Abstract:In order to promote the operating skill of operators in power unit, this paper introduces a checking system of operation indexes under Web. The stored data that can reflect the operating level of unit is counted according to shift. The results are displayed dynamically on Intranet. This system helps to appraise operators equally and improve the economical efficiency of generating unit. Also the system structure and implementation method are analyzed in detail. Abstract:Objective To identify the outcomes and effect of applying the health check-up nursing quality control system developed as supervised by JCI quality assessment standards.Methods The monitoring system for nursing quality in the health check-up department is established within the framework of the hospital quality improvement committee and in line with characteristics of the department.Quality improvement tools may be called into play for analysis and decision making to revolve critical problems found in health check-up nursing,upgrading nursing quality and customer satisfaction.Results Significant rise of health check-up quality and customer satisfaction for nurses,and the nurses are trained in quality control knowledge and get further involved in quality management of their department.Conclusion Health check-up nursing management system under the JCI standard is conducive to raising the nursing quality,and helps nurses with problem analysis and solution.
A Study of Performance Measurement System Implementation in a High Volume Production Line

Abstract:Most managers have heard the platitude "what gets measured gets done", but the fact is that there is little empirical research on what constitutes an effective performance measurement (PM) system. Internal performance measures provide critical infrastructure that allows an operation to 1) document historical performance, 2) indicate current position with respect to operational strategy, 3) predict future performance, and 4) motivate and control behavior. PM system effectiveness can be described as a system's ability to address all of these functions. In order to develop grounded theory in PM system design and analysis, a single longitudinal case study was undertaken on a subassembly process in Hewlett Packard's high volume Inkjet pen cartridge production line in Singapore. A new PM system was introduced to "motivate operators to higher performance, provide for fairness and consistency in salary related performance evaluation, and encourage ownership in the operation". Measures emphasized workcentre yield, output, housekeeping, teamwork, suggestion system participation, quality workmanship, safety, and operator dependability (attendance) at the individual, team, and production line levels. Each operator was provided a monthly evaluation of his or her individual performance based on a point allocation system. Twenty-seven months of pre and post PM system implementation yield and operator productivity data were compared. Overall, production yield showed a significant increase in both level and rate of improvement. The level of operator productivity also improved significantly over the period studied. Individual performance measure effectiveness with respect to causality, improvement, and control were analyzed. Conclusions are drawn on PM system effectiveness from this analysis and feedback from line management. Recommendations are made for a subsequent round of PM system improvements and future research.

Abstract:The advance of new generation of IT and sensor technologies results in data enriched production environment. However, there is a lack of an effective utilization of the data to improve productivity while reducing quality management cost. Therefore, this paper proposes a systematic method to analyze the production dynamics, and presents an event-based method to quantitatively evaluate the impact of various disruptions on system throughput, including machine breakdown and quality failure. It is proved that the impact of the events can be measured with system loss which is the summation of the production loss of the slowest machine and the overall number of defective parts produced in the subsystem where the slowest machine locates in. The data-driven method is integrated into an optimization method to exploit the optimal quality inspection allocations. In the method, a non-linear optimization problem is formulated and solved with an adaptive genetic algorithm to trade off the penalty cost of production loss and the investment cost of quality inspection. The research results in a comprehensive understanding of production dynamics subject to quality inspection and rework. It is of critical importance to boost productivity with better quality inspection allocations. Simulation studies are performed to validate the proposed methods.

Abstract:Quality management has gained paramount importance in the manufacturing process. The emphasis on reduction of quality costs for analysis of alternatives in productivity improvement is increasing. Business today requires quality throughout the value chain. At the case study company, there is an ineffective quality management system with very little quality control and monitoring of activities thus leading to an average of 16% of the production hours being attributed to reworks, re-inspection, scrap and waste, hence impacting negatively on productivity. Due to final product inspection, reworks, re-inspection, scrap and waste have been on the increase within the production processes. The paper investigates the quality issues that are negatively impacting on productivity using a qualitative approach. Measures to improve quality are suggested resulting in productivity improvement. Some of these measures include training employees, and adoption of quality tools such as statistical Process Control amongst others.

Abstract:The fault diagnosis and inspection policy were discussed for a system which has two operating states (normal, abnormal) and a failure state. The system is inspected periodically. The purpose of inspection is to identify the state of system and adopt appropriate repair strategy by measuring the value of diagnosis parameter. Because the system is deteriorated gradually and a replacement is expensive, several imperfect repairs are allowed until a replacement is needed. The objective of this paper is to determine the optimal critical value of diagnosis parameter and the optimal inspection cycle such that the expected profit per unit in steady states is maximized. Reliability indexes of the system are also derived. Probability analysis and vector Markov process are used in this paper. Researches on the numerical example show the feasibility of the policy.

Construction of cleaner production management system in China: mode innovation of cleaner production

Abstract:This study is based on the practice of cleaner production (CP) audits in more than 300 enterprises. After reviewing 1484 CP options, it is found that 82.5% of the options are directly and indirectly related to management. Moreover, there are common problems such as the poor sustainability of CP audit results. This shows that enterprise management plays a significant role in implementing CP options. Based on these, this study proposes a new concept of cleaner production management (CPM) system, and draws lessons from the modern environmental management theory and method to establish the framework of CPM system. This system combines the theory and method of CP with the management system of enterprises and presents the CPM requirements in the current enterprise management system, which mainly includes CPM responsibilities, CP objectives, CPM indexes, CP energy resources management, CP process control, CP product management, CPM inspections, and CP performance evaluation. The characteristic of the proposed system is to construct a modern information-based CPM system. With highly systematic, concise structure, and easy operability, this system not only simplifies and improves the CP work in enterprises and reduces several tedious tasks such as document preparation, but also enhance the enterprise management efficiency and motivate the willingness of employees to participate in CP. Innovated and developed for CP implementation, the system has been implemented and applied in Chinese enterprises, and the implementation and application have obvious effects on improving production level as well as environmental and economic benefits.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the problem of inspection policies in a multistage serial production system. Based on the models for locating inspection stations and inspection level control, a generalized model was presented, and based on simulated annealing a stochastic search algorithm was developed. At the same time, it had been proved that the existing models locating inspection stations and inspection level control were the special cases of the generalized model here. Several examples were solved using the algorithm. The outcomes achieved here are better than those of the previous methods. In certain situations, optimal solutions are accessed.

Abstract:Aiming at the assembly process of wire bond of an enterprise, time study method was used to measure the task time of working procedures and then Arena was used to simulate the whole working process to evaluate it effectively. It was then found that its balance efficiency was very low. 5W1H check list, procedure analysis and operation analysis method were used to analyze further and it was then found that its job shop process, the unreasonable working procedures sequence and the great gap between the time taken by different working procedures were three main causes for the low balance efficiency. After that, problematic procedures were eliminated, combined, rearranged or simplified to make the procedures' content and their sequence more reasonable. All these improvements enable the working procedures much easier to be balanced. The last step to balance the assembly line was to reassign operators. All these improvements made the assembly line possess the advantages of flow-line production system and made the balance efficiency be increased by 30% at least according to the result of simulation by Arena. This verified the effectiveness of work study in the improvement of production process and assembly line balancing.

Abstract:First the authors have made a general revision of emergency management records, then, they have given a detailed discussion on the relation among environment, emergency itself and the impact of the three main elements of emergency on the society. Since the emergencies are the events that take place unexpectedly and beyond human control, and in turn bring about negative influence on human society in somewhat unfavourable state, it is natural that the society gives active response to such emergencies. Facing such unhappy emergencies, it is of primary importance to think how to design an efficient monitoring network and raise the efficiency of the managing system. The main features of emergency include the speed of its happening, duration and the space of impact. Next, the authors category the various emergent events and the mutual relations between the disasters. Later, the authors brought out a emergency system management framework, composing with emergency hazards, human society, monitoring, risk identifying and evaluation sub-systems. The key factor in dealing with emergency hazards is to optimise these sub-systems and heighten the efficiency of the controlling system. Finally, the article has made a detailed discussion of the models of emergency identification, the perfection of monitoring network and tactics so as to optimise the resources to prevent and salvage of viable emergencies.

Abstract:The article considers modern approaches to improvement of production processes at the enterprise, practical application of production development methods, issues of realization of production technologies in industry. A necessary condition for development of production is disclosed - increasing the efficiency of using technological potential through realization of the potential for strengthening its control systems. The article is devoted to studying the variability of application of adaptive methods for improvement of processes, technologies, and systems. Also, the effectiveness of development methods is determined by the example of their adaptation to the practice of the economic entity. Solutions to increase the competitiveness of enterprises cover the sphere of production, development of organizational systems of management, and "Kaizen" system. Analysis of practice and modern approaches to increase competitiveness is carried out in the context of implementation of solutions by domestic producers. In the course of the research it is determined that to solve tasks, it is necessary to develop the technological process of manufacturing product, as well as elements of the production system in part maintenance and operation of equipment. It is proved that the implementation of production development program will increase the utilization of production capacities, reduce the cost of production, change the indicator of time maintenance of production machines and equipment, and reduce used production area.
