Abstract:This paper consists of a package of real and complex affine techniques for the Abreu equation on toric surfaces/manifolds. In particular, as an application of this package we give an interior estimate for the Ricci tensor of toric surfaces.

Abstract:The authors consider the problem of conformally deforming a metric such that the k-curvature defined by an elementary symmetric function of the eigenvalues of the Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor on a compact manifold with boundary to a prescribed function. A consequence of our main result is that there exists a complete metric such that the Monge-Ampère type equation with respect to its Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor is solvable, provided that the initial Bakry-Emery Ricci tensor belongs to a negative convex cone.

Abstract:We study the problem of finding complete conformal metrics determined by some symmetric function of the modified Schouten tensor on compact manifolds with boundary; which reduces to a Dirichlet problem. We prove the existence of the solution under some suitable conditions. In particular, we prove that every smooth compact n-dimensional manifold with boundary, with n >= 3, admits a complete Riemannian metric g whose Ricci curvature Ric(g) and scalar curvature R-g satisfydet(Ric(g) - R(g)g) = const.This result generalizes Aviles and McOwen's in the scalar curvature case.

Abstract:We derive interior curvature bounds for admissible solutions of a class of curvature equations subject to affine Dirichlet data, generalizing a well-known estimate of Pogorelov for equations of Monge-Ampere type. For equations for which convexity of the solution is the natural ellipticity assumption, the curvature bound is proved for solutions with C-1,C-1 Dirichlet data. We also use the curvature bounds to improve and extend various existence results for the Dirichlet and Plateau problems.

Abstract:The conformai properties of complex Finsler metrics are studied. We first give a characterization of a compact complex Finsler manifold to be globally conformai Kahler. By considering the total holomorphic curvature and total Ricci curvature in the volume preserved conformal classes, we then study the variational properties of Kahler Finsler metrics. By studying the spectral properties of two average metrics, the stabilities of critical Kähler Finsler metrics are verified. Finally, a Yamabe type problem for mean holomorphic Ricci curvature is considered, and a partial existence result is obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the interior regularity of minimizers of Donaldson's version of K-energy associated to Calabi's extremal metrics on toric surfaces. A new idea is to use solutions to the first boundary value problem of Abreu's equation to approximate a minimizer of K-energy. By the regularity, we also prove the uniqueness of minimizers in dimension 2.

Abstract:In this paper we study the existence of extremal metrics on toric Kähler surfaces. We show that on every toric Kähler surface, there exists a Kähler class in which the surface admits an extremal metric of Calabi. We found a toric Kähler surface of 9 TC2-fixed points which admits an unstable Kähler class and there is no extremal metric of Calabi in it. Moreover, we prove a characterization of the K-stability of toric surfaces by simple piecewise linear functions. As an application, we show that among all toric Kähler surfaces with 5 or 6 TC2-fixed points, CP2#3CP¯2 is the only one which allows vanishing Futaki invariant and admits extremal metrics of constant scalar curvature.

Abstract:We study the existence extremal metrics and K-stability on toric manifolds. We extend Donaldsons notion of stability related to constant scalar metrics on toric manifolds to the case of general extremal metrics. Based on this reduction, we show that the existence of extremal metrics on toric manifolds implies the relative K-stability for toric degenerations. A sufficient condition for K-stability is established whether or not there exists extremal metrics. On toric surfaces, we prove that every toric surfaces admits Kahler classes which contain extremal metrics by Arrezo-Pacard-Singers work. In the meanwhile, many counter-examples of unstable Kahler classes are given. Finally, we discuss the existence of weak solutions in general dimensions under the assumption that the modified K-energy is proper.

Abstract:We extend the Abreu-Guillemin theory of invariant Kähler metrics from toric symplectic manifolds to any symplectic manifold admitting a toric action of a symplectic torus bundle. We show that these are precisely the symplectic manifolds admitting a Lagrangian fibration with elliptic singularities. The base of such a toric Lagrangian fibration is a codimension 0 submanifold with corners of an integral affine manifold, called a Delzant subspace. This concept generalizes the Delzant polytope associated with a compact symplectic toric manifold. Given a Delzant subspace of finite type, we provide a Delzant-type construction of a Lagrangian fibration with the moment image being the specified Delzant subspace. We establish a 1:1 correspondence between invariant Kähler metrics and a pair consisting of an elliptic connection on the total space of the fibration and a hybrid $b$-metric on the base Delzant subspace, both with specified residues over the facets. Finally, we characterize extremal invariant Kähler metrics as those whose scalar curvature descends to an affine function on the base integral affine manifold. We show that this provides a method for finding and constructing extremal Kähler metrics.

Hermitian, Ricci-flat toric metrics on non-compact surfaces à la Biquard-Gauduchon

Abstract:Biquard-Gauduchon have shown that conformally Kähler, Ricci-flat, ALF toric metrics on the complement of toric divisors are: the Taub-NUT metric with reversed orientation, in the Kerr-Taub-bolt family or in the Chen-Teo family. The same authors have also given a unified construction for the above families relying on an axi-symmetric harmonic function on $\mathbb{R}^3$. In this work, we reverse this construction and use methods from a paper of the second named author, "Uniqueness among scalar-flat Kähler metrics on non-compact toric 4-manifolds", to show that all conformally Kähler, Ricci-flat, toric metrics on the complement of toric divisors, under some mild assumptions on the associated moment polytope, are among the families above. In particular all such metrics are ALF.

Abstract:In this paper we introduce the interpolation-degneration strategy to study Kahler-Einstein metrics on a smooth Fano manifold with cone singularities along a smooth divisor that is proportional to the anti-canonical divisor. By interpolation we show the angles in (0,2�) that admit a conical Kahler-Einstein metric form an interval; and by degeneration we figure out the boundary of the interval. As a first application, we show that there exists a Kahler-Einstein metric on P 2 with cone singularity along a smooth conic (degree 2) curve if and only if the angle is in (�/2,2�). When the an- gle is 2�/3 this proves the existence of a Sasaki-Einstein metric on the link of a three dimensional A2 singularity, and thus answers a problem posed by Gauntlett-Martelli- Sparks-Yau. As a second application we prove a version of Donaldson's conjecture about conical Kahler-Einstein metrics in the toric case using Song-Wang's recent existence result of toric invariant conical Kahler-Einstein metrics.

Abstract:We extend a recent result of Burns, Guillemin and Uribe on the asymptotics of the spectral measure for the reduction metric on a toric variety to any toric metric on a toric variety. We show how this extended result together with the Tian-Yau-Zelditch asymptotic expansion can be used to deduce Abreu's formula for the scalar curvature of a toric metric on a toric variety in terms of polytope data.

Abstract:In this paper, we study bi-Hermitian metrics on complex surfaces with split holomorphic tangent bundle and construct 2 types of metric cones. We introduce a new type of fully non-linear geometric PDE on such surfaces and establish smooth solutions. As a geometric application, we solve the prescribed Bismut Ricci problem. In various settings, we obtain canonical metrics on 2 important classes of complex surfaces: primary Hopf surfaces and Inoue surfaces of type $\mathcal{S}_{M}$.

Abstract:We pursue the symplectic description of toric Kahler manifolds. There exists a general local classification of metrics on toric Kahler manifolds equipped with Hamiltonian two-forms due to Apostolov, Calderbank and Gauduchon(ACG). We derive the symplectic potential for these metrics. Using a method due to Abreu, we relate the symplectic potential to the canonical potential written by Guillemin. This enables us to recover the moment polytope associated with metrics and we thus obtain global information about the metric. We illustrate these general considerations by focusing on six-dimensional Ricci flat metrics and obtain Ricci flat metrics associated with real cones over L^{pqr} and Y^{pq} manifolds. The metrics associated with cones over Y^{pq} manifolds turn out to be partially resolved with two blowup parameters taking special (non-zero)values. For a fixed Y^{pq} manifold, we find explicit metrics for several inequivalent blow-ups parametrised by a natural number k in the range 0<k<p. We also show that all known examples of resolved metrics such as the resolved conifold and the resolution of C^3/Z_3 also fit the ACG classification.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the study of n -dimensional conformally flat Riemannian manifolds for and its applications in affine differential geometry. First, improving the work of Sekigawa–Takagi (Tohoku Math J 23:1–11, 1971), we have a complete classification for conformally flat Riemannian manifolds with semi-parallel Ricci tensor. Then, as an application, we establish a complete classification of locally strongly convex affine hyperspheres in the -dimensional affine space with conformally flat affine metric and semi-parallel Ricci tensor, which generalizes the previous works of Cheng–Hu–Moruz–Vrancken (Sci China Math 63:2055–2078, 2020) and Hu–Xing (J Math Anal Appl 528:127596, 2023) on affine hyperspheres with parallel Ricci tensor.
