Abstract:Trace amount cadmium in chitosan has been determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) with Pd(NO 3) 2 as a matrix modifier. The relative standard deviation of this method is 2 8% and the recover rate is 97 0%～106 3%. The method is simple, rapid and with accurate results.

Abstract:An effective method is developed for the determination of cadmium in fermented sausage by dry ashing-graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrophotometry.The influences of matrix modifiers and addition volume,sample pre-processing methods,ashing temperatures and atomization temperatures on absorbancy of cadmium in fermented sausage are studied.10 g/L NH4H2PO4 is selected as the best matrix modifier by single factor experiments.The optimal determination conditions are found by orthogonal experiments as follows:dry ashing is as the sample processing method,volume of matrix modifier is 5 μL,ashing temperature is 800 ℃ and atomization temperature is 1500 ℃.Under the optimum conditions,the cadmium in fermented sausage is 18.24 μg/kg,which is lower than the national standard.The average recovery of cadmium in fermented sausage is 97.3％.The relative standard deviations are not more than 3.67％.This method is simple,accurate,with small blank value,andhas higher practical value.

Abstract:An effective method was developed for determination of cadmium in protein powder by microwave digestion-GFAAS with matrix modifier.The effects of NH4H2PO4 mass concentration in tested sample,ashing temperature and atomizing temperature on absorption was discussed.The optimal determination conditions were found by response surface methodology as follows: NH4H2PO4 mass concentration 3.51 mg/mL;ashing temperature 564℃;and atomizing temperature 1 893℃.Under the above conditions,the content of cadmium in protein powder was 0.238 μg/g,the precision relative standard deviation was 2.77%,the detection limit was 0.21 ng/mL,and the average recovery of cadmium in protein powder was 99.5% with a relative standard deviation of 2.82%.

Abstract:A method for the determination of trace amounts of cadmium in leather products by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry was developed. The leather samples were digested with H2SO4 and H2O2 and magnesium nitrate was used as matrix modifier, the optimal established. The detection limit of cadmium was 0.053μg·L-1, the recoveries with relative standard deviation （RSD） below 3.2%.The method can be used cadmium in leather products with satisfactory results. instrument conditions were range was 96.2%-105.6%, in the determination of trace cadmium in leather products with satisfactory results.

Abstract:A method for the determination of trace thallium in soil samples by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry after preconcentration with polyurethane foam has been developed.Digested sample in hydrochloric acid,nitric acid,perchloric acid and Hydrofluoric acid,trace thallium is adsorbed by polyurethane foam from 10% nitric acid medium in the presence of Fe+3 ion and released in 2ml hydrogen peroxide.Tl is determined by GFAAS with ascorbate as a matrix modifier.The detection limit of the method is 0.2 ng/g for thallium.The method has been applied to the determination of trace Tl in soil standard reference samples and the results are in good agreement with certified values as well as precision of 5.05% ～8.74% RSD(n=12).

Abstract:Based on GB/T 5009.15-2003,the content of cadmium can be determined with graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.By estimation of uncertainty in measurement of cadmium evaluated,the sources of uncertainty in the detection process were analyzed and identified.After the assessment of uncertainty,the key factors affecting the test results were found.The research provided reliable theoretical basis for effectively improving the detection accuracy.

Abstract:The paper reports the direct determination of Pb and Cd in milk powder by GFAAS. The mothed does not need any pre-treatment to the samples and fully use some function of pre-treatment which the Graphite Furnace have. The result indicates that the method is simple, rapid and accurate, and the false result from any pre-treatment to the samples can be reduced. The recover rate of Pb is 100.1%, CV =2.7 ; and Cd is 98.6%, CV = 3.1 %. This method is also applied to the rapid determination of Pb and Cd in soluble samples with satisfactory results.

Abstract:A new on-line preconcentration flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) system for trace element determination was developed based on sorption of soluble metal complexes on the walls of a PTFE knotted reactor using flow injection techniques. The system was applied to the determination of cadmium in biological materials. Cadmium complexed with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate was sorbed on the inner walls of the reactor and eluted on-line by isobutyl methyl ketone. The retention efficiency was 81% at a sampling loading rate of 5.2 ml/min. The enhancement factor was 66 and the concentration efficiency was 61/min with a 50 sec preconcentration period, consuming 4.2 ml sample. A detection limit of 0.1 mu g/l. Cd (3 sigma) was obtained with a sampling frequency of 55/hr. The precisions were 1.2% RSD for 20 mu g/l. Cd (N = 11). Thiourea and ascorbic acid/phenanthroline were used to overcome interferences from copper and iron, respectively. The analytical results obtained for powdered rice and human hair standard reference materials were in good agreement with the certified values.

Abstract:In this work, a sensitive method for the determination of cadmium by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) was established by combining dispersive solid-phase extraction (DSPE) with thermospray flame furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (TS-FF-AAS). Nano-TiO2 was used as adsorbent, and the dispersive extraction simplified the operation procedure. Through the application of slurry sampling, the on-line combination of DSPE with TS-FF-AAS was established and the time-consuming elution step after DSPE was avoided. Problems of nebulization associated with previous methods based on the coupling of FAAS and SPE were overcome. DSPE combined with TS-FF-AAS significantly improved the analytical performance of the modified FAAS, which established a sensitive method for the determination of cadmium based on FAAS. Under the optimal conditions, the limit of detection (LOD) was 0.04 mu g/L, which was better by an enhancement factor of 56. Compared to direct FAAS, the factor was 596. The method was applied to the determination of environmental water samples with satisfactory results.

Abstract:The adsorption properties of crosslinked chitosan(CCTS) for Ag(Ⅰ) were studied and a new method for preconcentration and separation of Ag(Ⅰ)was proposed.The adsorption percentage of Ag(Ⅰ)by CCTS was above 99% at pH 3.0 and Ag(Ⅰ)could be eluted from CCTS with 8 mL 0.5 moL/L hartshorn.The Ag(Ⅰ)in water was preconcentrated with CCTS and was then determined by GFAAS.With enrichment factor of about 20-fold,the detection limit(3σ,n=6) was 0.406 μg/L,the relative standard deviation(RSD) was less than 6.8%.This method is also suitable for the recovery of Ag(Ⅰ).

Abstract:Feed additive sample was digested by hydrochloric acid.80 g · L-1 DDTC-Na solution was used as complexing agent and 50 g · L1 KCN solution was used as masking agent.After CC14 extraction,trace amounts of lead and cadmium in organic phase were determined by FAAS with light source of xenon lamp.Linear relationships between values of absorbance and mass fraction of lead and cadmium were kept in definite ranges,with detection limits (3s) of 100,50 μg · kg-1 respectively.The proposed method was applied to the analysis of the sample of feed additive,giving values of recovery and RSD's (n=6) in the ranges of 93.0％-96.0％ and 1.6％-3.8％ respectively.

Abstract:Objective:This disquisition investigates determination of aluminium in puffed food by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.Methods:Pretest samples using mixed acid,and magnesium was adopted as matrix modifier to determine by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.Results:The lowest detection limit of the method was 3.4×10-11 g,the relative standard deviation was less than 10%(the amount of aluminium was 0.30 mg/kg),and the average recovery was 95%～108%.Conclusion:The method is sensitive and selective,has higher recovery,and is suitable for daily determination.

Abstract:A direct solid sample inducing method is introduced for the detection of Pb and Cd in paper for food-packaging by AAS ZEEnit 600,AnalytikJena AG.The analysis was made without digestion chemicals;the RSD was between3.3 %～10.6 %(n = 7),the detection limits are 0.002ng and 0.001ng for Pb and Cd respectively.Compared with liquid sampling graphite furnace AAS analysis,the Direct SS-GFAAS proved to be a good alternative to conventional methods of trace analysis after wet-chemical digestion and compared favorably with these methods,it can save a lot of work for sample processing,has benefits to avoid dilution and external contamination.
Determination of trace cobalt, nickel and cadmium by on-line flow injection analysis with coprecipitation preconcentration FAAS

Abstract:An efficient on-line coprecipitation system was developed for flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) by using a flow injection technique. The cobalt, nickel and cadmium are coprecipitated with ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamite (APDC)-Fe complex, and the precipitate is collected on a knotted reactor (KR) made of 250cm long and i.d.=0.5mm PTFE tube without filter. The precipitate is dissolved by MIBK and directly introduced into the spectrometer. The enhancement factors are 42, 30 and 33 for Co, Ni and Cd respectively, and the corresponding detection limits are 1, 3 and 0.3��g/L respectively. The RSD are 2.3% for 20.0 ��g/L Co, 2.0% for 100��g/L Ni, and 2.4% for 10.0 ��g/L Cd. The analytical results obtained for determining Co in standard reference bovine liver (NBS1577a) and Ni, Cd in standard reference urine (GBWO9103) agree well with the recommended values.

Abstract:A novel method for the determination of ultra-trace cobalt by dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) coupled with graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry has been developed. It is based on the color reaction of Co2+ with 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-dimethylaminoaniline (5-Br-PADMA) in a Britton–Robinson buffer solution at pH 6.0 to form stable hydrophobic chelates, which were separated and enriched by DLLME with 1,2-dichloroethane (CH2ClCH2Cl) as extraction and acetonitrile (CH3CN) as a dispersive solvent. The sedimented phase containing the chelates is then determined with GFAAS. Parameters that affect extraction efficiency, such as types and volumes of extraction and disperser solvents, pH of sample solution, extraction time, concentration of the chelating agent 5-Br-PADMA, and salt effect, were investigated. Under optimal conditions, the calibration graph was linear over the range 0.05–1.0 ng/mL, with a correlation coefficient of 0.9922 and a detection limit of 0.03 ng/mL. Preconcentration factor (PF) is calculated as the ratio of the aqueous solution volume (5 mL) to that of the organic phase volume (40 μL), and enrichment factor (EF) is calculated as the ratio of the slopes of the calibration graphs obtained with and without DLLME for 5.0 mL of sample solution, which were 120 and 112.5, respectively. The extraction efficiency, calculated by EF/PF·100, was 93.8%. The relative standard deviation (RSD) at the 0.5 ng/mL Co2+ level was 3.8% (n = 6). The method has been applied to the determination of trace cobalt in water samples with satisfactory results.

Abstract:Determination of arsenic by atomic fluorescence spectrometry with bi-anode electrochemical hydride generation (BAECHG) was Investigated. This novel method reduced the use of chemical reagents and thus reduced environmental pollution because no chemical hydride generation procedure was used. Under the same conditions, the hydride generation efficiency of BAECHG was 99.0%-101.6% of that of chemical hydride generation method. Parameters and interference conditions were investigated. Under the selected conditions, the linear range was 0-120 mu g/L for arsenic (As, injection volume: 100 mu L). The detection limit (signal to noise ratio of 3:1) was 0.64 mu g/L. The relative standard deviation (RSD) obtained by using standard Solution with 60 mu g/L of As was 2.0% (n = 13). The proposed method was applied to analyze the reference soil sample (GBW07406), the result was consistent with the certified value. The spiked recoveries of piglet feed sample were 97.0%-103.0%. High sensitivity and good repeatability are the advantages of this method.

Abstract:The condition in which the plumbum(Pb),cadmium(Cd) were directly determined by Ultrasonic Pretreatment Suspension Sampling-transversely heated GFAAS.It is rapid,simple and accurate to use the method.The linear range for the determination of Pb was 0～100 ng·ml-1,the was 0.9997,and the detection limit was 2.8 ng·ml-1.The linear range for the determination of Cd was 0～10 ng·ml-1,the was 0.9992,and the detection limit was 0.8 ng·ml-1.Using the method in the analysis of the mud sample at the bottom of the River,the effect was well,and the recovery of the Pb was 91.5%～105.5%,the recovery of the Cd was 91.2%～101.2%.

Abstract:Simultaneous determination of two components in single wavelength using interferencing effect and atomic absorption spectrophotometry assisted by simulated annealing-back propagation of error-artificial neural networks algorithm was realized, and simultaneous determination of trace cadmium and arsenic in grains was studied. The results obtained are satisfactory. The recoveries found by standard addition method are 91%-98% and 87%-92% respectively. Relative standard deviations for 7 times of determinations are all less than 4%. This method is fast and simple.

Abstract:A simple, low cost and highly sensitive method based on solvent microextraction (SME) for separation/preconcentration and flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) was proposed for the determination of ultratrace amounts of cadmium in meat and fish samples. The analytical procedure involved the formation of a hydrophobic complex by mixing the analyte solution with an ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate (APDC) solution. In suitable conditions, the complex of cadmium-APDC entered the micro organic phase, and thus, separation of the analyte from the matrix was achieved. Under optimal chemical and instrumental conditions, a detection limit (3 sigma) of 0.8 ng L(-1) and an enrichment factor of 93 were achieved. The relative standard deviation for the method was found to be 2.2% for Cd. The interference effects of some anions and cations were also investigated. The developed method has been applied to the determination of trace Cd in meat and fish samples.

Abstract:A new method for the determination of ultra-trace cobalt by ionic liquid-dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction (IL-DLLME) and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) was developed. The trace cobalt was extracted by DLLME using the homemade reagent 2-(5-bromo-2-pyridylazo)-5-dimethylaminobenzenamine (5-Br-PADMA) as chelating agent, the ionic liquid 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([C 6 mim][PF 6 ]) as extractant, and acetonitrile (CH 3 CN) as dispersing agent, and then determined by GFAAS. The factors affecting the cobalt extraction efficiency: the type and volume of extraction solvent and dispersive solvent, the concentration and dosage of chelating agent, and the pH of the solution, were explored using the one-way rotation method. Under the optimized conditions, the cobalt concentration showed excellent linearity in the range of 0.05–1.50 ng/mL with the detection limit of 0.026 ng/mL; the relative standard deviation (RSD) for the determination of the cobalt standard solution with the mass concentration of 1.0 ng/mL was 4.83% ( n = 9). From the slope of the linear regression equation for the determination of cobalt obtained after extraction compared with that before extraction, the enrichment factor of the method was found to be 62, and the spiked recoveries were in the range of 94.0–104.4%. The method is characterized by low detection limit, high sensitivity, and environment friendliness as well as convenient and rapid operation for the determination of trace cobalt in water samples. The results of this method are satisfactory.
