Abstract:We construct a ring structure on complex cobordism tensored with the rationals, which is related to the usual ring structure as quantum cohomology is related to ordinary cohomology. The resulting object defines a generalized two- dimensional topological field theory taking values in a category of spectra.

Abstract:We propose a new point of view on quantum cohomology, strongly motivated by the work of Givental and Dubrovin, but closer to differential geometry than the existing approaches. The central object is the D-module which "quantizes" a commutative algebra associated to the (uncompactified) space of rational curves. A standard loop group factorization procedure converts the D-module to Givental's D-module and the commutative algebra to the quantum cohomology algebra. We apply this only to the small quantum cohomology of full flag manifolds and semi-positive toric manifolds, but even in these cases the method is effective. In particular it gives an algorithm (requiring construction of a Groebner basis and solution of a system of o.d.e.) for the quantum product.

Abstract:<h3 class="a-plus-plus">Abstract</h3> <p class="a-plus-plus">Motivated by gauge theory, we develop a general framework for chain complex-valued algebraic quantum field theories. Building upon our recent operadic approach to this subject, we show that the category of such theories carries a canonical model structure and explain the important conceptual and also practical consequences of this result. As a concrete application, we provide a derived version of Fredenhagen’s universal algebra construction, which is relevant e.g. for the BRST/BV formalism. We further develop a homotopy theoretical generalization of algebraic quantum field theory with a particular focus on the homotopy-coherent Einstein causality axiom. We provide examples of such homotopy-coherent theories via (1) smooth normalized cochain algebras on <span class="a-plus-plus inline-equation id-i-eq1"> <span class="a-plus-plus equation-source format-t-e-x">$\infty $</span> </span>-stacks, and (2) fiber-wise groupoid cohomology of a category fibered in groupoids with coefficients in a strict quantum field theory.</p>

Abstract:Given a locally compact group $G=Q\ltimes V$ such that $V$ is Abelian and such that the action of $Q$ on the Pontryagin dual $\hat V$ has a free orbit of full measure, we construct a family of unitary dual $2$-cocycles $\Omega_\omega$ (aka non-formal Drinfel'd twists) whose equivalence classes $[\Omega_\omega]\in H^2(\hat G,\mathbb T)$ are parametrized by cohomology classes $[\omega]\in H^2(Q,\mathbb T)$. We prove that the associated locally compact quantum groups are isomorphic to cocycle bicrossed product quantum groups associated to a pair of subgroups of the dual semidirect product $Q\ltimes\hat V$, both isomorphic to $Q$, and to a pentagonal cocycle $\Theta_\omega$ explicitly given in terms of the group cocycle $\omega$.

A Quantum $H^*(T)$-module via Quasimap Invariants

Abstract:For $X$ a smooth projective variety, the quantum cohomology ring $QH^*(X)$ is a deformation of the usual cohomology ring $H^*(X)$, where the product structure is modified to incorporate quantum corrections. These correction terms are defined using Gromov-Witten invariants. When $X$ is toric with the geometric quotient description $V /\!/ T$, the cohomology ring $H^*(V /\!/T)$ also has the structure of a quantum $H^*(T)$-module. In this paper, we give a new deformation using quasimap invariants with a light point. This defines $H^*(T)$-module structure on $H^*(X)$ through a modified version of the WDVV equations. Using the Atiyah-Bott localization theorem, we explicitly compute this structure for the Hirzebruch surface of type 2. We conjecture that this new quantum module structure is isomorphic to the natural module structure of the Batyrev ring for a semipositive toric variety.

Abstract:We develop a $\mathtt{q}$-analogue of the theory of conjugation equivariant $\mathcal D$-modules on a complex reductive group $G$. In particular, we define quantum Hotta-Kashiwara modules and compute their endomorphism algebras. We use the Schur-Weyl functor of the second author, and develop tools from the corresponding double affine Hecke algebra to study this category in the cases $G=GL_N$ and $SL_N$. Our results also have an interpretation in skein theory (explored further in a sequel paper), namely a computation of the $GL_N$ and $SL_N$-skein algebra of the 2-torus.

Quantum category O vs affine Hecke category

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to relate the quantum category $\mathcal{O}$ (known also as the category of modules over the mixed quantum group) at an odd root of unity to the affine Hecke category. Namely, we prove equivalences of highest weight categories between integral blocks of the affine category $\mathcal{O}$ and the heart of the so called ``new'' t-structure on the affine Hecke category. In order to do this we deform our categories over the formal neighborhood of $0$ in the dual affine Cartan and show that the categories of standardly filtered objects in the deformations are equivalent. For this, we construct functors from the deformed categories to the category of bimodules over the formal power series on the affine Cartan. Then we use what we call the Rouquier-Soergel theory, also developed in this paper, to show that on the categories of standardly filtered objects, these functors are full embeddings with the same image.

Abstract:We describe a structure on a commutative ring (pre)cyclotomic spectrum $R$ that gives rise to a (pre)cyclotomic structure on topological Hochschild homology ($THH$) relative to its underlying commutative ring spectrum. This lets us construct $TC$ relative to $R$, denoted $TC^{R}$, and we prove some descent results relating $TC^{R}$ and $TC$. We explore several examples of this structure on familiar $\mathbb{T}$-equivariant commutative ring spectra including the periodic $\mathbb{T}$-equivariant complex cobordism spectrum $MUP_{\mathbb{T}}$ and a new (connective) equivariant version of the complex cobordism spectrum $MU$.

Abstract:We are concerned with the center (=quantum double) of tensor categories and prove generalizations of several results proven previously for quantum doubles of Hopf algebras. We consider F-linear tensor categories C with simple unit and finitely many isomorphism classes of simple objects. We assume that C is either a *-category (i.e. there is a positive *-operation on the morphisms) or semisimple and spherical over an algebraically closed field F. In the latter case we assume that dim C=sum_i d(X_i)^2 is non-zero, where the summation runs over the isomorphism classes of simple objects. We prove: (i) Z(C) is a semisimple spherical (or *-) category. (ii) Z(C) is weakly monoidally Morita equivalent (in the sense of <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="math.CT/0111204" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/math.CT/0111204">math.CT/0111204</a>) to C X C^op. This implies dim Z(C)=(dim C)^2. (iii) We analyze the simple objects of Z(C) in terms of certain finite dimensional algebras, of which Ocneanu's tube algebra is the smallest. We prove the conjecture of Gelfand and Kazhdan according to which the number of simple objects of Z(C) coincides with the dimension of the state space H_{S^1\times S^1} of the torus in the triangulation TQFT built from C. (iv) We prove that Z(C) is modular and we compute the Gauss sums Delta_+/-(Z(C))=sum_i theta(X_i)^{+/- 1}d(X_i)^2=dim C. (v) Finally, if C is already modular then Z(C)\simeq C X C~, where C~ is the tensor category C with the braiding c~_{X,Y}=c_{Y,X}^{-1}.

Quantum Sheaf Cohomology and Duality of Flag Manifolds

Abstract:We study the quantum sheaf cohomology of flag manifolds with deformations of the tangent bundle and use the ring structure to derive how the deformation transforms under the biholomorphic duality of flag manifolds. Realized as the OPE ring of A/2-twisted two-dimensional theories with (0,2) supersymmetry, quantum sheaf cohomology generalizes the notion of quantum cohomology. Complete descriptions of quantum sheaf cohomology have been obtained for abelian gauged linear sigma models (GLSMs) and for nonabelian GLSMs describing Grassmannians. In this paper we continue to explore the quantum sheaf cohomology of nonabelian theories. We first propose a method to compute the generating relations for (0,2) GLSMs with (2,2) locus. We apply this method to derive the quantum sheaf cohomology of products of Grassmannians and flag manifolds. The dual deformation associated with the biholomorphic duality gives rise to an explicit IR duality of two A/2-twisted (0,2) gauge theories.

Abstract:We describe a relation between the periodic one-dimensional Toda lattice and the quantum cohomology of the periodic flag manifold (an infinite-dimensional Kaehler manifold). This generalizes a result of Givental and Kim relating the open Toda lattice and the quantum cohomology of the finite-dimensional flag manifold. We derive a simple and explicit "differential operator formula" for the necessary quantum products, which applies both to the finite-dimensional and to the infinite-dimensional situations.

An affine deformation of the quantum cohomology ring of flag manifolds and periodic Toda lattice

Abstract:Consider the generalized flag manifold $G/B$ and the corresponding affine flag manifold $\mathcal{Fl}_G$. In this paper we use curve neighborhoods for Schubert varieties in $\mathcal{Fl}_G$ to construct certain affine Gromov-Witten invariants of $\mathcal{Fl}_G$, and to obtain a family of "affine quantum Chevalley" operators $\Lambda_0, \ldots, \Lambda_n$ indexed by the simple roots in the affine root system of $G$. These operators act on the cohomology ring $\mathrm{H}^*(\mathcal{Fl}_G)$ with coefficients in $\mathbb{Z}[q_0, \ldots,q_n]$. By analyzing commutativity and invariance properties of these operators we deduce the existence of two quantum cohomology rings, which satisfy properties conjectured earlier by Guest and Otofuji for $G= \mathrm{SL}_n(\mathbb{C})$. The first quantum ring is a deformation of the subalgebra of $\mathrm{H}^*(\mathcal{Fl}_G)$ generated by divisors. The second ring, denoted $\mathrm{QH}^*_{\mathrm{af}}(G/B)$, deforms the ordinary quantum cohomology ring $\mathrm{QH}^*(G/B)$ by adding an affine quantum parameter $q_0$. We prove that $\mathrm{QH}^*_{\mathrm{af}}(G/B)$ is a Frobenius algebra, and that the new quantum product determines a flat Dubrovin connection. Further, we develop an analogue of Givental and Kim formalism for this ring and we deduce a presentation of $\mathrm{QH}^*_{\mathrm{af}}(G/B)$ by generators and relations. The ideal of relations is generated by the integrals of motion for the periodic Toda lattice associated to the dual of the extended Dynkin diagram of $G$.

Abstract:Let $\mbox{IG}:=\mbox{IG}(2,2n+1)$ denote the odd symplectic Grassmannian of lines which is a horospherical variety of Picard rank 1. The quantum cohomology ring $\mbox{QH}^*(\mbox{IG})$ has negative structure constants. For $n \geq 3$, we give a positivity condition that implies the quantum cohomology ring $\mbox{QH}^*(\mbox{IG})$ is the only quantum deformation of the cohomology ring $\mbox{H}^*(\mbox{IG})$ up to the scaling of the quantum parameter. This is a modification of a conjecture by Fulton.

Abstract:Algebraic quantum field theory and prefactorization algebra are two mathematical approaches to quantum field theory. In this monograph, using a new coend definition of the Boardman-Vogt construction of a colored operad, we define homotopy algebraic quantum field theories and homotopy prefactorization algebras and investigate their homotopy coherent structures. Homotopy coherent diagrams, homotopy inverses, A-infinity-algebras, E-infinity-algebras, and E-infinity-modules arise naturally in this context. In particular, each homotopy algebraic quantum field theory has the structure of a homotopy coherent diagram of A-infinity-algebras and satisfies a homotopy coherent version of the causality axiom. When the time-slice axiom is defined for algebraic quantum field theory, a homotopy coherent version of the time-slice axiom is satisfied by each homotopy algebraic quantum field theory. Over each topological space, every homotopy prefactorization algebra has the structure of a homotopy coherent diagram of E-infinity-modules over an E-infinity-algebra. To compare the two approaches, we construct a comparison morphism from the colored operad for (homotopy) prefactorization algebras to the colored operad for (homotopy) algebraic quantum field theories and study the induced adjunctions on algebras.

Abstract:(In the revised version the relevant aspect of noncompactness of the moduli of instantons is discussed. It is shown nonperturbatively that any BRST trivial deformation of A-model which does not change the ranks of BRST cohomology does not change the topological correlation functions either) We show that the Floer cohomology and quantum cohomology rings of the almost Kahler manifold M, both defined over the Novikov ring of the loop space LM of M, are isomorphic. We do it using a BRST trivial deformation of the topological A-model. As an example we compute the Floer = quantum cohomology of the 3-dimensional flag space Fl_3.

Quantum cohomology and Fukaya summands from monotone Lagrangian tori

Abstract:Let $L$ be a monotone Lagrangian torus inside a compact symplectic manifold $X$, with superpotential $W_L$. We show that a geometrically-defined closed-open map induces a decomposition of the quantum cohomology $\operatorname{QH}^*(X)$ into a product, where one factor is the localisation of the Jacobian ring $\operatorname{Jac} W_L$ at the set of isolated critical points of $W_L$. The proof involves describing the summands of the Fukaya category corresponding to this factor -- verifying the expectations of mirror symmetry -- and establishing an automatic generation criterion in the style of Ganatra and Sanda, which may be of independent interest. We apply our results to understanding the structure of quantum cohomology and to constraining the possible superpotentials of monotone tori

The Cyclic and Modular Microcosm Principle in Quantum Topology

Abstract:Monoidal categories with additional structure such as a braiding or some form of duality abound in quantum topology. They often appear in tandem with Frobenius algebras inside them. Motivations for this range from the theory of module categories to the construction of correlators in conformal field theory. We generalize the Baez-Dolan microcosm principle to consistently describe all these types of algebras by extending it to cyclic and modular algebras in the sense of Getzler-Kapranov. Our main result links the microcosm principle for cyclic algebras to the one for modular algebras via Costello's modular envelope. The result can be understood as a local-to-global construction for various flavors of Frobenius algebras that substantially generalizes and unifies the available, and often intrinsically semisimple methods using for example triangulations, state-sum constructions or skein theory. Several applications of the main result in conformal field theory are presented: We classify consistent systems of correlators for open conformal field theories and show that the genus zero correlators for logarithmic conformal field theories constructed by Fuchs-Schweigert can be uniquely extended to handlebodies. This establishes a very general correspondence between full genus zero conformal field theory in dimension two and skein theory in dimension three.

Abstract:Motivated by the fact that the Hopf-cyclic (co)homologies of function algebras over Lie groups and universal enveloping algebras over Lie algebras capture the Lie group and Lie algebra (co)homologies, we hereby upgrade the classical van Est isomorphism to ones between the Hopf-cyclic (co)homologies of quantized algebras of functions and quantized universal enveloping algebras, both in $h$-adic and $q$-deformation frameworks.
