Abstract:The applications of GIS technology using in water supply industry are getting more popular,but the most chosen GIS products were universal ones,this phenomena made the system has much redundancy functions for water supply applications.In the same time,there still are some professional functions that the GIS system can not achieve.This situation was caused by two main reasons:the traditional development method can not develop GIS product face to curtain industry, and secondary developments methods are limited by develop tools or professional knowledge of developers.The birth of COMGIS provide a new way for solve this problem.Combine COM technology with MapObjects controls,a test was made in developing professional GIS system for water supply industry.

Abstract:Current WebGIS platform developing techniques,such as CGI,Server API,Plug-ins,ActiveX, Java and so on,have their respective limitations. A new WebGIS system framework based on COM+ technology is presented. Technical foundation and system structure are discussed. Three key problems are put forward and resolved. Finally,an application example is given. It is proved that the solution can make full use of the resource of server, support operations by multiple users simultaneously have high system security and is independent of the platform of client.

Abstract:Used Map Objects software as components,and Visual Basic 6.0 as programming language,to develop tourism resources query system for Luzhi River area of Yimen County,in Yunnna Province.After the system platform was chosen,some correlative data was collected,and then,the system structure was designed,and the database was established;at last,every function model of the system was developed and carried out.Besides the spatial-properties query function,it's main function,the system can apply many other map works,like spatial data visualisation,map renderer,map editing and output,etc.After the system is developed,it can apply scientific evidence for tourism planning of the area,and can provide reference for tourism developer and manager to make strategy.

Abstract:One important advantage of Geographical Information System (GIS) is its spatial analyses. According to researches and applications, the best way to implement the spatial analyses is to use the tool of model. However, many GIS systems lack spatial model base in different degrees, which in a sense constrains the spatial analysis ability of GIS. But different from common models, the spatial models must cope with and operate complex spatial data that bring many specific difficulties. So the development of spatial model is very slow compared with that of GIS applications and the related requirements. Introducing the COM technology, this paper studies the reusable spatial model base that is independent to specific applications. Then, based on the study a model base frame is advanced and its implementation is discussed. Our study shows that introduction of COM technology into GIS spatial model base, not only can enhance the reusability of GIS software, but also can help the realization of GIS spatial analyses. Because of the complexity brought by the spatial data, more issues remain to be further studied.

Abstract:ComGIS,is components of geographic information systems,is composed of a group of GIS components which conform to the technical criterion of COM(Component Object Model) and is based on the platform of component objects and can be applied to all programming languages,furthermore various computers.One GIS component can communicate with another through standard communication interfaces. At present, it is a mainstream in GIS technology. Visual C++, is VC for short. It is the heavy weight of programming language by Microsoft corporation with sufficient functions,being object oriented and visual.It is one of the most powerful popular programming languages at present, such as Visual C++, Visual Basic, Delphi, etc. But the research on the development of ComGIS is rarely carried out in VC++ programming language. The paper gives an example of the development of ComGIS in VC++. The map data is from the Shiyanghe river basin which is a typical inland river basin in northwestern China. The fundmental functions of GIS, such as built-in of GIS components, zoom, pan and refreshing of a map and so on have been discussed. The research in the paper gives scientific and referenced bases for the development of ComGIS based on VC++.

Abstract:The MapObject is a set of graphics software, it can make the procedure member added the map to the application procedure.Using MapObjects can vividly establish map interface in keeping with customer. Abstract:In component-based WebGIS, map visualization objects are cornerstones in developing applications. From constructing user interfaces, displaying maps and human-computer interactions to displaying query results and making subject maps, almost all developing work is based on map visualization objects. In this paper, a component-based WebGIS system Geo-Union is introduced, which is built by COM/DCOM technology and can run in Internet/WWW environment. After briefly describing the architecture and the functional partition of Geo-Union, the design and implementation of map visualization objects are described and discussed in details. Map visualization objects in Geo-Union include a map visualization control and three programming objects (map object, display layer object and dynamic layer object). Map visualization control is in charge of displaying map, interacting with users and coordinating other components. The three programming objects are used to manage map data and its display properties. At last, a sample in Visual Basic environment is given to illustrate the use of Geo-Union components and its map visualization objects.

Abstract:In this paper,the design,function and characteristics of the groundwater resource information system based on the COMGIS is analyzed.The system is independent of any commercial GIS platform and integrates seamlessly the GIS function and professional knowledge.The system provides rationally evaluation of groundwater resources and decision-making using the GIS spatial analysis function.The system is efficient in practical tests.

Abstract:The ability with distributed computing is a main characteristic for new WebGIS platform. An organizing strategy of distributed WebGIS (DWebGIS) based on environment of server group and its implementation are presented. Then the distributed architecture of DWebGIS and engine of map services for COM+ were analyzed in detail. A distributed solution and process methods about DWebGIS are discussed, in which network load balancing (NLB) of server group, hidden marks of no-status objects, just-in-time (JIT) activation and object pooling are the key technique. Also, process of image based map-entities-objects in Client/Server, three factors (The alone filename are created by SessionID?server systematic time and random number), cycle of system request/response are expatiated on. Lastly, the correctness and feasibility for design of WebGIS system platform based on COM+ technique are proved by an example in Zhejiang Provincial Digital Drainage Area Planning System. Our further RD work is in progress.

Abstract:The development and some existing problems of CoGIS were discussed. By analyzing the process of coordinated map-editing, a CoGIS cooperative work model was put forward based on work groups and oriented collaborative feature spatial data mode (OCFSDM). The structure of CoGIS model and OCFSDM were discussed and analyzed. Finally, the flow of cooperative map-editing was discussed based on CORBA and database technology. The prototype test system was developed. From the result, the conclusion indicates that the test system has reached the aim of the design.
