Abstract:Lowest weight representations of the ${\mathbb Z}_2 \otimes {\mathbb Z}_2$ graded superalgebra introduced by Rittenberg and Wyler are investigated. We give a explicit construction of Verma modules over the ${\mathbb Z}_2 \otimes {\mathbb Z}_2$ graded superalgebra and show their reducibility by using singular vectors. The explicit formula of singular vectors are given and are used to derive partial differential equations invariant under the color supergroup generated by the ${\mathbb Z}_2 \otimes {\mathbb Z}_2$ graded superalgebra.

Abstract:In this paper, an explicit determinant formula is given for the Verma modules over the Lie algebra W(2, 2). We construct a natural realization of certain vaccum module for the algebra W(2, 2) via theWeyl vertex algebra. We also describe several results including the irreducibility, characters and the descending filtrations of submodules for the Verma module over the algebra W(2, 2).

Abstract:Using explicit expressions for a class of singular vectors of the $N=2$ (untwisted) algebra and following the approach of Malikov-Feigin-Fuchs and Kent, we show that the analytically extended Verma modules contain two linearly independent neutral singular vectors at the same grade. We construct this two dimensional space and we identify the singular vectors of the original Verma modules. We show that in some Verma modules these expressions lead to two linearly independent singular vectors which are at the same grade and have the same charge.

Abstract:Imaginary Verma modules, parabolic imaginary Verma modules, and Verma modules at level zero for double affine Lie algebras are constructed using three different triangular decompositions. Their relations are investigated, and several results are generalized from the affine Lie algebras. In particular, imaginary highest weight modules, integrable modules, and irreducibility criterion are also studied.

Bidirectional Heuristic Search Reconsidered

Abstract:The assessment of bidirectional heuristic search has been incorrect since it was first published more than a quarter of a century ago. For quite a long time, this search strategy did not achieve the expected results, and there was a major misunderstanding about the reasons behind it. Although there is still wide-spread belief that bidirectional heuristic search is afflicted by the problem of search frontiers passing each other, we demonstrate that this conjecture is wrong. Based on this finding, we present both a new generic approach to bidirectional heuristic search and a new approach to dynamically improving heuristic values that is feasible in bidirectional search only. These approaches are put into perspective with both the traditional and more recently proposed approaches in order to facilitate a better overall understanding. Empirical results of experiments with our new approaches show that bidirectional heuristic search can be performed very efficiently and also with limited memory. These results suggest that bidirectional heuristic search appears to be better for solving certain difficult problems than corresponding unidirectional search. This provides some evidence for the usefulness of a search strategy that was long neglected. In summary, we show that bidirectional heuristic search is viable and consequently propose that it be reconsidered.

Abstract:Highest weight modules of the double affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}}_{2}$ are studied under a new triangular decomposition. Singular vectors of Verma modules are determined using a similar condition with horizontal affine Lie subalgebras, and highest weight modules are described under the condition that $c_1>0$ and $c_2=0$.

Abstract:In this paper, we study representations of non-finitely graded Lie algebras $\mathcal{W}(\epsilon)$ related to Virasoro algebra, where $\epsilon = \pm 1$. Precisely speaking, we completely classify the free $\mathcal{U}(\mathfrak h)$-modules of rank one over $\mathcal{W}(\epsilon)$,and find that these module structures are rather different from those of other graded Lie algebras. We also determine the simplicity and isomorphism classes of these modules.

Abstract:We give general expressions for singular vectors of the N=2 superconformal algebra in the form of {\it monomials} in the continued operators by which the universal enveloping algebra of N=2 is extended. We then show how the algebraic relations satisfied by the continued operators can be used to transform the monomials into the standard Verma-module expressions. Our construction is based on continuing the extremal diagrams of N=2 Verma modules to the states satisfying the twisted \hw{} conditions with complex twists. It allows us to establish recursion relations between singular vectors of different series and at different levels. Thus, the N=2 singular vectors can be generated from a smaller set of the so-called topological singular vectors, which are distinguished by being in a 1:1 correspondence with singular vectors in affine sl(2) Verma modules. The method of `continued products' of fermions is a counterpart of the method of complex powers used in the constructions of singular vectors for affine Lie algebras.

Abstract:In this paper we first prove that the maximal ideal of the universal affine vertex operator algebra $V^k(sl_n)$ for $k=-n+\frac{n-1}{q}$ is generated by two singular vectors of conformal weight $3q$ if $n=3$, and by one singular vector of conformal weight $2q$ if $n\geq 4$. We next determine the associated varieties of the simple vertex operator algebras $L_k(sl_3)$ for all the non-admissible levels $k=-3+\frac{2}{2m+1}$, $m\geq 0$. The varieties of the associated simple affine $W$-algebras $W_k(sl_3,f)$, for nilpotent elements $f$ of $sl_3$, are also determined.

Geometric categorifications of Verma modules: Grassmannian Quiver Hecke algebras

Abstract:Naisse and Vaz defined an extension of KLR algebras to categorify Verma modules. We realise these algebras geometrically as convolution algebras in Borel-Moore homology. For this we introduce Grassmannian-Steinberg quiver flag varieties. They generalize Steinberg quiver flag varieties in a non-obvious way, reflecting the diagrammatics from the Naisse-Vaz construction. Using different kind of stratifications we provide geometric explanations of the rather mysterious algebraic and diagrammatic basis theorems. A geometric categorification of Verma modules was recently found in the special case of $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ by Rouquier. Rouquier's construction uses coherent sheaves on certain quasi-map spaces to flag varieties (zastavas), whereas our construction is implicitly based on perverse sheaves. Both should be seen as parts (on dual sides) of a general geometric framework for the Naisse-Vaz approach. We first treat the (substantially easier) $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ case in detail and construct as a byproduct a geometric dg-model of the nil-Hecke algebras. The extra difficulties we encounter in general require the use of more complicated Grassmannian-Steinberg quiver flag varieties. Their definition arises from combinatorially defined diagram varieties which we assign to each Naisse-Vaz basis diagram. Our explicit analysis here might shed some light on categories of coherent sheaves on more general zastava spaces studied by Feigin-Finkelberg-Kuznetsov-Mirković and Braverman, which we expect to occur in a generalization of Rouquier's construction away from $\mathfrak{sl}_2$.

Abstract:In this paper, we study a new kind of vertex operator algebras related to twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebra. We showed that there exist one-to-one correspondences between the restricted module categories of twisted Heisenberg-Virasoro algebras of rank one and rank two and several different kinds of module categories of their corresponding vertex algebras. We also study in detail the structures of the twisted HeisenbergVirasoro vertex operator algebra and give a characterization of it as a tensor product of two well-known vertex operator algebras.
On the reducibility of scalar generalized Verma modules associated to two-step nilpotent parabolic subalgebras

Abstract:Let $\mathfrak{g}$ be a simple complex Lie algebra of classical type. A generalized Verma module induced from a one-dimensional representation of a parabolic subalgebra of $\mathfrak{g}$ is called a scalar generalized Verma module of $\mathfrak{g}$. In this article, we use Gelfand-Kirillov dimension to determine the reducibility of scalar generalized Verma modules of $\mathfrak{g}$ associated to two-step nilpotent parabolic subalgebras of non-maximal type. Such a module exists only when $\mathfrak{g}=\mathfrak{sl}(n,\mathbb{C})$ or $\mathfrak{so}(2n,\mathbb{C})$ for classical types. We find that the reducible points of these modules can be drawn in a two-dimensional complex plane.
