Abstract:Management inefficiency and object mismatching are two major drawbacks of conventional SNMP/CORBA gateway-based distributed network management systems. The paper describes a new CORBA-based distributed network management architecture, DiNM/CORBA, which seamlessly integrates the SNMP-based network management with the CORBA distributed computing environment through Java and JMAPI technology. By doing so, the service objects in the CORBA environment are able to directly access the managed objects within the SNMP agent, so there is no need for dynamic protocol translation during management operation. The paper describes the DiNM/CORBA architecture, while focusing on the design and implementation of its basic services of data collection and event management. Compared with a conventional SNMP management environment, the DiNM/CORBA performance is about 20% higher than that of a typical SNMP/CORBA gateway approach.

Abstract:In this paper, the importance and necessary of developing distributed network management system based on Web and CORBA is analyzed firstly, then the system's use case model is introduced, at last the system's architecture (which combines Web, CORBA notification Service and TCP push technology) and the designs of Web server, CORBA server, reporting real-time default info and user-defined filter mechanism are described in detail. The shortcomings of traditional network management such as the running bottleneck of network management host and network management accessing limited by section is solved effectively by this system. The efficiency, quality and level of network management are improved greatly. ©2010 IEEE.

Abstract:Accounting management is probably the least developed network management application. The profit being one of the means of developing the Internet duratively, the network accounting is paid more attention than before. Firstly, an accounting model is described in which the components of accounting are given. Then, the CORBA-based accounting architecture is presen-ted .The architecture has three layers. The first layer is the Web interface used as the users' interface. Java Applet is used to pass some active data. HTTP server and CORBAAcct server locate in the second layer. The database server is also located in this layer.The CORBAAcct server defined by some CORBA objects accomplishes the accounting. The relationship between these objects is also described. The third layer is the device agent on which the raw accounting data are introduced. The client communicates with the CORBAAcct server by IIOP and the communication between CORBAAcct server and device agent is based on SNMP.

Abstract:Many distributed real-time object computing systems require thesupport of real-time CORBA. Key of the design and implementation of real-time CORBA is the resource management. This paper makes two contributions to implement the resource management of the real-time CORBA. First, it presents the design of a real-time ORB resource management facility,called RMAF, which integrates agent technique into CORBA.
