Abstract:This paper uses ANSYS 10.0 software to analyze and calculate electromagnetic field of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator(PMSG). Verify rationality of magnetic circuit by the results of magnetic flux density and magnetic field intensity; optimize shape of permanent magnet and reduce harmonics quantity by air-gap flux density harmonics analysis, and use value to solve Electromotive Force(EMF). The simulation result proves that the model satisfies the design requirements and can provide theoretical guide for the optimization design of PMSG.

Abstract:The modeling process of multiphase PMSM variable speed system was expressed in detail based on analyzing the characters of system.Furthermore,the two closed loops control modulation system for the six phase PMSM based on field oriented control were established.Some engineering problems for multiphase PMSM variable speed system also have been discussed,and the circuit of sampling,protection,and fault disposal were designed,moreover,the software of interrupt handling and fault diagnosis were designed.Finally,the simulation result proved the veracity and feasibility of modeling and algorithm above.The hardware circuit was also designed.

Abstract:A CAD system for magnetic bearing is an important tool for design of the magnetic bearing. First, the requirements of the CAD system for magnetic bearing were analyzed based on the design situations in present. Then, the data structure of the system and the method to storage the parameters of the magnetic bearing were researched, and the use cases of the system were designed based on it. Finally, the main functions of the system were presented.

Abstract:Hybrid excitation rare earth permanent magnet synchronous generator is a new type generator, which can solve the output voltage regulation problem of the PM generator. The rotor of the generator has two parts, they are the permanent part and the electrical magnetic part. Both parts share one armature. The electrical part uses a claw-liking structure, it has the same axis direction of the permanent. To regulate the magnetic field of the electrical part can regulate the output voltage. The basic principles and the design method of the auxiliary part of the hybrid excitation rare earth permanent magnet synchronous generator are discussed. It is testified by experiment that the electrical magnetic part has regulated the voltage well.

Abstract:In order to show the performance of the outer rotor permanent magnet generator timely and accurately under different input parameters, we coupled two software of outer rotor permanent magnet generator experimental platform based on LabVIEW (Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Engineering Workbench)-Virtual torque and Three-phase electric parameter tester. Firstly, we picked up the DLL (Dynamic Link Library) of virtual torque and generated an excel file through VB (Visual Basic), through LabVIEW we picked up the excel form to acquire the system input parameters (torque and speed); Secondly, we collected the real-time parameters (voltage and current) of three-phase power meter by means of the LabVIEW serial communication; Lastly, we could see the efficiency of the outer rotor permanent magnet generator on the LabVIEW front panel. The experiment show that we can couple the input and output parameters of the system based on LabVIEW, and we can see the efficiency of the outer rotor permanent magnet generator under each fixed input parameters. This experiment avoid the tedious work that people deal with data, optimize the software system of outer rotor permanent magnet generator experimental platform, and provide the technical support for optimal design of permanent magnet generator.

Abstract:The measuring and analyzing superficial magnetic field distribution of permanent magnet are realized by the system based on the programming language Lab Windows/CVI,the XYZθ four coordinates movement machines,BH transducer amplifier,data acquisition unit etc.Testing results are displayed on real-time and can be inquired.Magnetic field distributions can be displayed in 3D or in 2D of the any section based of the regular and symmetry magnet on the rectangular coordinates or the polar coordinates systems.This system can be used to not only appraisement and analysis of designing,R D for magnetic devices,but also online measurement for magnetizing.

Abstract:For the need of theoretical research and actual test on permanent magnet,this paper designs a system which can measure the section flux of permanent magnet automatically.The PLC control sys-tem,mechanical device and the flux measure coil of the system is specially designed.An actual measure-ment and a 3D finite element simulation of a cylindrical permanent magnet have been done.The result of simulation and test is contrasted and analyzed,and shows that the measurement system can measure the permanent magnet's section flux automatically through programming,and have a high accuracy.

Abstract:The power converter control system has a great impact on the behavior of the high-speed permanent magnet generator system (HSPGS) due to the high operating frequency. In this paper, a 3-D modeling based on finite-element analysis directly coupled with a power converter control system is built in order to accurately evaluate generator performance. The influence of the control system current time harmonics on the 3-D flux distribution, the vector eddy current in rotor sleeve, and the iron loss of the machine are investigated. The analytical model is validated by experimental test results from a developed prototype of the HSPGS. The obtained results could provide a reference for the system-level design and investigation for the HSPGS in the further design.

Abstract:Owing to the non-accuracy of the magnetic circuit calculation of the PM synchronous machines by the traditional field-path coupling method, the Maxwell 12, a kind of new designing software for the PM synchronous machines was applied to realize the design optimization for the PM synchronous machines. First, the magnetic method software, Rmxprt was used to analyze the affection to the motor performance caused by the magnetized direction of permanent magnet length and gap. Then, the finite element analysis software of Maxwell 12 was applied to simulate the electromagnetic field of the PM synchronous motor, judging the rationality of the design. Finally, came the design optimization by means of the combined method.

Abstract:This paper presents a 7 MW direct-drive permanent magnet wind power generator with tapering stator teeth and distributed arrangement of superconducting armature windings. Abstract:According to the characteristics of wind turbine and the maximum power point tracking theory,a simulation platform composed of a permanent magnet synchronous generator and an AC-DC-AC converter is designed,based on PSCAD/EMTDC.Component models are formed and the implementation of system functions is addressed.The magnetic torque is controlled by regulating quadrature stator current to optimize the wind energy absorption.And the inverter regulates real and reactive power independently.The present paper also simulates system performance during various system faults,considering requirements for the conversion system to improve system-fault endurance.Simulations prove that this system can optimize the wind energy absorption according to various wind speeds.It also has appropriate LVRT capability,and great endurance to unbalance faults.

Abstract:The structure and magnetic circuit of the modern permanent magnet (PM) generator are often very complicated, which makes the traditional finite element analysis of magnetic field highly difficult. This paper establishes an equivalent magnetic circuit model of a new double-radial PM generator using the traditional equivalent circuit method and data analysis, introduces the calculation formulas of permeance and leakage permeance (LP) in magnetic circuits in detail, analyzes the influence factors of the LP, and provides the solutions. These studies will have a certain guiding significance for the design and optimization of generator circuits. To obtain the best matching parameters, the main parameters of the generator are tested and analyzed, such as the thickness of PM steel in the magnetization direction, length of PM steel, number of pole pairs, and the thickness of spacer bush. Finally, a prototype is tested, and the results show that the output characteristics of the designed double-radial PM voltage-stabilizing generation device are very good.

Abstract:The architecture of the CAD system of a magnetic bearing is established by using pattern-oriented software architecture. Based on the pipe-filter pattern, all the present resources come from different developing environments, aiding the design of a magnetic bearing system, can be integrated into the system. Replacing the original pipes with database, the concurrent design can be realized in the design process, which changes the serial mode of traditional manufacture. The distributed and heterogeneous design resources can be integrated into the system and shared by importing the broker pattern. Combining pipe-filter pattern with broker pattern, the system is opening and easy to maintain and extend.

Abstract:Low speed, high torque machines are used in wind turbines where the turbine rotor is directly connected to the generator. A permanent magnet synchronous generator using high-energy rare-earth permanent magnets (PMs) is one common choice for this application, but rare-earth PMs have supply insecurities and cost risks. A rare-earth free 32-pole PM generator, using ferrite PMs in a spoke-type rotor, for use in a 12 kW experimental wind turbine is built and tested. Voltages and currents at load and no load are measured, as well as the magnetic field in the end regions of the machine. The generator can deliver the required power at nominal speed and has low harmonic content in the output. The electrical measurements are compared to two-dimensional finite element design calculations and the experimental results are lower than expected from simulations. The measured voltage is lower than expected, requiring a higher current than calculated for the rated power. Three-dimensional magnetic field simulations show that there are leakage flux paths in the end-regions that the two-dimensional design calculations overlook, explaining the discrepancy between simulations and measurements.
