An Analysis of Neoinstitutionalism in Education

Abstract:Giving a commentary introduction to the old institutional analysis and the new one, the author argues that neoinstitutionalism not only broadens and deepens the understanding of the conception of institution, but also enriches the analyzing model of the old one, by adding a new organizational level, thus forming the normative-organizational-institutional model. This, according to the author, helps to break the border limits of the old institutional analysis , but also helps to establish the theoretical relativity of the neoinstitutionalism to the social reality , which Chinese education system is under radical institutional change.
