Development of Rotating Arc Sensor

Abstract:The basic principle of arc sensor and the working principle of the rotating arc sensor used in seam tracking are introduced. For the demanding of sensor in seam tracking,a lightweight,compact,high speed rotating arc sensor is developed. The rotary driving circuit,position detecting circuit,and welding current sampling circuit of the high speed rotating arc sensor are introduced in detail. The experiments show that the rotating arc sensor have good characteristics of anti interference,the rotation velocity is stable,the position detection pulse is reliable,and the sampled welding current is good linear. The developed arc sensor has been applied successfully in the welding robot for seam tracking.
