Abstract:Metal-organic frameworks are porous crystal materials made by the coordination of metal sites and organic ligands. MOFs have lots of advantages, such as large specific surface area, controllable coordination and are easily modified by organic functional groups or metal sites. MOF films have been widely valued by researchers based on this. MOF films have special properties that traditional powder materials don't have. This will help them be used more widely in the future. This article summarizes the synthesis methods of MOF films and outlines their advantages and disadvantages. Based on the properties of MOF films, further summarize their potential applications.

Abstract:Inorganic membrane materials and their advantages and disadvantages were systematically studied in this paper.The preparation methods of inorganic membranes,including solid state sintering,sol-gel method,phase separation,CPD(chemical vapor deposition),synthetic method etc were also reviewed.Application of inorgenic membranes in liquid filtration,bioreactor,catalysis and gas separation was illustrated.Other potential application fields were also discussed.It would pave the way for the development of inorganic membranes in the near future.

Abstract:The film containing oriented mesochannels in uniform direction at large scales can be defined as ordered mesoporous thin film. Various preparation methods of ordered mesoporous silica thin films are reviewed in recent years. These preparation methods can be summarized into three kinds in mechanism. The factors influencing the mesoporons film preparation are also discussed and analyzed based on the viewpoint of "order". In addition, the progress tendencies of those preparation methods in the future are also introduced.

Abstract:The macroscopic alignment of mesochannels in films and its control are quite significant for advanced materials with controlled functions. However, the direction of mesochannels in almost all mesoporous/mesostructured films is parallel to the substrate. The films containing vertically oriented mesochannels in uniform direction are of wide prospects due to their huge potential applications including catalysis, adsorption and separation, high-sensitive chemical sensors, solar cells and so forth. Here some important characterization technique are presented, such as cross-sectional TEM, X-ray diffraction and grazing-incident small-angle X-ray scattering. Simultaneously, various preparation methods of vertically oriented mesoporous thin films in recent years are reviewed including template-based method, using external fields, modification of substrate and other methods. We also briefly summarize its applications in selective membrane, preparation of vertically oriented metal films and electrochromic display devices. In addition, the development of vertically oriented mesoporous thin films in the future is expected.

Abstract:Porous carbon materials are of interest in many applications because of their high surface area and physicochemical properties. Conventional syntheses can only produce randomly porous materials, with little control over the pore-size distributions, let alone mesostructures. Recent breakthroughs in the preparation of other porous materials have resulted in the development of methods for the preparation of mesoporous carbon materials with extremely high surface areas and ordered mesostructures, with potential applications as catalysts, separation media, and advanced electronic materials in many scientific disciplines. Current syntheses can be categorized as either hard-template or soft-template methods. Both are examined in this Review along with procedures for surface functionalization of the carbon materials obtained.

Abstract:<p>Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are crystalline porous materials in which metal ions or clusters are constructed in cooperation with organic linkers. MOFs have received tremendous attention in the fields of both inorganic and organic chemistry owing to their high porosity, large specific surface area, regular pore arrangement, and adjustable pore size. This article reviews a large number of preparation methods for MOF films, including liquid phase epitaxy, supersonic cold spraying, direct gas-phase preparation, and interface-assisted synthesis. Thereafter, we introduce applications of MOF films in the fields of optics, sensing, catalysis, adsorption, and separation, as well as their electrochemical energy storage. At the end of this review, we describe the challenges that need to be overcome and consider future perspectives for synthesis and applications.</p>

Abstract:Inorganic membranes ,as a new kind separation media exhibit a series of superior advantages to their polymer analogues. Recently, Both of porous and dense membranes have got great progress. This paper reviews the present status of research and development of porous separation membranes and perspectives of the future. Some new progresses of micro-filtration, ultra-filtration, nano-filtration and zeolite membranes are discussed. The emerging application of porous ceramics membranes in gas-solid separation was briefly reviewed.

Abstract:Great progress has been made in the preparation and application of ordered mesoporous metal oxides during the past decade. However, the applications of these novel and interesting materials have not been reviewed comprehensively in the literature. In the current review we first describe different methods for the preparation of ordered mesoporous metal oxides; we then review their applications in energy conversion and storage, catalysis, sensing, adsorption and separation. The correlations between the textural properties of ordered mesoporous metal oxides and their specific performance are highlighted in different examples, including the rate of Li intercalation, sensing, and the magnetic properties. These results demonstrate that the mesoporosity has a direct impact on the properties and potential applications of such materials. Although the scope of the current review is limited to ordered mesoporous metal oxides, we believe that the information may be useful for those working in a number of fields.

Abstract:This paper reviews some important concepts of microstructure design in preparing inorganic nanostructure materials, and discusses their potential applications, existing problems and the future developments. Many studies show that making an efficient use of these materials' pore structure and excellent chemical properties is the main idea. The control of nanosturcture and grads aperture, the decoration of surface,and the optimitation of preparation techniques can improve performance of materials and extend their application. The development of hew types of nano porous inorganic materials will focus on multi-component and multi-structure materials.

Abstract:The world today is witnessing a new technological revolution, particularly in the area of new materials. Different types of materials often have different characteristics and uses. Mesoporous materials have a large specific surface area, easily modifiable inner and outer surfaces, tunable pore size and pore channels, and good biocompatibility and thermodynamic stability, thus emerging as a new candidate material in the chemical research community. The presence of mesopores facilitates the rapid diffusion of macromolecules, reduces resistance to mass transfer, and provides different properties depending on the pore size, making mesoporous materials a potential candidate for a wide range of applications. This paper reviews the recent methods used to synthesize mesoporous materials, including hydrothermal synthesis, microwave synthesis, the sol–gel method, the phase conversion method, and the templating method. The soft templating method is introduced in detail, including bulk self-assembly, solvent evaporation-induced self-assembly, solution-based nanoprecipitation, interfacial self-assembly in a solution, and emulsion template self-assembly. The current status of the processes related to mesoporous materials in the fields of biomedicine, environmental and energy, electrochemical energy storage, and gas separation is elaborated. Finally, the technical issues and future directions in the synthesis and application of mesoporous materials are briefly discussed.

Abstract:Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)is an new type of polymer materials which possesses three dimensional pore structures and larger specific surface area and better adsorption property,the organic ligands and metal ions are self-assembled through the coordination bond between organic ligands and metal ions,which MOFs is formed.This paper reviews the course of research and development of MOFs,and the synthetic principles and preparation methods which include hydrothermal syn-thesis of water/solvent,microwave synthesis and ultrasonic synthesis are systematically introduced,furthermore the advantages and disadvantages of synthetic principles and preparation methods of MOFs are analyzed.At last,the research process of application of MOFs in storage hydrogen,adsorption of carbon dioxide,adsorption of toxic compounds,catalysis, fluorescent and other aspects is discussed,and the future research orientation is developing new process of MOFs material, improving the stability of the structure and expanding its application field.

Abstract:Synthetic procedures and application areas of a new composite material magnetic mesoporous silica were introduced. The material possesses advantages of both mesoporous silica materials and magnetic nanoparticles. The common synthetic methods of magnetic mesoporous silica including categories of one-step and two-step methods were introduced and compared in respect of mesoporous structure and magnetic separation performance. Two-step methods are relatively more complicated and time-consuming. The magnetic nanoparticles may clog the mesopores seriously. Comparatively, one-step methods are much easier and time-saving. The magnetic nanoparticles generate in-situ in side of silica walls which reduces clogging of mesopores to some extent. The magnetic mesoporous silica has great potential in areas of biocatalysis and controlled release of drugs.
