Abstract:A multi-channel self-adaptive active noise control system is designed.It has four error inputs and two offset outputs.Furthermore,the structure,design method and control principle are introduced in detail.Using this system,160 Hz single-frequency sine noise,the third order harmonic sinusoidal noise and the actual noise from a certain type of submarine are experimented respectively in an ordinary closed room and the effect of 8 dB,10 dB and 20 dB are obtained respectively.The experimental result verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the system.

Abstract:A narrowband feedforward adaptive active control system for engine exhaust noise is proposed according to the characteristics of the engine exhaust noise. It uses the vibration or firing signal as the reference signal for the controller. The filtered-X LMS adaptive algorithm is used to update the coefficients of the controller. An auxiliary random noise generator is used to perform continuous on-line modeling of the secondary path, and the LMS adaptive algorithm is used for updating the coefficients of the identification filter. A set of experimental system is implemented and the computer programs are programmed. An active control test for a SUZUKI AX-100 motorcycle engine exhaust noise is carried out on this set, and over 30dB noise reduction is achieved below the frequency of 400 Hz.
Study On Adaptive Active Control Of Unstable Noise In Vehicle

Abstract:Vehicles often accelerate or decelerate when running because of road condition, automotive flow density and traffic signals and so on, so vehicle vibration and interior noise become unstable. In order to study on how to actively control interior noise in vehicle at unstable conditions, the adaptive active noise control (AANC) system was developed in this paper. According to the close correlation between dominant noise components and vibrating acceleration signals of engine-body, auto-body suspension, the interior noise signals were predicted from neural network by means of these vibrating acceleration signals. Then the forecasted. noise signals after being delayed adaptively filtered, phase-reversed and amplified were used as outputs of the secondary sound sources-loudspeakers to cancel low-frequency unstable noise in vehicle. For the purpose of following the changes of noise at real time, F-XLMS was selected as key adaptive control algorithm, with it the system can satisfy the requirements for the convergence and stability. Based on the ANNC system the unstable noise cancellation experiments were carried out in a given minibus. The experimental results' indicate that the AANC system is of the better stability and satisfactory convergence speed, and the sound pressure level in an automotive cabin can be reduced by about 8dB(Lin) whether the minibus accelerates or decelerates. At last the interior unstable noise signals from the experiments were analyzed in time and frequency domain with the wavelet analytic method, and the spectral characters of the unstable noise when an automobile changing its speed were showed.

Abstract:A neural network method of active noise control inside the automobile cabin is put forward in this paper. The Elman neural network is used to identify and forecast the noise signal at the driver's ear position, and offered the reference signal that the active noise control system need. The method could effectively eliminate the influence of sound feedback and promote stable performance of the control system. The experiment results obtained on the minibus under the stable operating condition show the method is effective to reduce low frequency noise inside the automobile cabin.

Abstract:Taking 16 in-vehicle noise samples acquired from 4 types of car under different conditions as evaluation objects, by means of the subjective evaluation test and the statistical analysis, a sound quality model was built to describe the subjective evaluation level by the objective psycho-acoustical parameters. It was found that the key factors affecting the in-vehicle sound quality under the steady conditions are the loudness and the sharpness. The active noise control experiments on the worst 2 noise samples were performed, and the results show that the loudness and the sharpness of the in-vehicle noise were both reduced. The improvement of the sound quality was confirmed by calculation using the established model and 2 subjective evaluation tests, the annoyance level of the sound was decreased by about 5. The active noise control is proved to be feasible and effective in the vehicle sound quality improvement.

Abstract:Studying on adaptive active noise control (AANC) system of the truck interior cab to reduce the low-frequency noise,a normalization FLMS algorithm simulink model is established in Matlab/Simulink.Then taking it as the core, a feedforward adaptive active control system and a feedback adaptive active control system of the tuck interior cab are established in Matlab/Simulink.Considerating the actual error channels effects on systems,the noise reduction effects of two adaptive active control systems are verified from the simulintion results.Through comparing the two wo adaptive active control systems,we found that the feedforward adaptive active control system is more stable.

Abstract:In order to reduce the interior noise caused by road excitation, the finite element analysis method is used to analyze the modal of the interior space, and then get the frequency response curve of the corresponding nodes in the car ear. Through the establishment of an adaptive neural network noise active control system simulink model, the simulation experiment is carried out. The experimental results show that the active control system of neural network noise control in the 0 to 50 Hz frequency band has good noise reduction effect and the average noise reduction is 4.3 dB. At 86 Hz, the maximum noise reduction is 9.8 dB, and the system can control the low frequency noise produced under the excitation of the road.

Abstract:According to the theory of ANC(Active Noise Control)and the characteristics of automobile cabin noise,and also taking the feed-forward digital self-adaptive controller as the core,the vibrating accelerations of engine and car body as inputs,the second loudhailer as output and the residual noise signals as feed-back,a closed-loop ANC technical program had been established.Non-acoustic signals were used as reference inputs to solve the problem of second acoustic wave's feed-back in ANC.A self-adaptive online identification with auxiliary noise called Zhang's method was used on secondary path modeling.The Normalized FLMS algorithm was adopted in self-adaptive filters to ensure the stability and convergence speed of the system.In MATLAB/Simulink,an ANC model of car's interior noise control was established and its feasibility has been discussed through the simulation results.

Abstract:The work tests and analyzes the engine noise distribution in a car with and without active control, where the car’s built-in loudspeakers are used as secondary sources to attenuate the engine noise inside the whole cabin. To analyze the sound field in detail, the noise level at 52 microphones on the passenger ears’ plane is measured and presented. The distributions of the primary overall noise, first four order noise of the engine, and the sound field generated by the subwoofer at engine orders’ frequencies are reported, and the noise reductions corresponding to overall engine noise and each order’s noise are analyzed. Besides, jury test is presented and compared with the calculated loudness of residual noise to evaluate the acoustic comfort improvement of the system. The experiment results show that the overall noise reduction is achieved inside the whole cabin by controlling the first four orders’ engine noise. The average noise reduction of the measurement area inside the cabin is 6.2 dB and 2.9 dBA. Besides, 93% of the participants feel the acoustic comfort is improved with the active noise control system on.

Abstract:This paper presents a scheme of reducing noises inside theautomobile room by means of the Hybrid Active Noise Controlling．It bases on the systematic researches on the technology of active noise controlling and the analysis of noise sources inside the automobile room．The proposed scheme can attenuate the total noise radiation from low frequency noises when a feedback controller is used，and can also attenuate the base and harmonic frequencies of the engine noises when a feed-forward controller is used．Analyses indicate that the presented scheme can reduce the automobile room noises effectively．

Abstract:Active noise control systems have been gaining popularity in the last couple of decades, due to the deficiencies in passive noise abatement techniques. In the future, a novel combination of passive and active noise control techniques may be applied more widely, to better control the interior sound quality of vehicles. In order to maximize the effectiveness of this combined approach, smarter algorithms will be needed for active noise control systems. These algorithms will have to be computationally efficient, with high stability and convergence rates. This will be necessary in order to accurately predict and control the interior noise response of a vehicle. In this study, a critical review of the filtered-x least mean square (FXLMS) algorithm and several other newly proposed algorithms for the active control of vehicle powertrain noise, is performed. The analysis examines the salient features of each algorithm, and compares their system performance. Numerical simulations utilizing synthesized data, are conducted to study the convergence rates of these algorithms. These convergence rates are critical for the noise control outcome. Furthermore, measured powertrain noise response is employed, to verify the system's performance under more realistic conditions. The individual engine orders are targeted for attenuation or enhancement, to achieve the desired vehicle interior sound quality.

Abstract:Active noise control (ANC) technology has been applied to reduce low frequency noise in vehicle cabins. Different from ANC in laboratory conditions, installation of the ANC system in vehicles for a long term use requires the solution of a number of practical issues. This paper reports the progress of a couple of practical ANC installations, and the implication and solution of practical issues such as magnitude and frequency variations (corresponding to different vehicle operating conditions) of the primary and reference signals, and poor coherence between primary and reference signals.

Abstract:The algorithm of single-channel adaptive notch filter in the active vehicle interior noise control system was deduced, and corresponding evaluating indicator was established. By means of modelling the path of secondary acoustic signal according to a prototype car, the influence of secondary path’s modelling mismatch was investigated. It was found that the system is not robust to the variation of windows’ opening and closing states. Hence, a method of robust design was put forward to optimize the model of secondary path and the convergence coefficient in the adaptive algorithm. The active interior noise control experiment based on rapid control prototype (RCP) indicated that the system after robust design was able to converge quickly and control target noise under different windows’ opening and closing states, which verify the effectiveness of robust design introduced in this paper.

Abstract:To solve the coupling between the each channel of the vehicle interior active noise control system, an active control method of multi-channel based on neural network model is proposed in this paper. The theory of this method is researched and the simulation of this method is analyzed by using the matlab/simlink toolbox. Vehicle interior active noise control experiments of dual-channel are carried out. The results show that the noise sound pressure level which in the local space around the driver's and copilot's ear positions is reduced by 10∼14dB(Lin). © copyright ASCE 2007.

Abstract:The usual adaptive filter can not be directly used in an active noise control system because there is an acoustic channel between the loudspeaker and the error microphone, and this acoustic channel will enable the system unstable. Based on the phase characteristic of the acoustic channel, we propose a method such that the transmission characteristic of the acoustic channel can be identified experimently. In room test, the errors of phase factor of a single channel are studied. The method is further applied to the active noise control in the cabin of an aircraft, and the test results are given.

Abstract:The power system and its noise characteristic of Fuel Cell Vehicle(FCV) are quite different from those of traditional cars.In FCV,the air auxiliary system becomes one of the main noise sources.In recent years,active noise control(ANC) has become a research focus.It has advantages for the traditional passive noise control in middle-and low-frequency range.However,because of the time-variation property of noise sources and environments,it is necessary to use adaptive active noise control(AANC) in middle-and low-frequency noise control of the air auxiliary system in FCV.In this paper,the development progress of ANC technology was summarized,and the research of ANC in recent years was expatiated.Analysis was focused on the research progress of adaptive algorithm.Finally,the prospect of the ANNC application in the field of vibration and noise reduction of the air auxiliary system in FCV was forecasted.

Abstract:Traditional vehicle active noise control (ANC) is designed to suppress unwanted vehicle response. In this study, an ANC system is proposed for tuning rather than suppressing vehicle interior response. The proposed concept is studied numerically, utilizing simulated control input speakers inside the passenger compartment. The proposed control algorithm is adapted from the basic filtered-x least mean squares (FXLMS) algorithm. In this case, instead of using the FXLMS algorithm to minimize the resultant sound pressure level, a set of target functions is added to the controller for shaping the vehicle interior response. The proposed computer simulation can incorporate either measured or predicted cavity acoustic transfer functions. Using this analysis model, the proposed approach is demonstrated using a powertrain noise example in which individual engine firing orders are targeted for shaping either by reducing or enhancing the spectral content.
