Abstract: We define the quantum correction of the Teichm\"uller space $\mathcal{T}$ of Calabi-Yau manifolds. Under the assumption of no weak quantum correction, we prove that the Teichm\"uller space $\mathcal{T}$ is a locally symmetric space with the Weil-Petersson metric. For Calabi-Yau threefolds, we show that no strong quantum correction is equivalent to that, with the Hodge metric, the image $ \Phi(\mathcal{T})$ of the Teichm\"uller space $\mathcal{T}$ under the period map $\Phi$ is an open submanifold of a globally Hermitian symmetric space $W$ of the same dimension as $\mathcal{T}$. Finally, for Hyperk\"ahler manifold of dimension $2n \geq 4$, we find both locally and globally defined families of $(2,0)$ and $(2n,0)$-classes over the Teichm\"uller space of polarized Hyperk\"ahler manifolds.

Abstract:We define quantum exterior product wedge_h and quantum exterior differential d_h on Poisson manifolds, of which symplectic manifolds are an important class of examples. Quantum de Rham cohomology is defined as the cohomology of d_h. We also define quantum Dolbeault cohomology. Quantum hard Lefschetz theorem is proved. We also define a version of quantum integral, and prove the quantum Stokes theorem. By the trick of replacing d by d_h and wedge by wedge_h in the usual definitions, we define many quantum analogues of important objects in differential geometry, e.g. quantum curvature. The quantum characteristic classes are then studied along the lines of classical Chern-Weil theory, i.e., they can be represented by expressions of quantum curvature. Quantum equivariant de Rham cohomology is defined in a similar fashion. Calculations are done for some examples, which show that quantum de Rham cohomology is different from the quantum cohomology defined using pseudo-holomorphic curves.

Abstract:We propose a new point of view on quantum cohomology, strongly motivated by the work of Givental and Dubrovin, but closer to differential geometry than the existing approaches. The central object is the D-module which "quantizes" a commutative algebra associated to the (uncompactified) space of rational curves. A standard loop group factorization procedure converts the D-module to Givental's D-module and the commutative algebra to the quantum cohomology algebra. We apply this only to the small quantum cohomology of full flag manifolds and semi-positive toric manifolds, but even in these cases the method is effective. In particular it gives an algorithm (requiring construction of a Groebner basis and solution of a system of o.d.e.) for the quantum product.

Abstract:In this paper, we attempt to determine the quantum cohomology of projective bundles over the projective space P^n. In contrast to the previous examples, the relevant moduli spaces in our case frequently do not have expected dimensions. It makes the calculation more difficult. Abstract:We give an expository account of a conjecture, developed by Coates-Iritani-Tseng and Ruan, which relates the quantum cohomology of a Gorenstein orbifold X to the quantum cohomology of a crepant resolution Y of X. We explore some consequences of this conjecture, showing that it implies versions of both the Cohomological Crepant Resolution Conjecture and of the Crepant Resolution Conjectures of Ruan and Bryan-Graber. We also give a 'quantized' version of the conjecture, which determines higher-genus Gromov-Witten invariants of X from those of Y.

Abstract:We construct a global B-model for any quasi-homogeneous polynomial f that has properties similar to the properties of the physic's B-model on a Calabi-Yau manifold. The main ingredients in our construction are K. Saito's theory of primitive forms and Givental's higher genus reconstruction. More precisely, we consider the moduli space M-mar degrees of the so-called marginal deformations of f . For each point sigma is an element of M-mam degrees mar we introduce the notion of an opposite subspace in the twisted de Rham cohomology of the corresponding singularity f(sigma) and prove that opposite subspaces are in one-to-one correspondence with the splittings of the Hodge structure in the vanishing cohomology of f(sigma). Therefore, according to M. Saito, an opposite subspace gives rise to a semi-simple Frobenius structure on the space of miniversal deformations of f(sigma). Using Givental's higher genus reconstruction we define a total ancestor potential A(sigma) ((h) over bar, q) whose properties can be described quite elegantly in terms of the properties of the corresponding opposite subspace. For example, if the opposite subspace corresponds to the splitting of the Hodge structure given by complex conjugation, then the total ancestor potential is monodromy invariant and it satisfies the BCOV holomorphic anomaly equations. The coefficients of the total ancestor potential could be viewed as quasi-modular forms on M-Mar degrees in a certain generalized sense. As an application of our construction, we consider the case of a Fermat polynomial W that defines a Calabi-Yau hypersurface X-w in a weighted-projective space. We have constructed two opposite subspaces and proved that the corresponding total ancestor potentials can be identified with respectively the total ancestor potential of the orbifold quotient X-W/(G) over tilde (W) and the total ancestor potential of FJRW invariants corresponding to (W, G(W)). Here G(W) is the maximal group of diagonal symmetries of W and (G) over tilde (W) is a quotient of G(W) by the subgroup of those elements that act trivially on X-W. In particular, our result establishes the so-called Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence for the pair (W, G(W)).

Abstract:The (small) quantum cohomology ring of a flag manifold F encodes enumerative geometry of rational curves on F. We give a proof of the presentation of the ring and of a quantum Giambelli formula, which is more direct and geometric than the previously known proof. Furthermore, this proof gives a relationship between quantum Schubert polynomials and universal Schubert polynomials, which arise in a degeneracy locus formula of Fulton.

Abstract:The quantum cohomology algebra of the (full) flag manifold is a fundamental example in quantum cohomology theory, with connections to combinatorics, algebraic geometry, and integrable systems. Using a differential geometric approach, we give an algorithm for computing the multiplicative structure constants of this algebra (the 3-point genus zero Gromov-Witten invariants). The algorithm involves a Grobner basis calculation and the solution by quadrature of a system of differential equations. In particular we obtain quantum Schubert polynomials in a natural fashion.

Abstract:We compute the quantum cohomology of symplectic flag manifolds. Symplectic flag manifolds can be described by non-abelian GLSMs with superpotential. Although the ring relations cannot be directly read off from the equations of motion on the Coulomb branch due to complication introduced by the non-abelian gauge symmetry, it can be shown that they can be extracted from the localization formula in a gauge-invariant form. Our result is general for all symplectic flag manifolds, which reduces to previously established results on symplectic Grassmannians and complete symplectic flag manifolds derived by other means. We also explain why a (0,2) deformation of the GLSM does not give rise to a deformation of the quantum cohomology.

A Quantum $H^*(T)$-module via Quasimap Invariants

Abstract:For $X$ a smooth projective variety, the quantum cohomology ring $QH^*(X)$ is a deformation of the usual cohomology ring $H^*(X)$, where the product structure is modified to incorporate quantum corrections. These correction terms are defined using Gromov-Witten invariants. When $X$ is toric with the geometric quotient description $V /\!/ T$, the cohomology ring $H^*(V /\!/T)$ also has the structure of a quantum $H^*(T)$-module. In this paper, we give a new deformation using quasimap invariants with a light point. This defines $H^*(T)$-module structure on $H^*(X)$ through a modified version of the WDVV equations. Using the Atiyah-Bott localization theorem, we explicitly compute this structure for the Hirzebruch surface of type 2. We conjecture that this new quantum module structure is isomorphic to the natural module structure of the Batyrev ring for a semipositive toric variety.

Quantum Lefschetz theorem revisited

Abstract:Let $X$ be any smooth Deligne-Mumford stack with projective coarse moduli, and $Y$ be a smooth complete intersection in $X$ associated with a direct sum of semi-positive line bundles. We will introduce a useful and broad class known as admissible series for discussing quantum Lefschetz theorem. For any admissible series on the Givental's Lagrangian cone of $X$, we will show that a hypergeometric modification of the series lies on the Lagrangian cone of $Y$. This confirms a prediction from Coates-Corti-Iritani-Tseng about the genus zero quantum Lefschetz theorem beyond convexity. In our quantum Lefschetz theorem, we use extended variables to formulate the hypergeometric modification, which may be of self-independent interest.

Quantum modularity for a closed hyperbolic 3-manifold

Abstract:This paper proves quantum modularity of both functions from $\mathbb{Q}$ and $q$-series associated to the closed manifold obtained by $-1/2$ surgery on the figure-eight knot, $4_1(-1,2)$. In a sense, this is a companion to work of Garoufalidis-Zagier where similar statements were studied in detail for some simple knots. It is shown that quantum modularity for closed manifolds provides a unification of Chen-Yang's volume conjecture with Witten's asymptotic expansion conjecture. Additionally we show that $4_1(-1,2)$ is a counter-example to previous conjectures relating the Witten-Reshetikhin-Turaev invariant and the $\widehat{Z}(q)$ series. This could be reformulated in terms of a "strange identity", which gives a volume conjecture for the $\widehat{Z}$ invariant. Using factorisation of state integrals, we give conjectural but precise $q$-hypergeometric formulae for generating series of Stokes constants of this manifold. We find that the generating series of Stokes constants is related to the 3d index of Dimofte-Gaiotto-Gukov of $4_1(-1,2)$ proposed by Gang-Yonekura. This extends the equivalent conjecture of Garoufalidis-Gu-Mariño for knots to closed manifolds. This work appeared in a similar form in the author's thesis.

Abstract:Consider the generalized flag manifold $G/B$ and the corresponding affine flag manifold $\mathcal{Fl}_G$. In this paper we use curve neighborhoods for Schubert varieties in $\mathcal{Fl}_G$ to construct certain affine Gromov-Witten invariants of $\mathcal{Fl}_G$, and to obtain a family of "affine quantum Chevalley" operators $\Lambda_0, \ldots, \Lambda_n$ indexed by the simple roots in the affine root system of $G$. These operators act on the cohomology ring $\mathrm{H}^*(\mathcal{Fl}_G)$ with coefficients in $\mathbb{Z}[q_0, \ldots,q_n]$. By analyzing commutativity and invariance properties of these operators we deduce the existence of two quantum cohomology rings, which satisfy properties conjectured earlier by Guest and Otofuji for $G= \mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{C})$. The first quantum ring is a deformation of the subalgebra of $\mathrm{H}^*(\mathcal{Fl}_G)$ generated by divisors. The second ring, denoted $\mathrm{QH}^*_{\mathrm{af}}(G/B)$, deforms the ordinary quantum cohomology ring $\mathrm{QH}^*(G/B)$ by adding an affine quantum parameter $q_0$. We prove that $\mathrm{QH}^*_{\mathrm{af}}(G/B)$ is a Frobenius algebra, and that the new quantum product determines a flat Dubrovin connection. Further, we develop an analogue of Givental and Kim formalism for this ring and we deduce a presentation of $\mathrm{QH}^*_{\mathrm{af}}(G/B)$ by generators and relations. The ideal of relations is generated by the integrals of motion for the periodic Toda lattice associated to the dual of the extended Dynkin diagram of $G$.

Abstract:We study the quantum sheaf cohomology of flag manifolds with deformations of the tangent bundle and use the ring structure to derive how the deformation transforms under the biholomorphic duality of flag manifolds. Realized as the OPE ring of A/2-twisted two-dimensional theories with (0,2) supersymmetry, quantum sheaf cohomology generalizes the notion of quantum cohomology. Complete descriptions of quantum sheaf cohomology have been obtained for abelian gauged linear sigma models (GLSMs) and for nonabelian GLSMs describing Grassmannians. In this paper we continue to explore the quantum sheaf cohomology of nonabelian theories. We first propose a method to compute the generating relations for (0,2) GLSMs with (2,2) locus. We apply this method to derive the quantum sheaf cohomology of products of Grassmannians and flag manifolds. The dual deformation associated with the biholomorphic duality gives rise to an explicit IR duality of two A/2-twisted (0,2) gauge theories.
