Abstract:In this paper, the improvement about the generalized Kolmogorov-type three series theorem, in the case of NQD random variables, is obtained by different method. Furthermore, the generalized Kolmogorov-type three series theorem is simplified. From the simplified theorem, related results in Wu (Acta. Math. Sinica. 45(3), 617-624, 2002) and some main results in Shi (Acta. Math. Appl. Sin., 34(1), 122-130, 2011) and Li et al. (J. Math. Anal. Appl., 344, 741-747, 2008) are also discussed or improved in the article.

Abstract:Based on the properties of a coefficient guideline function of generalized Jamison's weighted sums, the strong convergence properties are discussed of generalized Jamison weighted sums for pairwise NQD sequences. Some rusults about them for NA sequences are extended to the case of pairwise NQD sequences.The conditions of those previous conclusions are weakened.And the last examples are given to show that the conclusions are better than that.

Abstract:This note develops Rio's proof [C. R. Math. Acad. Sci. Paris, 1995] of the rate of convergence in the Marcinkiewicz--Zygmund strong law of large numbers to the case of sums of dependent random variables with regularly varying normalizing constants. It allows us to obtain a complete convergence result for dependent sequences under uniformly bounded moment conditions. This result is new even when the underlying random variables are independent. The main theorems are applied to three different dependence structures: (i) $m$-pairwise negatively dependent random variables, (ii) $m$-extended negatively dependent random variables, and (iii) $\varphi$-mixing sequences. To our best knowledge, the results for cases (i) and (ii) are the first results in the literature on complete convergence for sequences of $m$-pairwise negatively dependent random variables and $m$-extended negatively dependent random variables under the optimal moment conditions even when $m=1$. While the results for cases (i) and (iii) unify and improve many existing ones, the result for case (ii) complements the main result of Chen et al. [J. Appl. Probab., 2010]. Affirmative answers to open questions raised by Chen et al. [J. Math. Anal. Appl., 2014] and Wu and Rosalsky [Glas. Mat. Ser. III, 2015] are also given. An example illustrating the sharpness of the main result is presented.

Abstract:In this paper, a notion of negative side ϱ-mixing (ϱ −-mixing) which can be regarded as asymptotic negative association is defined, and some Rosenthal type inequalities for ϱ −-mixing random fields are established. The complete convergence and almost sure summability on the convergence rates with respect to the strong law of large numbers are also discussed for ϱ −-mixing random fields. The results obtained extend those for negatively associated sequences and ϱ * random fields.

Abstract:Let {Xn;n ≥ 1} be a sequence of independent random variables on a probability space (Ω,F,P) and $${S_n} = \sum\nolimits_{k = 1}^n {{X_k}} $$. It is well-known that the almost sure convergence, the convergence in probability and the convergence in distribution of Sn are equivalent. In this paper, we prove similar results for the independent random variables under the sub-linear expectations, and give a group of sufficient and necessary conditions for these convergence. For proving the results, the Levy and Kolmogorov maximal inequalities for independent random variables under the sub-linear expectation are established. As an application of the maximal inequalities, the sufficient and necessary conditions for the central limit theorem of independent and identically distributed random variables are also obtained.

Abstract:We present several new phenomena about almost sure convergence on homogeneous chaoses that include Gaussian Wiener chaos and homogeneous sums in independent random variables. Concretely, we establish the fact that almost sure convergence on a fixed finite sum of chaoses forces the almost sure convergence of each chaotic component. Our strategy uses "{\it extra randomness}" and a simple conditioning argument. These ideas are close to the spirit of \emph{Stein's method of exchangeable pairs}. Some natural questions are left open in this note.

Abstract:In this paper, we study q -statistical convergence for double sequences. The definitions of q -analog of statistical Cauchy and statistical pre-Cauchy for double sequences are given. The necessary and sufficient condition for a double sequence to have different statistical limits is also obtained. We show that a q -statistical convergent sequence is q -statistical Cauchy and vice-versa.
