Abstract:With the increasing of Multimedia applications over Internet,TCP-friendly congestion control scheme for (multimedia) streaming becomes a hot spot.This mechanism based on RTP/RTCP protocol.Congestion stated is notified to the sender using ECN.RED queue management is used in the router.TCP-friendly rate adjustment algorithm is adopted in the end host.ECNBCC is TCP-friendly and can respond to early congestion of network to reduce the packet loss rate and delay.This mechanism can also be applied to congestion control of wireless multimedia streaming.
Mechanisms For Resource Reservation In Mobile Ipv6 Networks

Abstract:Mobile IPv6 (MIPv6) has been proposed to support host mobility in the next generation mobile networks. With the development of various multimedia applications, the requirement for QoS guarantee in such systems is coming. In this paper we first present an overview of RSVP extensions for reserving resources in mobile networks. We divide existing researches into four aspects: management of resource reservation, re-establishment of reservation path, design of mobile agent and integration of RSVP and mobility management. For each scheme we describe the basic idea and make comments on the advantages and disadvantages. Then we propose a QoS guarantee scheme in Fast Handovers for Mobile IPv6 (FMIPv6) architecture, using some mechanisms mentioned previously. Finally we draw the conclusion and present some future work.

Abstract:This review paper covers several quality of service (QoS) models provided by Internet including IntServ, DiffServ and MPLS. It analyses the architecture and technological characteristics of each model. After an introduction of each model, this paper summarizes what QoS requests they can fulfill and how they implement these requests. It also describes the support of multicast in QoS models in brief. Based on these analytical studies, this paper proposes a total architecture of top-to-bottom, end-to-end QoS model, which takes full advantage of the virtues of the models described beforehand. This model has two prominent points: End-to-End QoS guarantee and flexible extensibility, which represent the trend for the future research of QoS.

Abstract:After the discussion of field research scientific significance,the system quality of service(QoS),reputation mechanisms and reputation incentive were reviewed respectively.Finally,the issue remains in this area were summarized after the overseas research review.After years of study,it has been some progress in the field of E-services reputation mechanism,the problem forced to be resolved are inconsistent definitions of trust,lack of feedback incentive,poor security of trust model,high complexity of trust model to achieve.Therefore,problems such as peer-to-peer(P2P) E-services QoS evaluation model,two-way trust model integrated with QoS and reputation incentives,trust model security,are becoming the focus and main direction of our future work.

Abstract:Scavenger Service is a non-elevated QoS technique proposed by the Internet2 project. This paper presents a LAWRRQ(Logarithmical Adaptive Weighted Round Robin Queuing) Algorithm for Scavenger Service. The Algorithm tunes proportion of scavenger service bandwidth logarithmically according to the number of active Scavenger Service flows to reach better performance and robustness. Simulations show that it provides more reliable bottom bandwidth guarantee for Scavenger Service flows while protecting Best Effort flows well.

Abstract:For the accuracy of the Intserv/RSVP and the scalability of the Diffserv, the two service models which IETF introduced to provide end-to-end quality of service, can complement each other in many respects and can coexist for a long time. Most of the specifications for "gluing" the Intserv and Diffserv and RSVP together have not been standardized yet, therefore an important challenge for router vendors is to design a RSVP-capable router that can support mixed services models at a flexible manner. In this paper, we present the design of an experimental RSVP-capable router that can provide transport of integrated traffic of different services. We implement a traffic control block on the data plane and RSVP daemon and management agents on the control plane. Finally, we present the test results to demonstrate that our router can indeed provide flexible and reliable support for multiple QoS services.

Abstract:QoS (Quality of Service) guarantee is highly desirable for many service-oriented computer and network applications on the Internet. This paper focuses on the timeliness aspect of QoS, especially the end-to-end delay guarantee. Resource reSerVation Protocol (RSVP) has been proposed based on the Integrated Service (InteServ) model to provide the QoS guarantee through bandwidth reservation that is applicable to jobs with continuous data flows over a period of time, such as those for tele-conferencing, voice over IP, video and audio streaming applications. There are other applications such as emails generating one-time, instantaneous jobs that cannot be characterized by the flow rate and peak rate for bandwidth reservation. Hence, RSVP is not applicable to instantaneous jobs. This paper presents QoS protocols, called Instantaneous RSVP (I-RSVP) and Stable Instantaneous Resource reSerVation Protocol (SI-RSVP), which are developed for providing the end-to-end delay guarantee of instantaneous jobs. The performance of I-RSVP and SI-RSVP are tested and compared with that of the best effort service model using both small and large scale network simulations.

Abstract:After detailed analysis of four IP QoS protocols under develop (RSVP, DiffServ, MPLS and SBM), it is found that , although each protocol can support QoS service in network, none of then can be solutions to end-to-end QoS in large scale network all by itself, Only the utilization of all four procotols can realize deterministic transmission of user traffic flow in WAN. From this on, an integrated architecture for end-to-end IP QoS service is given.

Abstract:RSVP-TE is currently widely studied because it is capable of ensuring the QoS in IP network,In this paper,a novel scheme of data storage and access based on a storage structure of planar chain is originally proposed to serve the demand of rapid storage and access in the State Block(SB) module of RSVP-TE.The time complexity is reduced from O(M*N) to O(M+N).The experiment results show better performance of the time.

Abstract:Cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) has been gaining momentum due to its advantages on vehicle safety, autonomous driving, and modern intelligent driving experience. Faced with these features, we introduce a novel C-V2X framework based on network slicing and spatial reuse, which supports simultaneous transmissions for both ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) and enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) services. We adopt the punctured scheduling for arriving URLLC packets and propose a matching and replacement strategy with the consideration of tailored on-demand service requirements. Numerical results demonstrate the feasibility of our proposed mechanism.

Abstract:A new system scheme was proposed to realize conversational voice services with high QoS requirements in wireless local area networks (WLAN). This scheme contains a network model consisting of wireless terminals, wireless access point, voice gateway and internet, while the adopted protocol stack architecture of the wireless terminals inside WLAN is RTP/UDP/IP/LLC802.2/802.11e, from application layer to medium access control (MAC) layer respectively. In MAC layer, an improved Multipoll based on hybrid coordination function (HCF) of standard IEEE 802.11e was presented by designing the polling mechanisms and the polling frame formats. The admission control policy was derived to satisfy delay and bandwidth requirements, and the polling efficiency formulae of Multipoll and Singlepoll were also derived. Simulation results show that the proposed system scheme can provide QoS guarantees, such as bandwidth and maximal packet delay, for conversational voice services; and that Multipoll is much more efficient than Singlepoll. The throughput performances obtained by simulation are very close to the analytical results, which means that the system throughput can be accurately estimated using the presented formulae.

Abstract:A resource sharing scheme for the efficient transport of the integrated services in ATM networks is introduced in this paper Flows with the same character are classified into one VP The scheme dynamically allocates a certain amount of bandwidth to each VP based on the bandwidth of a connection,the traffic flowing in the VP and the link residual capacity The allocation policy is shown to successfully reduce the normalized processing load while keeping higher transmission efficiency The paper introduces two new concepts:hysteresis and resource reservation Their effects on the call loss probability and the normalized processing load are analysed At last detailed theoretical analyses and computer simulation results are presented

Abstract:In order to provide QoS guarantees for data transmission, we developed the QoS router, which can seek feasible paths subject to QoS requirements for the IP packets. However, the QoS router cannot be deployed extensively in the Internet because the current routers need to be modified. Based on the overlay network, we propose QoS Routing Network (QOSRN), which consists of fewer QoS routers and virtual links. We go further by researching into the impact of the arrangement of QoS routers upon the performance of QOSRN. Extensive simulations show that by adopting reasonable arrangement scheme, e.g. deploying border routers first, QOSRN achieves high performance without increasing the load of the network excessively. The research result can give some guidance to the construction of the overlay network that provides QoS guarantees. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.

Abstract:Video streaming requires high quality of service (QoS) guarantee of transport system, but current Internet only provides best-effort service, and is not suit for real-time transform of video data. To address the issues of meeting delay-constrained video streaming over Internet, this paper presents and end-to-end adaptive transmission approach without any modification to the Internet infrastructure. The design emphasis is on trying to obtain the best quality of video reception possible in the absence of network QoS guarantees. According to the estimation of available bandwidth and network feedback information, the video steam sender could adjust the sending rate, and then achieve the best transmission efficiency. Two kinds of streaming services have been considered in proposed protocols: stored video and live video. Simulation results show the well performance of proposed system for Internet video streaming.

Abstract:This paper first introduces some factors affecting QoS of VoIP System, and presents some strategies to improve VoIP speech quality. Studies are concentrated on an adaptive algorithms based on IP telephony gateway, which includes adopting buffer to smooth the jitter, low bit rate redundancy packet sending mechanism to recover the packet loss, a delay and loss measurement mechanism based on RTP (Real-time transmit protocol), and an adaptive scheme algorithm according to the loss ratio and end to end delay. Finally, the results of testing have denoted that these adaptive mechanisms applied in gateway can improve greatly QoS of VoIP.

Abstract:The first decade of the 21st century has seen tremendous improvements in mobile internet and its technologies. The high traffic volume of services such as video conference and other real-time traffic applications are imposing a great challenge on networks. In the meantime, demand for the use of mobile devices in computation and communication such as smart phones, personal digital assistants, and mobile-enabled laptops has grown rapidly. These services have driven the demand for increasing and guaranteing bandwidth requirements in the network. A direction of this paper is in the case of resource reservation protocol (RSVP) over mobile IPv6 networks. There are numbers of proposed solutions for RSVP and quality of service provision over mobile IPv6 networks, but most of them using advanced resource reservation. In this paper, we propose a mathematical model to determine maximum end-to-end delay bound through intermediate routers along the network. These bounds are sent back to the home agent for further processing. Once the home agent receives maximum end-to-end delay bounds, it calculates cumulative bound and compares this bound with the desired application end-to-end delay bound to make final decision on resource reservation. This approach improves network resource utilization.
