Abstract:Since the 21st century, the study of chiral monophosphorous ligands, especially chiral mono-phosphites ligands and mono-phosphoramidites ligands has attracted widespread attention.This kind of ligands was extensively used in various asymmetric catalytic reactions, for most of them were easily synthesized and showed good stability, high activity and high enantioselectivity.The diverse common monodentate phosphonites, phosphites, and phosphoramidites ligands and their applications in asymmetric hydrogenations over the past two decades are reviewed.

Abstract:Metal-catalyzed asymmetric synthesis is one of the most important methods for the economical and environmentally benign production of useful optically active compounds. The success of the asymmetric transformations is significantly dependent on the structure and electronic properties of the chiral ligands coordinating to the center metals, and hence the development of highly efficient ligands, especially chiral phosphine ligands, has long been an important research subject in this field. This review article describes the synthesis and applications of P-chiral phosphine ligands possessing chiral centers at the phosphorus atoms. Rationally designed P-chiral phosphine ligands are synthesized by the use of phosphine-boranes as the intermediates. Conformationally rigid and electron-rich P-chiral phosphine ligands exhibit excellent enantioselectivity and high catalytic activity in various transition-metal-catalyzed asymmetric reactions. Recent mechanistic studies of rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation are also described.

Abstract:A new family of P-chiral P,π-hybrid ligands was prepared from the dihydrobenzooxaphosphole core. These new ligands were demonstrated to be both sterically and electronically tunable at the substituents on the phosphorus atom and the π-system of the ligand. Application of these new ligands to the catalytic asymmetric addition of boronic acids to imine electrophiles was shown to proceed with high levels of enantioinduction.

Abstract:Over the past decade, the combination of chiral phosphoric acid and palladium catalysis has emerged as a robust strategy to accomplish the regio- and stereoselective functionalization of inactive C-H bonds, enabling access to various types of chirality (central, planar, and axial). This review article describes the origin and advances in the asymmetric functionalization of allylic C-H, C(sp(2))-H, and C(sp(3))-H bonds enabled by chiral phosphoric acid and palladium combined catalysis.
