Responsibilities of Different Sectors Involved in HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control and Coordination Between Them

Abstract:Prevention and control of acquired immure deficiency syndrome(AIDS)involves a number of social sectors,which has been indicated,without detailed elucidation,in the National Mid-and Long-term Program for Prevention and Control of AIDS from 1998 to 2010 formulated in 2001.Through literature review,brainstorm and focus group discussions and other means,we have defined specific functions and division of responsibilities of related sectors,and confirmed that the implementation of responsibilities in different sectors are closely interrelated and that AIDS prevention and control is by no means an endeavor of the single disease control and prevention institution and should be supported by the whole society In conclusion,we think that the sectors which are involved in AIDS prevention and control should include CDC at all levels,local health bureaus,related government agencies,hospitals,police and publicity departments,family planning committees,FDA,education departments,business sectors,the community,statistical bureaus and others.
