Abstract:In this pape, we present a hierarchical, Web- and platform-based network management architecture for resolving problems of scalability, management efficiency, and manager autonomy in large, multipl domain networks, The proposed architecture consists of multiple domain managers and a manager of managers, each responsible for a different management domain, and each can run independently or cooperatively. The structure of SuperDomain, an implemented network management system, based on this architecture is outlined. The manager-to-manager communication mechanism based on the extensible SNMP Trap feature is discussed.
