Abstract:We establish an estimate on weakly q-convex domains in C-n which provides a unified approach to various existence results for the (partial derivative) over bar -problem. We also prove a Diederich-Fornaess type result for weakly q-convex domains.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish various L2-estimates for the exterior differential operator on p-convex Riemannian manifolds in the sense of Harvey and Lawson. As applications, we establish a Carleman type estimate which is uniform with respect to both weight functions and domains, and we also obtain topological restrictions for a Riemannian manifold to be p-convex.

Abstract:By using the Cauchy-Fantappie machinery, the nonhomogeneous Cauchy-Riemann equation on convex domain D for (0, q) form f with partial derivativef = 0, partial derivativeu = f, has a solution which is a linear combination of integrals on bD of the following differential forms[GRAPHICS]j = 1, . . ., n-q-3, where A = [partial derivative (zeta)r(zeta), zeta - z], beta = \z -zeta\(2) and r is the defining function of D. In the case of finite strict type, Bruna et al. estimated [partial derivativer(zeta), zeta - z], by the pseudometric constructed by McNeal. We can e stimate the above differential forms and their derivatives. Then, by using a method of estimating integrals essentially due to McNeal and Stein, we prove the following almost sharp Holder estimate[GRAPHICS]for arbitary kappa > 0. The constant only depends on kappa, D and q.

Abstract:We prove several inequalities related to the $\bar\partial$-operator on bounded domains in $\mathbb{C}^n$, which can be viewed as a $\bar\partial$-version of the classical Poincaré inequality and its various generalizations, and apply them to derive a generalization of Sobolev Inequality with Trace in $\mathbb{R}^n$. As applications to complex analysis, we get an integral form of Maximum Modulus Principle for holomorphic functions, and an improvement of Hörmander's $L^2$-estimate for $\bar\partial$ on bounded strictly pseudoconvex domains.

Abstract:We establish a geometric lower bound for the principal curvature of the level surfaces of solutions to $F(D^2u, Du, u, x)=0$ in convex ring domains, under a refined structural condition introduced by Bianchini-Longinetti-Salani in \cite{BLS}. We also prove a constant rank theorem for the second fundamental form of the convex level surfaces of these solutions.

Abstract:Using the error bound results established in the present paper for approximate solutions, we study the stability issues when perturbed by possibly nonaffine smooth maps E for the abstract inequality system F >=(K) 0 defined by a (possible nonclosed) convex cone K and a Frechet differentiable function F satisfying the (extended) weak gamma-condition. We provide some sufficient conditions, in terms of the information at a solution x(0), for ensuring the lower semicontinuity and/or the Lipschitz-like continuity at x(0) of the solution mapping for the perturbed system F + E >=(K) 0 with smooth perturbation E. Explicit upper bounds of the Lipschitz-like moduli are also provided.

Abstract:We study a general model of nonvariational elliptic equations of $p$-Laplacian type in quasiconvex domains, which are locally approximated by convex domains. We prove that both the gradient and the associated nonhomogeneous term belong to the same $L^q$ space for every $q \in [p, \infty )$. As far as the domain is concerned, our regularity assumption on the boundary is weaker than any other one reported in this direction. In addition, we extend our result in Lebesgue spaces to Orlicz spaces.

Abstract:Let $D$ be a bounded domain in the complex plane with Lipschitz boundary. In the paper, we construct an integral solution operator $T[f]$ for any $\overline{\partial}$ closed $(0,1)$-form $f\in L^p_{(0,1)}(D^n)$ solving the Cauchy-Riemain equation $\overline{\partial} u=f$ on the product domains $D^n$ and obtain the $L^p$-estimates for all $1<p\le \infty$.

Abstract:We prove a homotopy formula which yields almost optimal estimates in all (positive-indexed) Sobolev and Hölder-Zygmund spaces for the $\overline \partial$ equation on finite type domains in $\mathbb C^2$, extending the earlier results of Fefferman-Kohn (1988) and Chang-Nagel-Stein (1992), and Range (1992). The main novelty of our proof is the construction of holomorphic support functions that admit precise estimates when the parameter variable lies in a thin shell outside the domain, which generalizes Range's method.

Abstract:We prove an interior L^p -estimate of X -gradient of weak solutions to a class of quasilinear subelliptic equations with VMO coefficients under controllable growth. Here, we use a reverse Hölder inequality and De Giorgi’s iteration to establish the boundedness of their weak solutions. Then a local L^p -estimate of the X -gradient of the weak solutions is derived by way of the bootstrap argument.

Abstract:In this paper, for the solutions of two elliptic equations we find the auxiliary curvature functions which attain respective minimum on the boundary. These results are the generalization of the classical ones in Makar-Limanov [17] for the torsion equation and Acker et al. [1] for the first eigenfunction of the Laplacian in convex domains of dimension 2. Then we get the new proof of the specific convexity of the solutions of the above two elliptic equations. As a consequence, for the elliptic equation upsilon Delta upsilon = -(1 + vertical bar del upsilon vertical bar(2)) in a smooth, bounded and strictly convex domain Omega in R-n with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary value condition, we also get a sharply lower bound estimate of the Gaussian curvature for the solution surface by the curvature of the boundary of the domain.
