Abstract:The method of dynamic design for mechanical structure based on the virtual environment is studied in the paper. The dynamic design and capability analysis for the structure can be carried out in the virtual environment, and the weakness of design can be found in time. The test of costing mechanical product can be lowered, the level for mechanical design as a whole and the market competition can be strengthened in the long run.

Abstract:The research background and significance of structure dynamic optimization are described briefly. According to the authors' research practice, a series of recent progresses on structural dynamic design is introduced as follows: the design method with the mean square response as the constraint under random excitation, structural dynamic shape optimization, structural dynamic topology optimization, the property of the constraints and the existence of the optimal solution, the integrated optimization of structure and control. A prospect for the future development is presented briefly too.

Abstract:The principal diagram of hydraulic system of engineering machinery is only to describe the hydraulic system motionlessly, can' t elaborate many important things such as the motion direction of the oil, the change of the oil pressure, the motion sequence and function mechanism of hydraulic components. Aimed at those problems, the article provides a new method for dynamic simulation of hydraulic system by means of such softwares as Autocad, 3DSMAX, UG and Authorware. This method can describe a hydraulic system of engi- neering machinery visually, demonstrate design ideas, and be used to obviate the malfunction of a hydraulic system.

Abstract:An approach for automating the conceptual design of mechanical systems for dynamic design specifications is presented. A conceptual modeling framework is developed to represent product information in terms of function, behavior and structure. The dynamic behavior is modeled using the language of bond graph. Based on the modeling framework, an intelligent scheme trees-based solving strategy is proposed. The structure can be reasoned out automatically from the desired dynamic design specifications. A knowledge-based prototype system is also developed and a design case is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach.

Abstract:According to the requirement of request of the design,research and application processes of the parallel machine tools(PMTs),the logic structure of the application layer of virtual product design system for parallel machine tools was designed by means of software engineering.It consists of three subsystems: mechanism design,design of entire equipment,operation process simulation. This system can provide a powerful and useful digital integrated environment for PMTs' design,demonstration, optimization and NC programs test to the designers, researchers and users.

Abstract:Parallel machine tool enjoys many advantages over its conventional counterparts. These advantages include high rigidity and accuracy, desirable force/weight ratio and easy way to implement modularization. Based on parallel machine tools with 6 THS architecture, a design theory and method were researched. After the original configuration of parallel machine tools was defined and its local dexterity loci model was formulated, the optimal architecture about kinematics design was put forward. According to the analysis results, an approach that could satisfy the requirement of motion platform realizing gesture capability and local dexterity was proposed to implement the dimensional synthesis. The test results prove the approach could be used to the real engineering design and calculation.

Abstract:Dynamic modeling of parallel mechanism is the precondition for its motion control with high speed and high precision. Four dynamic modeling methods were analyzed, which are Newton-Euler formulation, Lagrangian formulation, Lagrange-D' Alembert principle and differential geometry theory. Several control strategies such as kinematics and dynamic control, performance control and control with redundant actuation were described. Some key problems associated with the control of the PM, which are dynamic modeling, parameter estimation, adaptive control and multi-target optimum control, were concluded.

Abstract:The mechanical optimization design is a very important modern design method,can find out the best way from all designs and increases the efficiency and quality of design.The mechanical optimization design is a difficult problem due to the complex structure of modern equipment.Developing new optimization design approaches by using new theories is an important work of the mechanical optimization design domain.Based on a lot of documents and references,the concept,purpose,and necessity of the mechanical optimization design were expatiated in this paper,the features of the mechanical optimization design were summarized,theory,approach and present situations of modern mechanical optimization design have been discussed from the two aspects of setting up mathematical models and solving algorithm,and several scientific questions that should be furthermore studied in the modern mechanical optimization design domain were put forward.

Abstract:To realize remote collaboration effectively and repidly, improve the performance of design, a prototype was presented for the virtual design of mechanical performance (VDMP). The VDMP characteristics were analyzed theoretically. Relevant techniques and theoretical questions were then discussed. Finally a remote collaborative design system (C Design) was introduced that is able to perform collaborative design at different sites, and can be used to enrich the function of VDMP.

Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering in China

Abstract:Conceptual design is the most critical and creative phase of design. Recently, increasing attention has been directed to supporting conceptual-level computer aided creative design and its theories and methodologies. Specifically, for conceptual design of mechanical products, this paper presents a novel function solving model for mechanical product design and highlights the importance of systematic synthesis to achieve creative design. Then it builds a framework as a function-effect-process-action-mechanisms (FEPAM) mapping process, which enables creative design on the basis of conceiving different action schemes. After that, several key points are elaborated including 1) representing and decomposition methods of functions and motion behaviors; 2) action scheme representing method based on network plan techniques; and 3) variation and creation methods based on action scheme transformations.

Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems

Abstract:This research presents the mathematical modelling of kinematic and complete dynamic analysis of a novel over-constrained parallel mechanism, which consists of two universal-prismatic-revolute joint limbs and one revolute-revolute-universal joint limb. The kinematic model is constructed based on the closed-loop vector method and the velocity Jacobian matrix is deduced, velocity-mapping relationships between all moving components and moving platform are also performed. Afterwards, inertia and applied forces are analysed, the complete dynamic equations with the classical Stribeck friction model of the proposed structure is established based on the principle of virtual work. A theoretical numerical example is given to solve kinematics and dynamics solutions, and theoretical forces from developed dynamic formulation are verified by the physic model simulation in Simscape and the rigid-flexible coupling model simulation in Adams. A good agreement between the theoretical results and multi-body software simulation is found.

Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems

Abstract:To deal with features of complex product development, the method of concurrent and collaborative design was presented. Firstly, the framework of concurrent and collaborative design based on system theory was established. Within this framework, product design included time dimension concurrence and space dimension collaboration. Secondly, the expression of concurrent and collaborative model based on constraint network was studied. A general consistency check algorithm was put forward to define the parameter intervals. The method of multidiscipli-nary design optimization was proposed to obtain optimized solution. Finally, a design example was analyzed to show effectiveness of this proposed method.

Abstract:On the basic of analyzing of the structure character and composing of large mechanical equipment and the question which arises during the three dimension design software used in enterprise,we present a code method for large mechanical equipment and the way to realize the products' rapid design with three dimension parametric design technique,temples technique,the linkage of model with its drawing and auto pick-up of the products' BOM.We design a rapid design system for large mechanical equipment and the application show that it can reduces the designer's work loads,decreases the design periods and increases the ability of the enterprises response to the market.
