Abstract:A difficult question arising in the study of effect algebras is how to equip them with a fitting and proper topology such that the topology is compatible with the partial operations ⊕ and Θ. As we know, the Frink ideal topology is an important intrinsic topology for studying partially ordered set theory; in particular, it is the correct topology for chains and direct products of a finite number of chains. In this paper, we show that the Frink ideal topology is also a nice topology for studying effect-algebra theory since it provides the operations with some of the expected continuity properties.

Abstract:Let (E,⊥,⊕,0,1) be a lattice effect algebra and τi its interval topology. In this work we show that if the operation ⊕ is continuous with respect to τi, then τi is Hausdorff. In addition, we also show that if (E,⊥,⊕,0,1) is a complete MV-effect algebra and τi is a Hausdorff topology, then the operations ⊕, ⊖, ∨ and ∧ are τi continuous.

Abstract:In this paper, first, we answer affirmatively an open problem which was presented in 2005 by professor Gudder on the sub-sequential effect algebras. That is, we prove that if (E, 0, 1, circle plus, o) is a sequential effect algebra and A is a commutative subset of E, then the sub-sequential effect algebra (A) over bar generated by A is also commutative. Next, we also study the following uniqueness problem: If na = nb = c for some positive integer n >= 2, then under what conditions a = b hold? We prove that if c is a sharp element of E and a vertical bar b, then a = b. We give also two examples to show that neither of the above two conditions can be discarded.

Abstract:The famous Antosik-Mikusinski convergent theorem on the Abel topological groups has very extensive applications in measure theory, summation theory and other analysis fields. In this paper, we establish the theorem on a class of effect algebras equipped with the ideal topology. This paper shows also that the ideal topology of effect algebras is a useful topology in studying the quantum logic theory.

Abstract:Let λ and μ be sequence spaces and have both the signed-weak gliding hump property, (λ, μ) the algebra of the infinite matrix operators which transform λ into μ. In this paper, it is proved that if λ and μ are β-spaces and λ β and μ β have also the signed-weak gliding hump property, then for any polar topology τ, ((λ, μ), τ) is always sequentially complete locally convex topological algebra.

Abstract:A quantum effect is an operator A on a complex Hilbert space H that satisfies 0 <= A <= I, E(H) is the set of all quantum effects on H. In 2001, Professors Gudder and Nagy studied the sequential product A . B = A(1/2) BA(1/2) for A, B. E(H). In 2005, Professor Gudder asked: Is A. B = A(1/2) BA(1/2) the only sequential product on epsilon(H)? Recently, Liu and Wu have presented an example to show that the answer is negative. In this paper, first, we characterize some algebraic properties of the abstract sequential product on epsilon(H), second, we present a general method for constructing sequential products on epsilon(H) and, finally, we study some properties of the sequential products constructed by the method.

Abstract:We introduce two K-theories, one for vector bundles whose fibers are modules of vertex operator algebras, another for vector bundles whose fibers are modules of associative algebras. Abstract:In this paper, we first construct a convex structure by ideals of effect algebras. Then we discuss convex properties of morphisms and monomorphisms between effect algebras. Further, we prove that partial binary operations and are separately convexity-preserving for the first position with respect to ideal convex structures when the effect algebra is a lattice effect algebra. A lattice effect algebra equipped with an ideal convex structure is called a semi-ideal convex effect algebra. Finally, we obtain that finite product and quotient of semi-ideal convex effect algebras are also semi-ideal convex effect algebras.

Order continuity and regularity on vector lattices and on lattices of continuous functions

Abstract:We give several characterizations of order continuous vector lattice homomorphisms between Archimedean vector lattices. We reduce the proofs of some of the equivalences to the case of composition operators between vector lattices of continuous functions, and so we obtain a characterization of order continuity of such operators. Motivated by this, we investigate various properties of the sublattices of the space $C\left(X\right)$, where $X$ is a Tychonoff topological space. We also obtain several characterizations of a regular sublattice of a vector lattice, and show that the closure of a regular sublattice of a Banach lattice is also regular.

Abstract:We classify $E_2$ condensable algebras in a modular tensor category $\mathcal{C}$ up to 2-Morita equivalent. From physical perspective, it is equivalent to say we give the criterion when different $E_2$ condensable algebras result in a same condensed topological phase in a 2d anyon condensation process. By taking left and right centers of $E_1$ condensable algebras in $\mathcal{C}$, we can exhaust all 2-Morita equivalent $E_2$ condensable algebras in $\mathcal{C}$. This paper gives a complete interplay between $E_1$ condensable algebras in $\mathcal{C}$, 2-Morita equivalent $E_2$ condensable algebras in $\mathcal{C}$, and lagrangian algebras in $\mathcal{C}\boxtimes \overline{\mathcal{C}}$.

Abstract:We introduce invertible subalgebras of local operator algebras on lattices. An invertible subalgebra is defined to be one such that every local operator can be locally expressed by elements of the inveritible subalgebra and those of the commutant. On a two-dimensional lattice, an invertible subalgebra hosts a chiral anyon theory by a commuting Hamiltonian, which is believed not to be possible on any full local operator algebra. We prove that the stable equivalence classes of $\mathsf d$-dimensional invertible subalgebras form an abelian group under tensor product, isomorphic to the group of all $\mathsf d + 1$ dimensional QCA modulo blending equivalence and shifts. In an appendix, we consider a metric on the group of all QCA on infinite lattices and prove that the metric completion contains the time evolution by local Hamiltonians, which is only approximately locality-preserving. Our metric topology is strictly finer than the strong topology.

Abstract:Effect algebras are certain ordered structures that serve as a general framework for studying the algebraic semantics of quantum logic. We study effect algebras which obtain suprema of countable monotone sequences – so-called -effect algebras. This assumption is necessary to capture basic (non-discrete) probabilistic concepts. We establish a free -completion of effect algebras (i.e., a left adjoint to the functor that forgets the existence of -suprema) and the existence of a tensor product in the category of -effect algebras. These results are obtained by means of so-called test spaces. Test spaces form a category that contains effect algebras as a reflective subcategory, but provides more space for constructions.

Abstract:The so-called Sasaki projection was introduced by U. Sasaki on the lattice L(H) of closed linear subspaces of a Hilbert space H as a projection of L(H) onto a certain sublattice of L(H). Since L(H) is an orthomodular lattice, the Sasaki projection and its dual can serve as the logical connectives conjunction and implication within the logic of quantum mechanics. It was shown by the authors in a previous paper that these operations form a so-called adjoint pair. The natural question arises if this result can be extended also to lattices with a unary operation which need not be orthomodular or to other algebras with two binary and one unary operation. To show that this is possible is the aim of the present paper. We determine a variety of lattices with a unary operation where the Sasaki operations form an adjoint pair and we continue with so-called $\lambda$-lattices and certain classes of semirings. We show that the Sasaki operations have a deeper sense than originally assumed by their author and can be applied also outside the lattices of closed linear subspaces of a Hilbert space.
