Abstract:With the development of the Internet technologies and computer communication technologies, the traditionary circuit-switch based network must evolves to the new generation network which is based on the packet-switch technology. Facing the progress and status of the convergence of the three-networks, This document presents a distributed and SIP protocal based VoIP system prototype. Due to combinating of merits of SIP and IP, this model not only provides the interoperation with the existed network, but also provides an extendable plat for the NGN. This model uses private VoIP network to achieve the QoS.

Abstract:Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) was designed as a part of theoverall IETF multimedia data and control architecture currently incorporating many other protocols. It is an application-layer control protocol used to establish, modify and terminate multimedia sessions or calls. SIP is not attached to any particular conference control protocol. It is designed to be independent of the lower-layer transport protocol, and can be extended with additional capabilities. This paper focuses on the principles of SIP,and gives an example of session initiation of two parties using SIP.

Abstract:In this paper, we conduct research on Standard Interchange Protocol 2 (SIP2). Then, based on the research, a SIP2 class is designed using object-oriented model. The SIP2 class includes several methods, which comprise check in, check out, patron status, and so forth. To demonstrate its functionality, we use the SIP2 class in a new library circulation system. Compared to traditional protocols for transaction in library system, test results show that our implementation of SIP2 class works well and has a better performance.

Abstract:The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a multimedia signalling protocol that has evolved into a widely adopted communication standard. The integration of SIP into existing IP networks has fostered IP networks becoming a convergence platform for both real-time and non-real-time multimedia communications. This converged platform integrates data, voice, video, presence, messaging, and conference services into a single network that offers new communication experiences for users. The open source community has contributed to SIP adoption through the development of open source software for both SIP clients and servers. In this paper, we provide a survey on open SIP systems that can be built using publically available software. We identify SIP features for service development and programming, services and applications of a SIP-converged platform, and the most important technologies supporting SIP functionalities. We propose an advanced converged IP communication platform that uses SIP for service delivery. The platform supports audio and video calls, along with media services such as audio conferences, voicemail, presence, and instant messaging. Using SIP Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), the platform allows the deployment of advanced integrated services. The platform is implemented with open source software. Architecture components run on standardized hardware with no need for special purpose investments.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of integration of real-time services in Internet, an heterogeneous real-time services integrated platform based on Session Initiation Protocol(SIP) is proposed, in which, real-time services are assigned SIP URI address and encapsulated into atomic services with uniform interface.Atomic services are invocated by service-register and application-layer-routing mechanisms.Considering scalability of the platform, real-time information is transferred by P2P method.By implementing the prototype system, the public traffic guide system, the feasibility of this platform is proved.

Abstract:Existing standard protocols for the web and Internet telephony fail to deliver real-time interactive communication from within a web browser. In particular, the client-server web protocol over reliable TCP is not always suitable for end-to-end low latency media path needed for interactive voice and video communication. To solve this, we compare the available platform options using the existing technologies such as modifying the web programming language and protocol, using an existing web browser plugin, and a separate host resident application that the web browser can talk to. We argue that using a separate application as an adaptor is a promising short term as well as long-term strategy for voice and video communications on the web. Our project aims at developing the open technology and sample implementations for web-based real-time voice and video communication applications. We describe the architecture of our project including (1) a RESTful web communication API over HTTP inspired by SIP message flows, (2) a web-friendly set of metadata for session description, and (3) an UDP-based end-to-end media path. All other telephony functions reside in the web application itself and/or in web feature servers. The adaptor approach allows us to easily add new voice and video codecs and NAT traversal technologies such as Host Identity Protocol. We want to make web-based communication accessible to millions of web developers, maximize the end user experience and security, and preserve the huge global investment in and experience from SIP systems while adhering to web standards and development tools as much as possible. We have created an open source prototype that allows you to freely use the conference application by directing a browser to the conference URL.
