Abstract:This paper introduces the using actuality of ERP in printing industry,and then analyzes some possible causes of the difficulties for printeries to implement ERP.To reduce these difficulties,we put forward our scheme: to implement ERP by partly customing a model which is flexible,universal,robust.The kernel of our scheme is the capability to rebuild physical structure and to implement dynamic procedure.We discuss the logical structure in detail which could be a reasonable scheme for the implementation of ERP system in some field.

Abstract:Enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems have emerged as the core of successful information management and the enterprise backbone of organizations. The difficulties of ERP implementations have been widely cited in the literature but research on the critical factors for initial and ongoing ERP implementation success is rare and fragmented. Through a comprehensive review of the literature, 11 factors were found to be critical to ERP implementation success – ERP teamwork and composition; change management program and culture; top management support; business plan and vision; business process reengineering with minimum customization; project management; monitoring and evaluation of performance; effective communication; software development, testing and troubleshooting; project champion; appropriate business and IT legacy systems. The classification of these factors into the respective phases (chartering, project, shakedown, onward and upward) in Markus and Tanis’ ERP life cycle model is presented and the importance of each factor is discussed.

Abstract:The successful implementation of various enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems has provoked considerable interest over the last few years. Management has recently been enticed to look toward these new information technologies and philosophies of manufacturing for the key to survival or competitive edges. Although there is no shortage of glowing reports on the success of ERP installations, many companies have tossed millions of dollars in this direction with little to show for it. Since many of the ERP failures today can be attributed to inadequate planning prior to installation, we choose to analyze several critical planning issues including needs assessment and choosing a right ERP system, matching business process with the ERP system, understanding the organizational requirements, and economic and strategic justification. In addition, this study also identifies new windows of opportunity as well as challenges facing companies today as enterprise systems continue to evolve and expand.

Abstract:Enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is one of the most widely accepted choices to obtain competitive advantage for manufacturing companies. However, the successful implementation rate is low and many firms did not achieve intended goals in China. This study develops an ERP implementation success framework by adapting the Ives et al. information systems (ISs) research model and DeLone and McLean's IS success model to identify both critical success factors and success measures. Qualitative case study research methodology is used to collect data and Atlas/ti program is used to facilitate data analysis. Discussion is made finally and suggested ERP systems implementation methodology is given at the end.

Abstract:This paper explores the effects of organizational culture on ERP implementation.Adopted with scales of Susan,Sonia,and Kenneth,organizational culture is measured with six subscales.The performance of ERP implementation is measured by user satisfaction.With SPSS,research model is tested with 289 valid data.The results confirm that organizational culture,especially climate-morale,involvement,supervision,and meetings;affect the performance of ERP implementation.

Abstract:Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) continues to be extensively accustomed to improving productivity, boost the efficiency of economic operations, and reduce business costs. ERP implementation is extremely advantageous but maintaining individuals’ benefits are extremely hard for most organisations at after implementation phase. However, an unsuccessful implementation of Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) can frequently curse financial disaster. The purpose of this information is to review on crucial success factors (CSF) and risks (RF) of ERP system implementation and supply a general clarification of complexities such implementation. By analysing crucial success factor and risks pointed out in literature, CSF and RFs are mapped to project complexities concerned in almost any ERP implementation. This article shows that for a number of industries frequently challenges were centred on top management support, change management techniques, effective communications, and ERP systems user training but missing internal expertise, and conflicts along with other priorities were even the critical factors which performed a huge role in ERP implementation.

Abstract:Since early 1990s, many firms around the world have shifted their information technology (IT) strategy from developing information systems in-house to purchasing application software such as enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. IT managers responsible for managing their organization’s ERP implementation view their ERP systems as their organizations’ most strategic computing platform. However, despite such strategic importance, ERP projects report an unusually high failure rate, sometimes jeopardizing the core operations of the implementing organization. This study explores the root of such high failure rate from an “organizational fit of ERP” perspective. Based on the relevant literature, we define the concept of organizational fit of ERP and examine its impact on ERP implementation, together with ERP implementation contingencies. The results from our field survey of 34 organizations show that ERP implementation success significantly depends on the organizational fit of ERP and certain implementation contingencies.

Abstract:Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have been implemented globally and their implementation has been extensively studied during the past decade. However, many organizations are still struggling to derive benefits from the implemented ERP systems. Therefore, ensuring post-implementation success has become the focus of the current ERP research. This study develops an integrative model to explain the post-implementation success of ERP, based on the Technology-Organization-Environment (TOE) theory. We posit that ERP implementation quality (the technological aspect) consisting of project management and system configuration, organizational readiness (the organizational aspect) consisting of leadership involvement and organizational fit, and external support (the environmental aspect) will positively affect the post-implementation success of ERP. An empirical test was conducted in the Chinese retail industry. The results show that both ERP implementation quality and organizational readiness significantly affect post-implementation success, whereas external support does not. The theoretical and practical implications of the findings are discussed.

Abstract:The body of research relating to the implementation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems in small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has been increasing rapidly over the last few years. It is important, particularly for SMEs, to recognize the elements for a successful ERP implementation in their environments. This research aims to examine the critical elements that constitute a successful ERP implementation in SMEs. The objective is to identify the constituents within the critical elements. A comprehensive literature review and interviews with eight SMEs in the UK were carried out. The results serve as the basic input into the formation of the critical elements and their constituents. Three main critical elements are formed: critical success factors, critical people and critical uncertainties. Within each critical element, the related constituents are identified. Using the process theory approach, the constituents within each critical element are linked to their specific phase(s) of ERP implementation. Ten constituents for critical success factors were found, nine constituents for critical people and 21 constituents for critical uncertainties. The research suggests that a successful ERP implementation often requires the identification and management of the critical elements and their constituents at each phase of implementation. The results are constructed as a reference framework that aims to provide researchers and practitioners with indicators and guidelines to improve the success rate of ERP implementation in SMEs.

Abstract:Abstrcat Drawing on the frequent failures of China's enterprises in implementing ERP and the impractical application of strategies, the authors, taking approaches of causal analysis and quantity-quality interaction, make a study into the relationship between the success of the system and its underpinning factors and relevant tactics. They also study the interrelational constraint and stimuli of the resulting effects after the successful application of the system. The findings lead to the establishment of cause-effect based phased information systematization model and a parallel study of the quantity-quality transformation of the model.

Abstract:ERP performance evaluation is an important step that helps an enterprise analyzing the contribution of ERP. However this process of assessment itself poses many problems. Therefore more and more enterprises regard the establishment of ERP performance evaluation system as their market competitiveness focus. The paper analyzed the literature of ERP implementation and performance management, established ERP implementation performance evaluation system which contained institution system, organization system and index system. Then this study developed a reliable measurement tools such as AHP to evaluate ERP implementation performance, demonstrated qualitative methods and quantitative methods from pre-implementation to post-implementation of ERP performance evaluation. Overall, this study contributes to expand the knowledge and deeper understanding of the ERP implement evaluation on enterprise performance, hoping to help firms avoid the pitfalls on the ERP adoption to generate the profitability and reduce the losses during the operation.

Abstract:A new selection method for ERP of manufacturing enterprise was developed. Firstly, an evaluation model of ERP selection process was established, and an evaluation system for ERP selection was constructed by using balanced score card (BSC). According to benchmarking principle, the referred series was obtained for ERP selection. All the relative weights were calculated based on the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) technique. Then, the priority scheduling of ERP software was realized via the grey relational theory. Finally, a practice example analysis was carried on. The results show that the method is comprehensive, practical and operational for ERP selection.

Abstract:The paper researches the impact of ERP adoption on operating and profit-making capability of Chinese manufacturing firms.This research has found that ERP systems can help Chinese manufacturing firms enhance cash management and improve efficiency of labor.However,there is no significant improvement associated with the ratio of Stock Turnover following the implementation of ERP systems.Further,the research has found that ratio of ROS has significant decrease after ERP adoption.

Abstract:Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems have dominated the large-scale business implementation landscape for over a decade. To that end, this research paper addresses some common misconceptions and planning difficulties encountered when such a system must eventually meet head-on with corporate values, culture and strategic initiatives. Although an ERP system is quite useful in integrating business processes within a common information technology platform, it does not provide much help in linking organisational strategic planning initiatives and objective measurement to the integrated processes that are implied by the software.

Abstract:This study explores and analyzes students’ difficulties in learning an ERP system to help design more appropriate teaching methods and materials. Global enterprises have widely used ERP systems to manage their operations effectively and efficiently. Hence, many business schools have offered courses on ERP systems to sharpen ERP skills for their students. To help design more appropriate teaching methods and materials for ERP learning, one must know students’ difficulties in understanding. This study analyzes students’ difficulties in learning the Oracle E-Business Suite ERP system through interviews and qualitative analysis. As a result, this study identifies five categories of problems in the various areas of the Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy. Their relevant educational objectives can guide the redesign of ERP teaching methods and materials. One of the difficulties belongs to the area of Remember Factual Knowledge. The rest of them are in Understand, Remember, Apply, and Analysis of Procedural Knowledge. Lastly, this study provides some implications for teaching ERP.
