Abstract:β zeolite with high Si/Al has low rear-earth exchanging capacity so that high rare-earth load rare earth β zeolite is difficult to be prepared by post-treating ways such as impregnating or ion-exchanging.This paper took advantage of low structure stability of 13X zeolite and prepared a high rare-earth load rare earth β zeolite by in-situ method,which was featured by the medium of rare earth exchanged 13X zeolite.The high rare-earth load,good pore texture and high acidity extent its application in catalysis,and exhibited the enhancement of catalysis performance on fluid catalytic cracking process.

Abstract:A novel synthetic route is designed, employing both high temperature and a nontoxic organic structure-directing agent (SDA), for the synthesis of high silica zeolite Y. The N-methylpyridinium used as an organic SDA is stable during the synthesis, and the high silica zeolite Y shows high hydrothermal stability and good catalytic performance, as well as excellent adsorptive properties.

Abstract:Mesoporous high-silica zeolite Y with advantages of improved accessibility of acid sites and mass transport properties is highly desired catalytic materials for oil refinery, fine chemistry and emerging biorefinery. Here, we report the direct synthesis of mesoporous high-silica zeolite Y (named MSY, SiO 2 /Al 2 O 3 ≥ 9.8) and their excellent catalytic cracking performance. The obtained MSY materials are mesoporous single crystals with octahedral morphology, abundant mesoporosity and excellent (hydro)thermal stability. Both the acid concentration and acid strength of H-form MSY are obviously higher than those of commercial ultra-stable Y (USY), which should be attributed to the uniform Al distribution of MSY zeolite. The H-MSY displays an obviously reduced deactivation rate and improved catalytic activity in the cracking reaction of bulky 1,3,5-triisopropylbenzene (TIPB), as compared with its mesoporogen-free counterpart and USY. In addition, H-MSY was investigated as catalyst for the cracking of industrial heavy oil. The MSY-based catalyst (after aging at 800 o C in 100% steam for 17 h) exhibits superior conversion (7.64% increase) and gasoline yield (16.37% increase) than industrial fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst under the investigated conditions. Graphical Mesoporous high-silica zeolite Y with high (hydro)thermal stability has been successfully synthesized, which possesses larger acid concentration and stronger acid strength than USY, and exhibits superior catalytic performance in the cracking of hydrocarbons and industrial heavy oil. Abstract:In this study, we report a new, simple approach to the preparation of high-surface-area zeolitic silica (HZS) with well-defined mesoporosity by combining hydrothermal synthesis and sol-gel processing. N-2 adsorption-desorption measurements show that HZS has a BET surface area of 678-723 m(2) g(-1) and well-defined bimodal pores at 5.5 and 26.0-34.5 Angstrom. XRD, TEM and FT-IR show that HZS has a typical zeolite MFI structure. HZS is thermally stable and has tunable pore size and pore volume, and thus is promising for applications in catalysis, separation, and micro electronics. The described approach also appears general and may be readily extended to zeolitic alumino silicates by using suspensions of other zeolite nanoparticles.

Abstract:High-silica SSZ-13 zeolites were synthesized rapidly and efficiently by interzeolite transformation of low-silica L zeolite at higher temperature in the presence of organic SDAs, additional SiO2 and SSZ-13 seeds. The obtained samples were characterized by XRD, SEM, N2-adsorption, FTIR, TG-DTG, 27Al MAS NMR and NH3-TPD measurements. The effects of temperature and SDA content on the crystallization process were investigated in detail. It was found that the crystallization time can be notably reduced at elevated temperature, and the SDA content in the starting gel can modulate flexibly the crystallization rate, solid yield, crystal size and acidity of samples. Additionally, the role of seed crystals during the interzeolite transformation process was also discussed. As a result, the pure SSZ-13 zeolites with high crystallinity were prepared in only 6h at 180 °C at SDA/SiO2 ratio of 0.2. Intriguingly, the solid yield of the samples under SDA/SiO2 ratio of 0.1–0.15 can reach ∼96%. In addition, the samples exhibited good catalytic performance in methanol-to-olefins reaction.

Abstract:For zeolite catalysts, the regulation of active site and pore structure plays an important role in the enhancement of their catalytic performance. In this work, a one-pot and organic template-free co-regulation route is proposed to straightforwardly synthesize basic mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolites with adjustable alkaline-earth metal species. The synthesis pathway combines two decisive strategies: 1) the seed-induced interface assembly growth method and 2) the acidic co-hydrolysis/condensation of aluminosilicate species and alkaline-earth metal (e.g., Mg, Ca, Sr, or Ba) sources. It is interesting that the mesoporous structure was self-evolved through particle-attached seed-interfacial crystallization without the assistance of any template. Meanwhile, the incorporation of alkaline-earth metals species is homogeneous and highly dispersed in the solid products during the whole crystallization process, and finally generate the superior basicity. Catalysis tests of the as-synthesized samples displayed their novel performance in the typical base reaction of Knoevenagel condensation, even for bulky substrates owing to the enhanced diffusion arising from the meso/microporous network. This finding opens new possibilities for facile, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly synthesis of mesoporous high-silica zeolites with tunable acid/base properties, and deepens our understanding of the particle-attached crystallization.

Abstract:Due to higher thermal and hydrothermal stability, suitable acidity properties, Beta zeolite is considered as promising catalyst for naphtha catalytic cracking process. However, high cost and environmental pollution issue limit its industrial application by using high content of N-containing organic structural directing agent (SDA). In this paper, different SiO2/Al2O3 ratios of Beta zeolites were prepared assisting by seeds induced method with low SDA and cheap industrial silica sol as the silicon source. Physical and chemical properties of as-prepared Beta zeolites were characterized by XRD, N2 adsorption-desorption, NH3-TPD, Py-FTIR and SEM. N-Heptane was used as model compound for catalytic cracking performance evaluation. The results showed that Beta zeolite with high SAR was successfully synthesized, which had well defined crystallinity, proper specific surface area and pore structure, high B/L ratio and strong acid site. n-Heptane catalytic cracking performance showed high yield of low-carbon olefins with relative low activity on hydrogen transfer reaction and coke formation.

Abstract:We hydrothermally synthesized sheet-like crystals of zeolite Y at high temperature (140 degrees C) using methyltriethoxysilane (MTS) as an additivity. Compared with the zeolite Y synthesized at 100 degrees C, the zeolite Y synthesized at high temperature has a high Si/Al ratio, a large crystalline width/thickness ratio and has good adsorption for organic volatile compounds. Characterization by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Si-29 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, elemental analysis and water contact angle measurements suggests that the zeolite Y synthesized at high temperature contains methyl groups, which can be responsible for the improvement in sample hydrophobicity and adsorption capacity.

Abstract:Mesoporous ultra-stable Y zeolite with outstanding performance for heavy oil cracking was prepared through the combination of desilication and dealumination. Atomic removal of silicon atoms from the starting NaY zeolite framework during desilication was reported. Nucleation and propagation of mesopores in the following dealumination process was studied. Si(0Al) and Si(1Al) atoms are selectively removed from zeolite framework by desilication. Consequently, silanol nests and unique hydroxyl nests with framework associated Al-OH were created in the framework of the desilicated zeolite. The artificial defects effect the initiation of mesopores in crystal parts where used to be rich in framework silicon and unfavorable for mesopore formation and promote the propagation and coalescence of mesopores. Catalytic studies revealed improved activity and lifetime in the crack of 1,3,5-triisopropylbenzene and showed increased gasoline and light cycle oil selectivity when the conversion of a heavy oil was compared.

Abstract:ZSM-48 is a kind of high-silica zeolite with one dimensional (1D) 10-member ring (10-MR) channel structure. It is well known for its unique pore structure and acid properties, as well as exceptional catalytic performance in various reactions. However, the diffusion limitation and insufficient acid density pose significant challenges to its widespread application and promotion. This review aims to summarize the advancements in enhancing diffusivity and regulating acid properties of ZSM-48 zeolite, as well as its catalytic applications. To alleviate diffusion limitations, the construction of hierarchical ZSM-48 zeolites through post-treatment and in-situ strategies are extensively summarized. Ongoing endeavors focus on determining the optimal balance between maintaining structural integrity and improving mass transfer capacity through post-treatment techniques. Concerning acid regulation, various strategies such as the use of special organic structure directing agent (OSDA), seed-assisted synthesis, zeolites hybridization, and heteroatom doping strategies have been developed. The emphasis on acid regulation in ZSM-48 zeolite involves efforts to design or discover more cost-effective OSDAs. Additionally, researchers are exploring simpler and more economical seed-assisted synthesis routes to produce Al-rich candidates. In terms of catalytic application, extensive research has been conducted on various reactions including hydroisomerization of paraffin, isomerization of xylenes, cracking of hydrocarbons, and methanol to hydrocarbons have been extensively investigated. Its distinctive catalytic performance is primarily related to the shape-selective advantage conferred by its one dimensional channel structure. In particular, ZSM-48 zeolite is widely regarded as the leading candidate in paraffin hydroisomerization reactions, attributed to its high proportion of multi-branched isomers in the catalytic products. The present review aims to provide a comprehensive reference for researchers dedicated to the synthesis, modification, and application of ZSM-48 zeolite.

Abstract:ZSM-5 zeolite has good hydrothermal stability and is widely used in fields such as hydrocarbon catalytic cracking and nitrogen oxide removal. In this study, a simple crystal seed solution assisted method was developed for the synthesis of ZSM-5 zeolite without template from solid waste. The perlite tailings are not suitable for traditional perlite industrial production due to their small particle size. It was used as the main silicon source and the sole aluminum source to synthesis ZSM-5 zeolite. The effects of synthesis conditions, such as SiO2/Al2O3, Na2O/SiO2 and H2O/SiO2 molar ratios, on the properties of the products were investigated, and the best preparation conditions were optimized. The crystallization mechanism of the crystal seed solution assisted method to synthesis ZSM-5 zeolite from the perlite tailings was explored. In addition, the Cu-ZSM-5 catalyst was prepared by copper ion exchange method, and its performance of selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx was studied. The experimental results showed that the product ZSM-5 zeolite has a high degree of crystallization and typical hexagonal pyramid morphology. The as-synthesized ZSM-5 zeolite had a large specific surface area, and it had both micropores and mesopores. The as-synthesized Cu-ZSM-5 catalyst had a wide denitrification activity window of 230-500 degrees C (denitrification efficiency of more than 90%) and N2 selectivity was over 96% in the temperature range of 100-540 degrees C. The crystal seed solution induced crystallization strategy can be used to prepare zeolites catalysts with high silica-alumina ratio from pearlite waste by one-step method. This method has a good industry application prospect due to simple steps and lower cost.

Abstract:Highly efficient synthesis of zeolites is an important goal given the many catalytic applications of zeolites in industrial chemical processes. The conventional zeolite syntheses, i.e., hydrothermal synthesis in a batch setup are usually challenged by certain limiting factors deriving from the long synthesis period or the low yield. Herein, we report that a combined strategy of organic promoter and zeolite seeding can remarkably improve the synthetic efficiency of high silica SSZ-13 zeolite. The low-cost promoter diethylamine (DEA) and zeolite seeds could both remarkably accelerate the crystallization rate of SSZ-13 zeolite, and DEA has a much higher beneficial effect on the solid yield as compared to the zeolite seeds. Consequently, the crystallization time could be unprecedentedly shorted by a factor of 30, instead of multiple days normally required. Besides, this novel protocol also exhibits high atom efficiency (93% of yield). The resultant high-silica nano-sized SSZ-13 zeolite shows good (hydro)thermal stability along with excellent catalytic performance for the MTO reaction.

Abstract:We demonstrate here a seed-directed synthesis (SDS) of Beta, Levyne, and Heulandite zeolites in the absence of organo-templates, where the seeds drive crystallization of the zeolites. Compared with conventional Beta synthesized in the presence of organic templates, Beta-SDS exhibits large textural parameters, stable Al species, and unprecedentedly high density of active sites, resulting in superior catalytic activity and selectivity for valuable products in catalysis.

Abstract:Cylindrical ZSM-5 was used as a core material, then its surface was pretreated with citric acid, and finally a secondary growth was performed in a system containing fluoride to form core-shell zeolite. The obtained products were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, N-2 adsorption, and NH3-TPD. The performance was investigated by probe reactions of toluene disproportionation and 1,3,5-trimethyl benzene cracking. The results obtained proved the formation of a micro-composite with a ZSM-5 core and a poly nano-silicalite-1 shell. The core ZSM-5 showed a compact shell by intergrowth in a fluoride way. The silicalite-1 shell almost reached 97% coverage with a decreased surface acidity and a preservation of the original channel acidity.

Abstract:Nano-crystallite oriented self-assembled ZSM-5 zeolite (NS-Z5) is successfully synthesized with high yield of 85% by a facile salt-aided seed-induced method within 1.5 h at TPABr (tetrapropylammonium bromide)/SiO2 ratio of 0.1. The systematic and thorough characterizations, involving morphology, textural/structure property, and acidity, indicate that NS-Z5 particle is composed of oriented-assembled high-crystalline zeolite MFI nano-crystallites and possesses abundant accessible strong acid sites due to its large/rough external surface. The strong acidity of NS-Z5 sample results from its high crystallinity and few framework defects benefiting from the introduction of seeds. The catalytic evaluations both in batch and in thermogravimetric reactors demonstrate the important roles of the accessibility and strength of acid sites on low-density polypropylene cracking. This paper provides a facile method for preparation of hierarchical high-crystalline ZSM-5 nano-zeolite and confirms the significance to synchronously maintain large amount and high strength of accessible acid sites on large molecule conversion.
