Abstract:Let $(X, P)$ be a toric variety. In this note, we show that the $C^0$-norm of the Calabi flow $\varphi(t)$ on $X$ is uniformly bounded in $[0, T)$ if the Sobolev constant of $\varphi(t)$ is uniformly bounded in $[0, T)$. We also show that if $(X, P)$ is uniform $K$-stable, then the modified Calabi flow converges exponentially fast to an extremal Kähler metric if the Ricci curvature and the Sobolev constant are uniformly bounded. At last, we discuss an extension of our results to a quasi-proper Kähler manifold.

On the Existence and Nonexistence of Extremal Metrics on Toric Kähler Surfaces

Abstract:In this paper we study the existence of extremal metrics on toric Kähler surfaces. We show that on every toric Kähler surface, there exists a Kähler class in which the surface admits an extremal metric of Calabi. We found a toric Kähler surface of 9 TC2-fixed points which admits an unstable Kähler class and there is no extremal metric of Calabi in it. Moreover, we prove a characterization of the K-stability of toric surfaces by simple piecewise linear functions. As an application, we show that among all toric Kähler surfaces with 5 or 6 TC2-fixed points, CP2#3CP¯2 is the only one which allows vanishing Futaki invariant and admits extremal metrics of constant scalar curvature.

Abstract:We prove the longtime existence and convergence of the Calabi flow on toric Fano surfaces in a large family of Kahler classes where the class has positive extremal Hamiltonian potential and the initial Calabi energy is bounded by some constant. This is an extension of our previous work. We use the toric condition in a more essential way to rule out bubbles.

Abstract:We study the existence extremal metrics and K-stability on toric manifolds. We extend Donaldsons notion of stability related to constant scalar metrics on toric manifolds to the case of general extremal metrics. Based on this reduction, we show that the existence of extremal metrics on toric manifolds implies the relative K-stability for toric degenerations. A sufficient condition for K-stability is established whether or not there exists extremal metrics. On toric surfaces, we prove that every toric surfaces admits Kahler classes which contain extremal metrics by Arrezo-Pacard-Singers work. In the meanwhile, many counter-examples of unstable Kahler classes are given. Finally, we discuss the existence of weak solutions in general dimensions under the assumption that the modified K-energy is proper.

Abstract:Let X be a toric surface with Delzant polygon P and u(t) be a solution of the Calabi flow equation on P. Suppose the Calabi flow exists in [0, T). By studying local estimates of the Riemann curvature and the geodesic distance under the Calabi flow, we prove a uniform interior estimate of u(t) for t < T.

Abstract:We prove a splitting formula that reconstructs the logarithmic Gromov- Witten invariants of simple normal crossing varieties from the punctured Gromov- Witten invariants of their irreducible components, under the assumption of the gluing strata being toric varieties. The formula is based on the punctured Gromov-Witten theory developed in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2009.07720" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2009.07720">arXiv:2009.07720</a>.

Abstract:We consider a toric degeneration $\mathcal{X}$ of Calabi--Yau complete intersections of Batyrev--Borisov in the Gross--Siebert program. For the toric degeneration $\mathcal{X}$, we study the real Monge--Ampère equation corresponding to the non-archimedean Monge--Ampère equation that yields the non-archimedean Calabi--Yau metric. Our main theorem describes the real Monge--Ampère equation in terms of tropical geometry and proves the metric SYZ conjecture for the toric degeneration $\mathcal{X}$ supposing the existence of its solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the interior regularity of minimizers of Donaldson's version of K-energy associated to Calabi's extremal metrics on toric surfaces. A new idea is to use solutions to the first boundary value problem of Abreu's equation to approximate a minimizer of K-energy. By the regularity, we also prove the uniqueness of minimizers in dimension 2.
On the Splitting Type of an Equivariant Vector Bundle over a Toric Manifold

Abstract:From the work of Lian, Liu, and Yau on "Mirror Principle", in the explicit computation of the Euler data $Q=\{Q_0, Q_1, ... \}$ for an equivariant concavex bundle ${\cal E}$ over a toric manifold, there are two places the structure of the bundle comes into play: (1) the multiplicative characteric class $Q_0$ of $V$ one starts with, and (2) the splitting type of ${\cal E}$. Equivariant bundles over a toric manifold has been classified by Kaneyama, using data related to the linearization of the toric action on the base toric manifold. In this article, we relate the splitting type of ${\cal E}$ to the classifying data of Kaneyama. From these relations, we compute the splitting type of a couple of nonsplittable equivariant vector bundles over toric manifolds that may be of interest to string theory and mirror symmetry. A code in Mathematica that carries out the computation of some of these examples is attached.
A mirror theorem for non-split toric bundles

Abstract:We construct an I-function for toric bundles obtained as a fiberwise GIT quotient of a (not necessarily split) vector bundle. This is a generalization of Brown's I-function for split toric bundles and the I-function for non-split projective bundles. In order to prove the mirror theorem, we establish a characterization of points on the Givental Lagrangian cones of toric bundles and prove a mirror theorem for the twisted Gromov-Witten theory of a fiber product of projective bundles. The former result generalizes Brown's characterization for split toric bundles to the non-split case.

Abstract: We generalize the splitting theorem of Cai-Galloway for complete Riemannian manifolds with $\Ric\geq-(n-1)$ admitting a family of compact hypersurfaces tending to infinity with mean curvatures tending to $n-1$ sufficiently fast to the setting of smooth metric measure spaces. This result complements and provides a new perspective on the splitting theorems recently proven by Munteanu-Wang and Su-Zhang. We show that the mean curvature assumption in our result is sharp, which also provides an example showing that the assumption $R\geq-(n-1)$ in the Munteanu-Wang splitting theorem for expanding gradient Ricci solitons cannot be relaxed to $R>-n$. We also use our result to study a certain class of conformally compact quasi-Einstein metrics, giving, as generalizations of respective results of Cai-Galloway and Lee, necessary conditions for the boundary to be connected and for the bottom of the spectrum of the weighted Laplacian to be maximal.
Gromov-Hausdorff stability of tori under Ricci and integral scalar curvature bounds

Abstract:We establish a nonlinear analogue of a splitting map into a Euclidean space, as a harmonic map into a flat torus. We prove that the existence of such a map implies Gromov-Hausdorff closeness to a flat torus in any dimension. Furthermore, Gromov-Hausdorff closeness to a flat torus and an integral bound {on $r_M(x)$, the smallest eigenvalue of the Ricci tensor $\text{ric}_x$ in $x$}, imply the existence of a harmonic splitting map. Combining these results with Stern's inequality, we provide a new Gromov-Hausdorff stability theorem for flat $3$-tori. The main tools we employ include the harmonic map heat flow, Ricci flow, and both Ricci limits and RCD theories.

Abstract:We consider the formation of singularities along the Calabi flow by assuming the uniformly bounded Sobolev constants. On Kähler surfaces we prove that if curvature tensor is not uniformly bounded, then one can form a singular model called deepest bubble ; such deepest bubble has to be a scalar flat ALE Kähler metric. In certain Kähler classes on toric Fano surfaces, the Sobolev constants are a priori bounded along the Calabi flow with small Calabi energy. We can also show in certain cases no deepest bubble can form along the flow. It follows that the curvature tensor is uniformly bounded and the flow exists for all time and converges to an extremal metric subsequently. To illustrate our results more clearly, we focus on an example on ℂℙ^2 blown up three points at generic position. Our result also implies existence of constant scalar curvature metrics on ℂℙ^2 blown up three points at generic position in the Kähler classes where the exceptional divisors have the same area.
A splitting theorem for Kahler manifolds whose Ricci tensors have constant eigenvalues

Abstract:It is proved that a compact Kahler manifold whose Ricci tensor has two distinct, constant, non-negative eigenvalues is locally the product of two Kahler-Einstein manifolds. A stronger result is established for the case of Kahler surfaces. Irreducible Kahler manifolds with two distinct, constant eigenvalues of the Ricci tensor are shown to exist in various situations: there are homogeneous examples of any complex dimension n > 1, if one eigenvalue is negative and the other positive or zero, and of any complex dimension n > 2, if the both eigenvalues are negative; there are non-homogeneous examples of complex dimension 2, if one of the eigenvalues is zero. The problem of existence of Kahler metrics whose Ricci tensor has two distinct, constant eigenvalues is related to the celebrated (still open) Goldberg conjecture. Consequently, the irreducible homogeneous examples with negative eigenvalues give rise to complete, Einstein, strictly almost Kahler metrics of any even real dimension greater than 4.

Abstract:We prove the existence and uniqueness of the weak Kähler–Ricci flow on projective varieties with log terminal singularities. We also show that the weak Kähler–Ricci flow can be uniquely continued through divisorial contractions and flips if they exist. Finally we propose an analytic version of the minimal model program with Ricci flow.

Abstract:An irrational toric variety X is an analytic subset of the simplex associated to a finite configuration of real vectors. The positive torus acts on X by translation, and we consider limits of sequences of these translations. Our main result identifies all possible Hausdorff limits of translations of X as toric degenerations using elementary methods and the geometry of the secondary fan of the vector configuration. This generalizes work of Garcia-Puente et al., who used algebraic geometry and work of Kapranov, Sturmfels, and Zelevinsky, when the vectors were integral.
