Abstract:Under special working conditions, a meshed board at the entrance of the feeder was designed and set to quantitatively control the flow of a superfine material with special properties. For a given aperture size and vibration acceleration, the relations between material flow, flow time and vibration frequency were studied by experiments. And the effect of the dynamic characteristics of the electromagnetic switch on the quantitative controlled material flow was analyzed theoretically. Based on the results of experiment and calculation, a design project of automatic feeder that can realize quantitative control of material flow was designed.

Abstract:Magnetorheological(MR) damper is a new smart device utilized in semiactive vibration control,which has less response time,greater damping force and is easy to control.But common MR damper can't be used in cases of high-frequency vibrations because of stiffness hardening,which leads to increase of displacement transmissibility at high frequencies.For this reason a new MR damper with decoupling mechanism is designed by adding decoupling mechanism into the common MR damper.The decoupling mechanism made the damper sensitive to vibration. This means that the damper has different stiffness and damping in case of different amplitude.Based on the Bingham fluid theory,model of present MR damper has been built,and transmissibility expression of the isolation system has been proposed.Dynamic characteristics have been emulated.The results show that the decoupling sheet doesn't work in case of low frequency and large amplitude vibration,and the damper presents high damping.In case of high frequency and small amplitude vibration,the decoupling sheet works and the damper presents small damping and stiffness.As a result,transmissibility at high frequencies decreased.

Abstract:Based on the structure and working principle of DVC Drum, noise and vibration characteristics of mechanical noise, electromagnetic noise and radiated noise of DVC drum was analyzed comprehensively and systematically. FEA was done to DVC drum and four order natural vibration modes were got. Noise resource of DVC drum had been identified and recognized by the method of cepstrum analysis and it was consistent with the experimental result. And specific ways used wavelet analysis to identify noise resource and diagnose fault was got. The method of noise resource identification was expanded and noise resource of DVC drum was identified accurately. Targeted design improvements were done to inner diameter of bottom drum, process of hot extrusion, connect method of tray bracket in high temperature tester, operating method in production line and packing method. Then fraction defective of DVC drum noise was reduced from 2.5% to 0.6%.It had important practical significance to research on vibration and noise reduction of similar products.

Abstract:The vibration absorption is the principle factor which influences the working reliability, operating comfort, noise and parts service life of vibratory roller. This paper made a test on the performance of a new type of single drum vibratory roller with a national brand and found the problem of polarization and shimmy; set up a physical model of the roller for simulation analysis, seeking the reasons of polarization and shimmy, as well as proposing the improvement program so that the performance of Level-I vibration absorption of the sample was improved while each indicator of vibration severity can be above the permissible level.

Abstract:Mixing drum is a key component of cemented sand and gravel mixing equipment. During continuous working process, irregularly strong collision and impact occur inside the drum due to the large and uneven load. It can easily make the welding spot damaged between the existing mixing drum and external roller path, reducing the drum's service life. To increase the strength and service life, this manuscript provides another two types of mixing drum with new structural designs. Through the numerical analysis comparison, the optimal design was picked out. The results show that the stress and strain results of the two new structures are better than those of the existing one. This research provides some theoretical basis and technical support for the optimum structural design of cemented gravel mixing drum, which is valuable for research and application.

Abstract:Tuned particle damper (TPD) has been proposed for improving the damping performance of the traditional particle damper by introducing the dynamic vibration absorption structure. To better design TPD that can be seen as a dynamic vibration absorber (DVA) with particle damping, the change of dynamical characteristic of a DVA system was explored based on a primary cantilever system by introducing stainless steel balls and carbon steel mass block respectively. By a series of sine sweep tests on the primary cantilever system attached with a spring-mass structure, a host of frequency response function (FRF) curves under different conditions were obtained. Experimental results show that the dynamic behavior of the primary cantilever system is more displayed on the resonance peak closer to the mass control area, while the dynamic behavior of the additional spring-mass structure is more displayed on the resonance peak closer to the stiffness control area. Based on the results, the abnormal but desirable dynamical characteristic of TPD presented in the discrete mass experiment is analyzed, which indicates preliminarily the design direction of TPD structure in engineering practice.

An Experimental Study on a Damping System for Strong Impact

Abstract:The mechanical properties of a new-style drumlike-steel-wire-damper and the damping problem for large system in high impact overload were investigated. From the experimental results, It was proved that the new impact damping system could reduce the acceleration responding of structure to less than 1g when the system was impacted by an environmental load of 20~30g in vertical direction, or the system was impacted in horizontal direction by an environmental load of 10~15g. The damping system also has good stability and damping capability for multi-direction impact.

Abstract:The mechanism of noise of brake is very complex. A particle damper can be introduced without changing the shape of the structure and the addition of mass, and it may be applied in extreme temperature environments where most conventional dampers would fail. However, previous particle damper designs have been based on trial-and-error experimentation. In this paper, the feasibility of an application of particle damping in the noise and vibration control of a rotating brake drum of a vehicle is analysed. A coupling simulation algorithm based on the discrete element method and finite element method is used to calculate and design the particle damper in the brake drum. This method makes it possible to investigate the properties of the particle damper in a rotating structure. The research results show that the presented particle damping is effective, and reasonable correlation is demonstrated between simulation and test.

Abstract:Damping materials,especially rubber damping materials,are a kind of special functional materials to absorb vibration and reduce noise.Because they can improve the work environment of human and machine and moreover enhance the design and manufacturing level,damping rubber materials have been widely used in multitudinous fields as high-speed train and light rail,aviation and spaceflight,marine warships,mechanical engineering and national security etc.However,with the speedy progress in social civilization,design and manufacture level,and the high and new technology,the quality requirement to rubber damping materials is becoming higher.It encourages the novel high performance damping rubber materials being competitively researched and exploited.In the article we will comment the latest research progress in damping rubber materials from such aspects as the rubber matrix selections,molecular structure and microstructure design,as well as construction on special damping mechanism etc.

Abstract:In recent years,the machinery of straw processing has developed rapidly in China,but because of many problems still exist in rubber,it can not satisfy the needs of the development of animal husbandry.Therefore,accelerating the development of straw processing equipment,increasing productivity,decreasing energy consumption have become one of the important problems.The paper adds an feeding device basing on the original engine by the analysis of 9R-40 rubber,though the reasonable analysis and determination the structure of the main working parts of rubber,selection and calculation the work parameters,provides the reference for the latter experiment.

Abstract:The optimization of the drum structure is beneficial to improve the particle motion and mixing in rotary drums. In this work, two kinds of drum structures, Lacy cylinder drum (LC) and Lacy-lifters cylinder drum (LLC), are developed on the basic of cylinder drum to enhance the heat transfer area. The particle motion and mixing process are simulated by DEM method. Based on the grid independence and model validation, the contact number between particles and wall, particle velocity profile, thickness of active layer, particle exchange coefficient, particle concentration profile and mixing index are demonstrated. The influences of the drum structure and the operation parameters are further evaluated. The results show that the contact number between particles and wall is improved in LC and LLC compared to cylinder drum. The particle velocity in LC is higher than that in cylinder drum at high rotating speed, and the particle velocity of the particle falling region is significantly improved in LLC. Compared to cylinder drum and LC, the thickness of active layer in LLC is smaller, while the local particle mixing quality is proved to be the best in the active region. In addition, the particle exchange coefficients between static region and active region in the three drums are compared and LLC is found tending to weaken the particle flow. Besides, the fluctuations of particle concentration in the active region, static region, and boundary region are weakened in LLC, and the equilibrium state is reached earlier. In addition, the overall particle mixing performance in cylinder drum, LC and LLC is analyzed. The particle mixing performance in cylinder drum is the worst, while the difference in mixing quality of LC and LLC depends on the operation conditions. Abstract:Based on the test data of air chamber pushrod force-stroke, a computation model a-bout air chamber pushrod force-stroke was established, and calculation formula of actuation deformation characteristics of the drum brake was proposed according to test data. The practical issue of drum brake with oversized overall stroke was resolved by experiments, and it indicates that major effect factors of air chamber overall stroke, which are the drum-shoe clearance, the elastic modulus of lining, the torsion deflection of cam shaft.

Abstract:The nonlinear change characteristics of dampers dependently from particle parameters were analyzed based on the cantilever beam with filling particles.And,the influence of changing parameters of particles and structures on the damping effect was also studied systematically.The results show: particle damper enables the damping ratio to reach up to 492%;the damping effect improves with the growing density of particles;the best damping ratio occur at the filling ratio of 70%;the particle damping effect is improved when particles are embedded into holes with higher amplitude of vibration.

Abstract:At present, the variable friction damped bogie is widely used in railway freight transportation. Although it has good running performance and high warp stiffness, the bogie structure is complex, and the manufacturing and maintenance cost is high. In this study, a new variable friction wedge damper is proposed. Its structure is simple, and it can provide good warp stiffness. The bogie with the improved damping device has the characteristics of a variable and constant friction damped bogie. The relative friction coefficient of vibration damping performance is analysed and tested. Finally, the influence of wedge width on vehicle dynamic performance, including warp stiffness, critical velocity, line, and curve passing performance of the improved bogie are analysed.

Abstract:The research on the dynamic strain of drum brakes is of great significance in performance evaluation, structure optimization and fatigue prediction. Based on current research of strain experiments and measuring technology, a new test procedure is proposed to investigate strain and temperature information of a working drum. Wireless data acquisition system and high-temperature strain gauges are applied. The strain-time and temperature-time curves are studied on the conditions of emergency brake and continuous brake. A tribological and thermo-mechanical analysis are conducted by using software ABAQUS. Results show that the strain is uneven when the drum contacts different zones of friction plates. Seasonal variation is another feature and a set of four wave crests repeats during the rotation. Meanwhile, thermal effect is proved important to strain. The simulation results coincide well with experiments, proving that this method provides a practical way to verify the calculation. The study also lays the foundation for the following fatigue analysis and optimization design.
