Abstract:The traditional model predictive control need long sample time for its long computer time. In this paper,single-value model predictive control for over-damp system was presented and applied to control slurry density system. The algorithm is simple and can get good control performance.

Abstract:A multivariable predictive functional control algorithm is presented,which is a branch of model predictive techniques family.It is deduced with the theory of predictive functional control and Smith predictor,and is the extension of single variable predictive functional control.A computer simulation case study for the control of Shell Oil's heavy oil fractionator is presented.The result displays that the presented multivariable predictive functional control algorithm is of better control performance than the single variable predictive functional control in the multivariable first order plus dead time system.

Abstract:Wastewater treatment is a complex biochemical reaction with strong nonlinearity,coupling and uncertainty.In this paper,a fuzzy adaptive generalized predictive control(GPC) is proposed for wastewater treatment benchmark based on the activated sludge model No.1(ASM1).The predictive model (is obtained) by using fuzzy adaptive identification,which can improve the accuracy of the model.The(results) of simulation demonstrate that the proposed control strategy can effectively ensure effluent water quality.

Abstract:A multi-variable model predictive control strategy to achieve the goal of automatic variable-loading for the control limits in the variable-loading process of air separation unit was proposed.Regard model predictive controller(MPC) as the core,the problems of coupling in the various technological parameters were solved.Moreover,the nonlinear control request for global variable-loading process was satisfied,and the perfect operation character and rate were ensured.The technology structure,technological control schemes and system implementation process for the control strategy were described in detail.Applied to the air separation unit in a steel corporation,the multi-variable control system shows effectiveness and efficiency in the automatic variable-loading.

Abstract:Traditional model predictive control is a one-degree-of-freedom controller,so good dynamic response performance of both set-point tracking and disturbance rejection characteristics can't be achieved simultaneously.An improved model predictive control algorithm based on multi-degree-of-freedom performance index is proposed for the industrial plant to achieve good dynamic response performance of set-point tracking and disturbance rejection and model mismatch.The simulated results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the designed controller.

Abstract:Batch chemical reactors are good candidates for the applicationof advanced process control because they involve kinetic parameters that are highly uncertain and slowly time varying. In this paper, an advanced methodology combining the predictive functional control (PFC) and PID control is proposed. The control strategy composed of four methods has been designed for temperature tracking control of batch chemical reactors. On the basis of SUPCON JX-300 distributed control system, a software package for batch reactor temperature tracking advanced control has been developed. The industrial application of the software package has achieved good results.

Abstract:An advanced control strategy as the combination of predictive functional control and PID control is studied. With an industrial application background of temperature control in chemical reactor, predictive functional controller and transparent control scheme are designed. Simulation results show that the transparent control system obtains good tracking control performance, enough disturbance rejection and good robustness. At the same time, the advanced control strategy has been implemented in the SUPCON JX-300 distributed control systems and has provided good results.

Abstract::In PTA process, TA slurry density is one of the most important technical index and can influence PTA's output and quality. In this paper, the property of slurry density is analyzed. Then, advanced control, nolinear compensation + model predictive control, is presented. The application showed this method can reduce the variety of slurry density and increase the plant capability.

Abstract:Multi-model predictive control (MMPC) is an effective method to solve the control problem of strong nonlinear system. The well known problems in multi-model control strategy are the poor transient response and the frequent switching between different models. In this paper, a new switching scheme based on fuzzy zone is proposed for multi-model predictive control using clustering modeling to improve the transient response and weaken the oscillatory of the plant output. The improved MMPC strategy is applied in pH neutralization process and the simulation results demonstrate its validity.

Abstract:Key technology of steady-state optimization and dynamic control in MPC(Model Predictive Control) engineering software are proposed, based on our self-development MPC software—Frontapc. The priority strategy to handle multi-objective optimization applied in steady-state optimization and the method to achieving the unique optimization steady state are proposed. Zone control strategy cooperated with funnel constrains is presented for the purpose to improve the robust control quality. The efficiency of this MPC software is illustrated by the successful application in distillation control system of acetaldehyde production process.

Abstract:Aiming at the present water factory control system, this paper analyses some influence factors affecting alum quantity of water treated control system, and discusses the design method of adding alum control system. An automatic control policy of adding alum control system is proposed, which is based on multi-model switching predictive control algorithm. Using performance measures derived from the resultant prediction errors, a decision rule is to be designed to select a sub-model at each sampling time. System simulation results show that the control algorithm track target value better than general control.

Abstract:The Paper presents a scheme of the solid content control of a black - liquor evaporation. The scheme which results in better linearity and stability of plant model is different from conventional practice in that we use the flow rate of input black - liquor to regulate the concentration of final product. To overcome the severe time delay and sluggish response of the plant, a predictive control algorithm based on the mix of feedforward and feedback is introduced. The control system proves to be satisfactory in accuracy and stability.

Abstract:A SVM with linear kernel based single-step predictive model and algorithm are developed after simple discussion of model predictive control. A predictive model is established by non-linear system identification with SVM. And an explicit control law is gotten through the predictive control mechanism. Simulation results show that SVM based predictive control can be applied for non-linear system. And the SVM based single-step predictive of non-linear system has good performance in keeping reference trace and interference-free.

Abstract:In this paper, the model predictive control law for sampled-data systems is presented. Compared to the standard model predictive controller, the new controller considers the intersampling behavior of the continuous system. First we convert the hybrid optimization problem to an equivalent discrete-time one and solve it using dynamic programming. Then we show that the controller is stabilizing.

Abstract:Both Fuzzy Logic Control (FLC) and Model Predictive Control (MPC) are popular strategies today. They have their own advantages and disadvantages. A new Fuzzy Predictive Control (FPC) strategy is introduced in this paper. It is based on the normal fuzzy logic controller and using step response model to predict the future output. Because of using the fuzzy objective function the manipulate variable can be calculated in different accuracy according to the current error. The simulation results show this control strategy has a good performance on the green liquor density control system of the recovery system in a pulp factory.

Abstract:This paper presents a practical predictive control algorithm for the heating furnaces. Through establishing heating furnace model, online computing model parameters and the softness factor, this algorithm achieves no overshoot control. Based on industry experience and under the premise of ensuring ultimate control effect, this algorithm optimizes properly for the calculation process, avoids the matrix operation, and reduces the double counting steps so that the program code is much simpler and operational speed is faster, which can be implemented in embedded system. The experimental results show that the temperature controller which adopts this predictive control algorithm is better than the PID controller for its excellent setting value tracking performance and no obvious overshoot. © 2010 Binary Information Press.

Abstract:Multi-kernel-based support vector machine (SVM) model structure of nonlinear systems and its specific identification method is proposed, which is composed of a SVM with linear kernel function followed in series by a SVM with spline kernel function. With the help of this model, nonlinear model predictive control can be transformed to linear model predictive control, and consequently a unified analytical solution of optimal input of multi-step-ahead predictive control is possible to derive. This algorithm does not require online iterative optimization in order to be suitable for real-time control with less calculation. The simulation results of pH neutralization process and CSTR reactor show the effectiveness and advantages of the presented algorithm.

Abstract:A fuzzy model-based on predictive control algorithm for solving nonlinear control problems is proposed. The fuzzy model is used as a multistep predictor of the nonlinear dynamics of the multivariable system, and a nonlinear optimization approach is used to obtain the optimum control law. The proposed algorithm has been applied to CSTR in simulations, and the effectiveness of the algorithm has been shown.

Abstract:An online support vector machine with polynomial kernel function is combined with a one-step-ahead model predictive controller to construct an adaptive NMPC controller. The online SVM regression algorithm can automatically update the model of controlled object, which helps the MPC controller control the object well even when the model of the object varies with time. The effectiveness of the new controller is demonstrated on a benchmark problem and a continuous-stirred tank reactor. Simulation results show that the new controller can be applied to nonlinear system with good performance.

Abstract:A multi-variable predictive control system of steam dryness for steam-injection boiler is presented,based on the investigation of current control systems and the analysis about the characteristics and influencing factors for steam dryness. When there is a variance of the steam dryness, the control system eliminates the variance quickly by the coordination control of fuel and feedwater, and makes the feedwater recover to the setpoint smoothly so as to maintain the given load of the boiler. The simulation results show that the presented multi-variable predictive control system has good control performance and simple algorithm for easy realization.
