Abstract:A set of stationary on line discharge monitoring system for power transformers is developed for continuously monitor of multiple power transformers with the functions of failure reminiscence, fault alarm and discharge point locating. The features of used multiple channel data acquisition setup such as wide bandwidth, large capacity, high sampling rate of A/D converter facilitate the further use of digital signal processing methods. The system uses peak value software holding algorithm to get the relationship between discharge quantity and time, from which the statistical information of discharge could be derived. In order to locate the discharge source the electrical and ultrasonic signals of discharge are simultaneously monitored. Furthermore, various kinds of data processing methods could be added into the system flexibly by taking the component object model as the groundwork of the whole software. The system has the high adaptability and could fit the needs of different monitoring requisition and various targets (transformers, generators, etc). In order to improve the reliability and performance of monitoring system itself, the network technology is used to carry out the communication between detecting system near transformers and upper class of computer arranged in main controlling room. The system has been put into operation on site. With good scalability and flexibility, the system builds the foundation of the future distributed monitoring systems.
