Abstract:Essential oils from eucalyptus spp were studied by CGC-MSD.21 compounds were separated and identified,which accounted over 97.57% of the volatile oil.The major components were eucalyptol,bicyclohept-2-ene,3,7,7-trimethyl,3-cyclohexene-1-methanol,alpha,alpha,4-trimethyl,ledol,etc.

Abstract:Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, chemometric resolution method ( CRM) and overall volume integration method were used to analyze the essential components of herbal pair Herba Ephedrae-Ramulus Cinnamomi (HP HE-RC) and compare it with that of single herbs HE and RC. 72, 68, and 97 essential components in essential oil of HE, RC, and HP HE-RC were determined, accounting for 90. 08% , 91. 62% , and 89. 76% of total contents of essential oil of HE, RC, and HP HE-RC, respectively. The numbers of essential components of HP HE-RC are almost the summation of that of two single herbs, but some relative contents of them are changed. Some new components, such as 1, 6-dimethylhepta-1,3,5-triene, tetracyclo[4. 2. 1.1 (2,5 ). 0 (9,10) ] deca-3,7-diene, globulol, ( E, E) -6, 10,14-trimethyl-5,9,13-pentadecatrien-2 -one, etc. have been found in HP HE-RC because of chemical reactions and physical changes during the course of decocation.

Abstract:The chemical constituents of the essential oil of Evodia subtrigonosperma obtained from the fruits by steam distillation were studied with GC-MS method in this paper. 65 constituents were isolated,and 60 constituents were identified.They are limonene,α-pinene,Germacrene-D,δ-cadinene,elemol,myrcene,and β-caryophyllene et al.

Abstract:The essential oils from the stem and root of Herba junci setchuensis were extracted by steam distillation.The yields of the essential oils from the stem and the root reached 0.25% and 0.2%,respectively.The chemical constituents of the oil were analyzed and identified by GC-MS techniques with NIST library,and quantitatively determined with normalization method.For the first time,9 and 8 compounds were identified,and occupy 94.53% and 94.74% of all essential oils from the stem and root of Herba junci setchuensis,respectively.The results showed that the constituents in the volatile oil of stem and root of Herba junci setchuensis were very similar,and the main compounds were long-chain alkane,long-chain fatty acid and unsaturated long-chain fatty alcohol,but the aromatic compounds are rare.The results provide theoretical basis for the exploitation and utilization of Herba junci setchuensis.

Abstract:The chemical constituents of the essential oil obtained from the leaves of Eucalyptus globulus Labill in the Cangshan mountain region in the Yunnan Province of China were analyzed by GC-MS. Forty-seven compounds were identified in the essential oils and the main constituents of the essential oils were 1, 8-eucalyptol (72.71 %), α-pinene (9.22 %), α-terpineol (2.54 %), (-)-globulol (2.77 %), α-terpineol acetate (3.11 %), and alloaromadendrene (2.47 %).

Abstract:Objective:To analyze constituents of volatile oil from Gardenia jasminoides.Methods:The constituents of volatile oil from Gardenia jasminoides was investigated by SPME/GC/MS.Results:32 compounds were separated and identified,which accounted for 81.74% of total volatile oil.Conclusion:The main constituents in the essential oil from Gardenia jasminoides are linalool(27.73%),(Z)-3-hexenyl pentenoate(24.38%),Hexyl tiglate(11.42%)and α-farnesene(5.20%).

Abstract:Objective To analyze the volatile constituents in herbal pair(HP)Ephedra sinica Stapf-Zingiber officinal Rosc(ESS-ZOR)and its single herb.Methods Analysis of common volatile constituents in herbal pair and its single herb was performed by the method of gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)and alternative moving window factor analysis(AMWFA).the application of retention index has greatly improved the accuracy of qualitative analysis.Results In total,59,43,and 67 volatile oil of ESS,ZOR and HP ESS-ZOR were separately determined qualitatively and accounting for 77.85%quantitatively,66.51%and 87.54%total contents of volatile oil of and HP,respectively.Conclusion It indicates that there are 15 common volatile constituents in HP and single herb ESS,and 36 common volatile constituents in HP and single herb ZOR and 7 common volatile constituents among these three systems by the method of AMWFA.Volatile chemical components in HP are mainly from single herb ZOR.

Abstract:Objective: The chemical components of the essential oil from Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq. were analyzed by GC MS.Methods: The essential oil was extracted from Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq. by steam distillation, the components anlalyzed with the different kinds of capillary columns, the optimum separated and analytical conditions were researched, the amount of the components from the essential oil was determinated by normalization method. The components separated were identified by GC MS.Results:47 Components composed of about 87% of the total essential oil were separated and identified.Conclusion: The method is reliable, stable and repeatble and this method can be applied to the analysis of the essential oil components extracted from traditional Chinese medicine.

Abstract:Objective:To study the chemical constituents of volatile oil from leaf and bark in Eucommia ulmoides Oliv.Methods:The chemical compositions of volatile oil of the plant which were obtained by steam distillation with hexane were analyzed by GC-MS equipped with a elastic quartz capillary column OV-1701(30m×250μm×0.25μm).The constituents were identified by their mass spectra.The relative percentage of the oil constituents was calculated from the GC peak areas.Results:There were 43,26,29,31 kinds of chemical constituents in Eucommia ulmoides Oliv female grmplasms and male grmplasms's leaf and bark were separated;29,21,14,18 of which were identified.Conclusion:In this research we found that the volatile oil with insect resistance and medical component,proved that there was notable difference between female grmplasms and male grmplasms and between different organs.
Effects of extract methods on chemical constituents of essential oil from Rhodiola crenulata by GC-MS

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To study the effects of different extract methods on chemical constituents of the essential oil from Rhodiola crenulata growing in the western Sichuan province plateaus of China.METHODS The essential oil was extracted by steam distillation and solvent extraction,respectively,and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively by GC-MS technique.RESULTS In the sample extracted by steam distillation,90 components were separated totally and 57 constituents were identified,which occupied 80.6% of essential oils.The major constituents were geraniol(27.77%),2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol(9.70%),1-octanol(8.50%).In the sample extracted by solvent extraction,34 components were separated totally,28 constituents were identified,which occupied 91.9% of essential oils.The major constituents were cyclotetracosane(26.28%),1-nonadecene(13.91%),linoleic acid(10.30%).CONCLUSION Different extract methods have important influence on chemical constituents of the essential oil from Rhodiola crenulata.

Abstract:Objective:To study the chemical constituents of the volatile oil from Herba gei and give essential numbers for controlling quality and studies.Methods:The oil was obtained by steam distillation.The chemical compositions were separated and identified by GC/MS.The relative contents in the oil were determined by are a nomalization.Results:Fifty-nine components were detected in the volatile constituents of Caulis Lonicerae.;of which forty-three components representing 87.51% of the oil were characterized.Conclusion:The major constituents are α-pinene 10.73%,myrtanal 13.63%,myrtenal 7.19%,myrtenol 5.03%,bicydo[3,1,1]heptane,6,6-dimethyl-3-methylene 6.83%,eugenol 15.82%.The highest content in the oil is eugenol.

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the chemical components of the essential oil from different parts of the Ilex hainanensis and provide scientific basis for its quality control.Method:The volatile oil from the leaves,stem of I.hainanensis was obtained by steam distillation and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry.The relative content was determined by area normalization.Result:Twenty-four components were identified from the stem,in which accounting for 94.97% of total volatile oil.33 components were identified from the leaves,in which accounting for 98.48% of total volatile oil.Stems and leaves contain volatile oil composition of compounds:furfural,(2E,4E)-hexadiene,(6Z)-2,6-dimethyl-2,6-octadiene,hexylacetate,dipentene,1-octanol,5-ethenyltetrahydro-.alpha,alpha-5-trimethyl-,cis-2-furanmethanol,terpinolen,inalool,alpha-terpineol,beta-cyclocitral,(Z)-geraniol,geraniol,cyclohexyl n-hexanoate,irisone.Conclusion:The results can be used as the quality standard and provide scientific basis for further development and utilization of I.hainanensis.
[Study on Chemical Constituents of Essential Oil of Vitexd Rotundifolia L. by Gas Chromatography/mass Spectrometry].

Abstract:The essential oil of the Vitexd rotundifolia L. was abstracted by steam distillation. The oil obtained was dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate. The chemical constituents were analyzed by GC/MS. More than 30 peaks were separated by GC, and 28 compounds were identified by using NBS mass spectral data, and the Wiley/NBS registry of mass spectral data. The structrure of delta3-carene was further verified by GC/FTIR. The identified constituents represent over 95% of the peak area on TIC of the essential oil. The major chemical constituents of them are delta3-carene, 1,8-cineole, sabinene, beta-phellandrene and isoterpinolene.

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the chemical compositions of the essential oil and petroleum ether extract from wenyujin decoction.Method: Essential oils of wenyujin decoction were extracted by water-decoction,separated and identified by GC-MS.The relative percent content of each volatile component was quantified by area normalization method.Result: Twenty-two of the 24 separated constituents in volatile oil of wenyujin decoction were identified and quantified.Conclusion: The study on the volatile components and petroleum ether extract from wenyujin decoction provided certain scientific evidence for better clinical applications.

Abstract:Objective:To analyse the chemical constituents of Artemisia leucophylla (Turcz. ex Bess.)Clarke.Methods:The essential oil from Artemisia leucophylla(Turcz. ex Bess.)Clarke was extracted by steam distillation and the chemical constituents were analysed by capillary GC-MS method?The relative content of each component was calculated by area normalization.Results: 31 peaks were separated and all of them were identified.The main chemical components were 2,5-Octadiene(41.42%),(Z,Z)-3,5-Octadiene(17.87%),Eucalyptol(6.75%),1,5-Heptadien-4-one,3,3,6-trimethyl-(3.26%),Benzene,1-methoxy-4-(2-propenyl)-(2.79%),Hexane,3,3,4,4-tetramethyl-(2.71%),1R-alpha-Pinene(2.67%),Cyclopropane,(1-methyl-1,2-propadienyl)-(2.61%),1,6,10-Dodecatriene,7,11-dimethyl-3-methylene(2.30%),etc.Conclusion:The results were reported for the first time.The study provided solid and scientific proof for the further exploitation and utilization of Artemisia leucophylla (Turcz. ex Bess.)Clarke.

Abstract:Active volatile components in drug pair（DP）Herba Ephedrae-Ramulus Cinnamomi（HE-RC）,single drug HE and RC were analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry（GC/MS）,chemometric resolution method（CRM）and overall volume integration.By means of CRM,the two-dimensional data obtained from GC-MS instruments were resolved into a pure chromatogram and a mass spectrum of each chemical compound.In total,97,62,and 78 volatile chemical components in volatile oil of HE,RC,and DP HE-RC,were respectively determined qualitatively and quantitatively,accounting for 90.08%,91.62%,and 89.76% total contents of volatile oil of HE,RC,and DP HE-RC respectively.It is further demonstrated that the numbers of volatile components of DP HE-RC are almost the sum of those of two single drugs,but some relative contents of them are changed.Some new components,such as 1,6-dimethylhepta-1,3,5-triene,tetracyclo[4.2.1.1（2,5）.0（9,10）]deca-3,7-diene,globulol and（E,E）-6,10,14-trimethyl-5,9,13-pentadecatrien-2-one are found in DP HE-RC because of chemical reactions and physical changes during decoction.

Abstract:To analyze and compare the chemical constituents of the essential oil in the Periploca calophylla(Wight)Falc.and P.forrestii Schlecht.leaves.The essential oils were extracted by steam distillation and analyzed by means of GC-MS-DS.The relative content of each constituent was calculated by area normalization.11 chemical constituents of the essential oil in P.calophylla(Wight) Falc.leaves were identified,which occupied 98.99% in the total quantity of the essential oil;19 chemical constituents of P.forrestii Schlecht.leaves were identified,which occupied 94.54% in the total quantity.The main chemical constituents of the essential oil in these two plants were similar,and they were 11,14,17-Eicosatrienoic acid methyl ester,Palmitic acid and Linoletic acid.

Abstract:Objective: Ephedra , widely used in clinical practice as a medicinal herb, belongs to the genus Ephedra in the family Ephedraceae. However, the presence of numerous Ephedra varieties and variants requires differentiation for accurate identification. Methods: In this study, we employed headspace gas chromatography mass spectrometry (HS-GC-MS), ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-Q-TOF-MS), and global natural products social molecular networking (GNPS) for chemical component identification. Chemometric analysis was used to analyze the differential components. Metabolic analysis and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes (KEGG) enrichment were utilized to explore the synthesis pathways of different components. Result: A total of 83 volatile and 79 non-volatile components were identified in Ephedra species. Differential analysis revealed that among the eight Ephedra stems, 18 volatile and 19 non-volatile differential compounds were discovered, whereas Ephedra roots exhibited 21 volatile and 17 non-volatile markers. Volatile compounds were enriched in four synthetic pathways, while non-volatile components were enriched in five pathways among the differentiated components. Conclusion: This study is the first to conduct a comparative analysis of chemical components in different Ephedra species and parts. It provides a foundational reference for authenticating Ephedra herbs, evaluating medicinal resources, and comparing quality in future studies.
