Abstract:Infilled frame structures are used widely all around the world, how to economically improve the seismic resistance performance of infilled frame structures has vital importance. Previous studies shown that using the sliding friction characteristics of dry-stack infill panel (DSIP) could improve the in-plane seismic resisitance of infilled frame effectively. As the hi-plane mechanical property of DSIP is mainly affected by the lateral deformation of frame, the lateral load capacity of DSIP frame is principally effected by the rigidity of beam-column connections. Base on previous pseudo-static test of DSIP frame, a micro 2-D finite element model was built using ANSYS software. In the FE models, element types Contac172/Targel 69 were used to simulate the frictional behavior of masonry blocks and connection effect between the DSIP and frame, element type Combin39 was used to simulate the rigidity of beam-column connections. In order to study the influence of the rigidity of beam-column connections to the lateral load capacity of infill frame, three different types of beam-column connections were investigated in FE models, one model with full-rigid connection (FR model), and the other two models with semi-rigid connections (SR' model), which were achieved by releasing the rotation capacity of the beam-column connections. The results indicate that under monotonic loading, the lateral load capacity and stress distribution of DSIP frame were greatly affected by the rigidity of beam-column connections, and the contribution propotion of lateral load capacity of DSIP to the whole structure is varied with the rigidity of beam-column connections. The DSIP of SR model reached to a higher lateral load capacity contribution propotion to the whole structure and greater increase of stress intensity than FR model, and the weaker of rigidity of the beam-column connections of the SR model, the greater of the contribution propotion of the lateral load capacity of the DSIP to the whole structure.
