certain generalized Hardy-Berndt sums by using the Fourier series technique and some properties of the periodic zeta function and the Lerch zeta function. It turns out that one of Hardy's reciprocity theorems is deduced as a special case.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the definitions of Eulerian pair and Hermite-Biehler pair. We also characterize a duality relation between Eulerian recurrences and Eulerian recurrence systems. This generalizes and unifies Hermite-Biehler decompositions of several enumerative polynomials, including up-down run polynomials for symmetric groups, alternating run polynomials for hyperoctahedral groups, flag descent polynomials for hyperoctahedral groups and flag ascent-plateau polynomials for Stirling permutations. We derive some properties of associated polynomials. In particular, we prove the alternatingly increasing property and the interlacing property of the ascent-plateau and left ascent-plateau polynomials for Stirling permutations.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the generalized Dedekind-Rademacher sums considered by Hall, Wilson and Zagier. We establish a formula for the products of two Bernoulli functions. The proof relies on Parseval's formula, Hurwitz's formula, and Lerch's functional equation. The result leads to reciprocity formulas for some generalizations of the classical Dedekind sums. In particular, it is shown that Carlitz's, Berndt's, Hall and Wilson's reciprocity theorems are deduced as special cases.
